The path isn't the best for skating, but I have used it many times paying attention to any breaks or rocks along the path. The park faces the Arthur Kill tidal straight which is a calm channel of water and makes for a decent view while visiting the park. The land is always clean, but I would avoid visiting right after a rain pour since the park sits on a wetland. Driving here for the first time can be tricky since it is tucked away a bit. To get there, it looks like you are trespassing on to the property of PSEG (but you're not), passing open gates. Instead of driving straight towards the PSEG facility, you will make a right into the park where you see the sign for Alvin P. Williams Memorial Park. Enjoy!

There is a bathroom and a building where you can get a map and ask questions. The young lady working there was very accommodating. The trails were pretty well kept. You're walking through the woods basically except for a time or two to cross the road. Ya I would've got lost map and all. We passed an area where they had different types of peacocks, it was like a little peacock zoo. Of course there's beautiful areas with a pond. We saw more then one. The trails we took were a total of 3.38 miles, we did that in 11/2 hours and they went back through the trails again. It's really a beautiful walk/hike that I'd love to go through on a slower pace and photograph more. Not scary if you're going alone. I believe dogs are allowed on leash.

The park has two sides, and it was pretty busy when I went in the evening but still spacious. There were lots of families and tons of kids enjoying the playground and people walking the loop. The loop for walking and running is well-maintained and, I believe, about 1 mile long. The park also has seating areas, a gazebo, restrooms, and ample parking. I noticed people playing cricket, baseball, and football, different fields available and there's even a small creek nearby.

It is near a highway so maybe that is why people avoid it, but they have tennis, basket ball and roller rink courts. There is a nice grove of trees and a nice gazebo and fountain too. I use the tennis courts almost every weekend and they are hardly used and in decent shape. Only complaint is it could use a broom to clean leaves to be left there. There are also lights on the court at night for free and ample parking and clean bathroom facilities. Once you are done with a game you can head to wawa across the street!

Came here because it's one of the few, or as far as I know, the only 24 Hour fishing piers. Had no idea that the bathroom closes around 6pm, so you're pretty much screwed if you stay over night. Also, there is a sign that if you catch the crabs, to throw them back, because if you eat them, it can cause cancer. (Bad omen) I had no idea the water here was that polluted. I fished here for a few hours, caught a small striper, and black sea bass, no keepers, but the heaviest things that I caught were bags and bags of trash. Absolutely disgusting! I can't believe there is so much pollution and garbage in this water. Such a shame people are ruining nature like this. No wonder they tell you not to eat the crabs. I legit thought I was going to be sick at the stench of the trash bags. I was really hoping that this could have been a new fishing spot because I love night fishing, but after this experience, no thank you!

The waterfront brings cool breeze on hot summer days which is a plus. There's also restrooms which is a plus. The only problem is the restroom has no air condition so imagine the funky oder! Phew...! There is also no soap so I'm glad I had my hand sanitizer right after washing my hands with only water. There's also a stage performance of live band which was awesome for entertaining everyone while we wait for fireworks in the dusk. Because many others were here with their pets and also seeing the fireworks, there's so much traffic and road closures with cops detouring all traffic. The firework show above the waterfront was up front and very beautiful. I will definitely come back again next year but definitely earlier to get better parking. After certain time, you can't drive your vehicle into the park. The cops make people find parking elsewhere and the walk into the park gets pretty lengthy.
