When did Captain D's start cutting their fish to magic marker size? I know that the economy is terrible and sizes have shrunk but this it's pretty bad to get home expecting regular size and get micro size fish. read more

The cashier ringing me up was quite rude. I had not been here before, so I was asking questions about sides and the ordering process, but the lack of clarity required repeat questions which were met with rudeness and some anger. The food itself was just not good. Tasted like the fryer hadn't been cleaned in some time. Rancid. I had the large sampler with coleslaw and Mac and cheese. About the only good thing was the coleslaw and the shrimp. The ambience was poor. The floors were not clean, the dispensers for condiments were all empty except for a few packets. Well, stupid me tried this restaurant again. It used to be so good year's ago. Not anymore. This is the last time I will ever "eat" here. Delivery was very prompt. Prices are jacked up for delivery. You get less food also. No silverware, no tarter sauce, no napkins. Smallest amount of food I've ever seen. We where still hungry after eating. We each had a measly 5 French fries, I got one hush puppy. My sister got none. My slaw was missing. I even called to say we never get our sauces, can you make sure we get them please. Yeah, yeah then they hung up. So rude! Of course, still didn't get them. Last time we had missing items as well. Small portions. Never, ever again. Worst place in Knoxville. Cashier Theft. My experience was drive-thru. I called the manager on 3/22/24 at 3 p.m. and told him that the cashier was taking pictures of my credit card before processing the payment. I usually go to Captain D's on Wednesdays and Sundays for the senior citizen specials . I am a creature of habit I eat at the same establishments and eat the same meals at certain locations.While I haven't been there in a minute , I went last night after I got off work . I was placing my order for a 2 piece fish dinner and the lady asked me what 2 sides I'd like I said okra and decided to change it up a little bit and said a double order of okra . She said you do realize that there is a up charge for okra . I said what is that , she stated that it's not a item that goes with the 2 piece meal and that it would be a extra charge . I said well why did you ask me what sides I want , if the meal only comes one way . Has anyone ever heard of this ? I hate to sound cheap and it's not really about the money,but I also hate to be taken advantage of . I have frequented this Captain D's for years but this has just rubbed me the wrong way . We went in to order. I came in last, and I couldn't even order. My fiancee did, but he said the food was wrong and awful. When I came in the door, this god awful stench hit me solidly in the face. I don't know what cleaner you use, but this was HORRIBLE. (Rotting lemon death??) Remember when I said I couldn't order? I couldn't because I was outside being sick from it in the parking lot. It affected my mother also, but fortunately not as badly. The girl at the register was wonderful. She sent me a drink to try and help my stomach, bless her. Fish tenders were a little over cooked and the side salad I got was nearly rotten. Lettuce was brown/pink and slimy.

This is my first review on Yelp. I need to warn the public that if you eat here and they get your order wrong and you ask them to make it right expect to be yelled at and cussed at in front.of the entire restaurant. I literally left there shaking after I demanded my $21.52 back cause I couldn't stay another minute. What's worse is the manager was standing right there beside the girl and said nothing. She literally threatened me . I was shocked and shaking and felt so bad for all the seniors eating in the restaurant. When I ask if I could get the fried whitefish she said no you ordered this (it was grilled)..and kept arguing with me.. I ACTUALLY called corporate and spoke with someone and she took my info and I've never heard back. This happened in May 2018.. My best advice is don't bother with this place. We got a to go order today and the food was terrible. The fries were cold and absolutely flavorless. The fish and hush puppies both had black spots all over them which looked like they had been fried in old oil. I'm not sure how the cook and/ or lady that checked the food boxes before she bagged them up didn't see all the black disgusting dots all over the fish and hush puppies. The only thing we received that was even slightly edible were the jalapeño poppers. read more
