Situated in the old Frederick Hotel, this eatery is a magical throwback to the early 60's with red leather, dark paneling and a chair rail featuring an elephant walk! Our dinner choices were relatively straightforward, but the food was outstanding. We started with a nice side Caesar salad with fresh Romain lettuce, fresh croutons, shaved Parmesan and a perfect amount to dressing. My entree was the Fried Shrimp platter. The shrimp were absolutely fresh, huge and butterflied perfectly. A light but tasty breading with a side of spicy cocktail sauce made it even better. French fries and glazed sliced carrots made for perfect sides. My dining partner opted for fresh grilled salmon, perfectly seasoned and done to perfection. Fresh broccoli and risotto were just the right compliments. Dessert was an in-house prepared chocolate gnash mousse - dense, rich and velvety, and served as the perfect was to finish the meal. Finally, the service was excellent. And we had a chance to chat with owner Mark Cross, who has presided over this establishment for 23 years. Mark was a delight to meet, and takes great care and pride in providing a top notch experience. If your travels bring you to Huntington, do yourself a favor and dine mat this historic gem!!

Service was consistent from the moment we arrived. Chef James Hillen rivals some of the top Chefs that we have dined with. The food was FANTASTIC! Our steaks were flavorful and cooked to perfection with an exceptional sear. The garlic mashed potatoes were perfectly seasoned and prepared. The homemade mac and cheese was creamy with the perfect crust on top. The salad was a good portion size and tasted like it was freshly chopped and prepared. The asparagus was cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. The crème brûlée was balanced and creamy with a delicious hardened caramelized sugar layer. We can't brag on this place enough and definitely recommend this restaurant. This is a place we will dine at again!

The parking lot needs a lot of work though and is something they need to work on. There are massive pot holes everywhere. Other than that I've never had any issues with this place.

For the amount of people dining, the food trays were pretty sparse however they did start putting some food out after I had been there for a little while. Everything, including the items that were being put out was just lukewarm, it tasted old and most everything was kind of dried out. I had always enjoyed the Hibachi and Sushi but both were gone. Honestly there wasn't much of anything about the food I could say I enjoyed eating. It's a buffet so at least I had good service, I only wish I could have gotten myself a refill on my drink. The restaurant looks tired and worn out, the whole of the restaurant looked somewhat dirty and unkempt. I probably will not be going back to eat here and I hate that because it used to be a good place to eat.

I gave this location a 5 for the staffing because they seem disorganized and sometimes frustrated. The food gets an additional point added due to the fact that the food is some of the best around here and truly deserves recognition.

I highly recommend getting the flour tortilla chips in addition to the corn. Overall, we love this place and eat it frequently!
