While these donuts were okay, for the price they were not anything special. The made to order topping is neat for the kids but other than that there really isn't anything different about this shop. We purchased 5 donuts and 2 iced coffees and it was over $30.00. Even the kid says he preffered Dunkin over these and they were fairly small. The employees were really friendly with assisting in an allergy, and not knowing what we wanted since it was our first time going. The donuts were delicious and it was fun to make our own! This place is decent but not worth a special trip. I got the PB&J donut and my husband got the Italia. Someone else mentioned that the focus here is on Instagram-worthy donuts vs. taste and I think that's exactly right. Pretty and satisfying but nothing to write home about. We also weren't impressed by the kid who was in charge of pouring coffees. He was incredibly bitchy to us for no reason. Dry doughnuts unless you get it with jelly or cream I'm guessing. Plain cider doughnut and powdered sugar were not good. I never leave reviews but I want to for this donut shop because the breakfast sandwiches on a port roll and cold brew were really good. They toast the port roll! We saw this place on Maps, we were looking for breakfast since our favorite diner was still closed at 8-am. Actually planned to get just donuts and our coffees elsewhere but theirs smelled amazing; their cold brew is really good! You can add your own cream/dairy. Very clean, very nice staff, fast moving line. Even had discounted day-old donuts for sale in half-dozen at the beginning of the counter. There's good visuals, all of the specials are out for you to see. I love old-fashioned donuts. I think their base recipe is very good/grown-up. I'm glad I tried the toppings but my sweet tooth is too weak. I think next time I will get a whole half-dozen of plain to myself! Husband and I stopped by yesterday for some coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and (of course) donuts for a road trip. We loved our donuts, but honestly the breakfast sandwiches and Irish cream coffee had us making a return trip this morning on the way out of town. Husband had the Captain yesterday and Skippah this morning, both on an everything bagel, and he said they were the best breakfast sandwiches he's ever had. We were very excited but alas.. the place is not worth the wait. I was the second customer of the day. I asked for an espresso glaze.. they gave me jelly! (I hate jelly). Let's start with the good. Bacon egg and cheese on a Portuguese roll was great. The bad it costs 6 bucks !! Donuts are sub par at best with mediocre toppings for 2.75 each or $28 a dozen. If you want coffee it's good just don't ask for a refill; they want another 2.75 for a top off. Lauren the owner, seems to be asking the customers to pay for their Victorian house next door with this over priced, marginal, diabetes dough rounds. Definitely a highlight of our trip to the Cape! We were staying 45 min away in Mashpee and this was totally worth the drive. They make all the donuts to order, whether you design your own (so fun!) or order off the menu. Everything tasted warm, fresh, and delicious. Our two-year-old loved watching them handcraft each donut (they had display windows and stools set up just for viewing!). This place is what a donut shop experience used to be like. Its a donut shop in a barn that actually makes fresh donuts that are topped in front of you. You can select from quite a few seasonal or innovate donuts or make your own. We also ordered a an egg, cheese and sausage on an everything bagel. It was incredible fresh. Our annual family vacation isn't complete without finding some specialty donuts for breakfast at least once. Captain Baker didn't disappoint. The donuts were perfect and the toppings were delicious, if a little sweet. They only have two flavors of the "base" donut.
