Absolutely the worst experience.! We drove in bad conditions for HOURS to fish for 1 1/2 hours. My wife went to use the disgusting bathroom and was harassed like these guys never saw a woman before! Long overdue! Always a blast on Capt Lou. Whether your out for Fluke or on a booze cruise with a live band (saw a Rage cover band with Bunktown Falls... sooo good!) you'll have a great time. Now this isn't one of those huge boats with round tables and seating... borrriiinnng! These are fishing charters and honestly it is what you make of it. I've been on awesome fishing trips because my companions were awesome, I've been on less awesome ones because my friends were boring. There's parking across the street from the boat. Don't be late. The boat leaves exactly on time. My BF and I hit traffic and were later than I wanted arriving for the sea cruise. We got there at exactly 1 pm and they saw us running to catch them. How could you not love a booze cruise? Parties on these boats kick major tail. It's awesome starting out, slowly rolling past all the docks of all the bars of the Nautical Mile. And, naturally, coming back trashed and sometimes jumping off the boat, which I really don't recommend. That water is stupid gross. So the fleet has a few different sized boats, you can have just kegs, you can have liquor, you can have food or no food, you can have a dj, I'm sure you can have a clown if you wanted, I don't think they allow pony rides, though. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The boat was nice and big, clean too! The nicest charter I've been on thus far. Was a bit concerned why we were only allowed to be on one side of the boat and why the boat moved spots constantly & kept the motor running, but I caught 4 fish that day and took 1 home, which is better luck than I've ever had, so I was a happy clam. Note: Be prepared to get there early as parking is limited. The tiny lot is odd and you aren't able to get in OR out unless the boat before you comes back, so on second thougth... I'm not sure if it matters that you're early because you may have to move your car again like I did. Get there early to find a parking spot on the street. Also, if you have a Groupon, go to the office first and THEN get on line at the dock. read more

Went on my first fishing charter on July 4th. This spot would've gotten 4 stars were it not for the guy processing our payment giving us an attitude. We were a group of 8 and one of my dad's friend had already paid for 2 people and needed to pay for 2 more but left the receipts in another vehicle. The guy looked through his log and didn't find my dad's friends name and was huffing and puffing about and did not make an effort at all to hide his displeasure. Once he found the note of payment (which was simply written on top of an envelope) he was like "you should've told me you were with a group" He should've asked if that were to make a difference. On a different note. The fishing trip itself was pretty good. A little crowded but good. We got on the 8am charter and returned to the dock at noon. The crew were extremely sweet and helping and patiently teaching us how to work the rods. My bf and I each caught 3 fishes (2 bass and 1 fluke) on our first time fishing! Unfortunately, we couldn't keep any of it since they were smaller than 18". The captain moved the boat to 3 different spots throughout our fishing trip to ensure that most people caught something. The bathroom on board was clean albeit a bit smelly and they have a full "kitchen" if you would like to order something to eat. Would I recommend this charter? Yes I would because the crew was amazing and the fishing wasn't bad even though the catches were too small. Definitely a must try if you are a first timer. read more

My son and I have been going fishing with Capt. Lou for the past two years. I can't say enough about how accommodating the staff is and they also try to teach you as you fish to further help your experience. Capt Mike is always moving to different spots to get you on the fish and is always keeping a watchful on the mates and anglers from his perch above. The girls in the office make booking and paying for your trip an easy and friendly experience. The vessel is always very clean and stocked with poles,bait,hooks,and sinkers. What a great belated Father's Day gift for my Dad. We went on the half day Fluke trip and we had a great time! The boat was a little rocky considering there was a storm rolling in, but he caught a huge sea bass and they even filleted it for us! The boat was in good shape, parking was easy but signs indicating where to park would make it less stressful The helpers that clean up during party we're doing well at cleaning the tables of unattended plates but apparently they avoid the bathrooms like the Plague. The toilet had this stuff on the walls of the bowl I have never seen before . They have a sign if the mates took care of you please take care of the mates . Well mates that means scrub the bathroom and maintain it. What's the deal with the constant drip falling from the 2nd level on the heads of people standing underneath . Try using leaf blowers to dry boat if you just sprayed it with water. read more

We were a group of 13 seniors that went on a two hour seal watching trip and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff was very informative and a lot of fun. We booked for a 1pm Fluke trip and the trip was canceled at 12:59pm without any prior notice. There were around 10 people on the boat and most of them were seniors(cheeper price). I guessed it was why they canceled this trip. I understand that the company may cancel the trip due to too few people. However, they should notify us at least 3 hours before the trip begin rather than waiting until the last minute. We came from NY city and spent 3 hours and $50 on traffic. Now the trip was canceled. It's totally a waste of our time!!! Poor service!!! read more

I went on a sunset cruise on Captain Lous Fleet recently using a Groupon certificate.Parking is available near the boat but since everyone takes their keys with them we were trapped for around 15 minutes by a car ahead of us that did not move.The cruise itself is nice and very relaxing. The boat goes along the bay for 2 hours passing salt marshes and some interesting sites on the nautical mile. The outdoor seats are Ok but not very comfortable. Food and drink is available on the boat.It would have helped to have some commentaries on the sites however the cruise itself was very nice and well worth the price of the trip. read more

We booked a half day fishing trip with Captain Lou Fleet and had a great time. Everything was easy, from booking on line, to parking right across the street and having an attendee present to tell us what to do, to someone greeting us onto the boat and providing and setting up our poles. There's an indoor seating area with small snack bar or you can bring your own. They were very good about making sure everyone had a mask and used it, especially when inside. The boat ride out was beautiful and fun. The folks on board were always there to help bait hooks, untangle lines,, grab the fish you hooked, throw it back when it wasn't big enough. If you were lucky enough to catch one you could keep, they fileted it on the trip back in. Everyone was friendly, staff and guests, and just having a relaxing good time. It was a great day. We would absolutely do it again, maybe with more people next time. Worth the price of admission. And be ready to tip because the great staff earn and deserve it. read more

"Nice Day to see some Harbor Seals!" We lucked out; it was an unseasonably warm day for February, and a great deal on Groupon. The staff and volunteers from the Riverhead Research Foundation were so friendly and knowledgeable. We took our 10 year old who enjoyed seeing 14 seals, 6 of which were close enough to view without binoculars. They do have indoor cabins with heat, but what seals can you see if you are inside?! BRING BINOCULARS, and dress warmly! Gloves and Hats are a must! The total trip is 2 hours, a perfect amount of time to keep your child engaged and off their cellphones! I would highly recommend this adventure in our own backyard! read more

I came here for the 2-hour sunset cruise I got through Groupon with my boyfriend. It was a great experience and fun! The drinks weren't too expensive, $8 for well drinks and $5 for Corona. Captain Lou's Fleet is amazing for fishing! We did a half day fluke fishing trip and it was much fun. I had never been fishing before and they were really great at teaching me how to fish. They took us to multiple spots so we had many opportunities to catch fish. We were even able to catch Porgies. I would definitely recommend them for a fishing trip. read more

Went on Capt Lou' seal watching tour. Wow boat was BIG, cabin was heated. It was freezing outside but it's January that's to be expected! Saw lots and lots of seals! Didn't know we had so many on Long Island! Hot chocolate was good too. Tommy was funny and very informative. We will be back again next year! Highly recommended experience! Great for all ages! Seal tour with my fife and 2 teen boys. FREEZING cold day but warm, dry and cozy in the heated cabin. Nice big windows to see out of and great view from the deck from those brave enough to be outside. Captain, crew and all were great making sure that ever person on board had multiple chances to see the seals. Super friendly and comfortable boat on what was something of a nasty day. Get there early but regardless parking is provided. Bring your own drinks/snacks if possible but they are available for purchase. The staff is totally AMAZING and ATTENTIVE to passengers needs and they truly go the extra mile. Kudos to Darra for hangin in there with all the questions of newbies!!!!
