Look out for this sign. Location is kind of hard to spot if you're going fast

If you drive by too fast, you'll miss this little crab shack and that'd be a bummer because their crabs were some of my favorites from Summer, 2019. Too often, crab shacks will charge Large / extra large prices for medium / small sized crabs. Sometimes you'll pay premium prices for dried out or mushy, ammonia reeking crabs mixed in with a bunch. This is NOT at all the experience with Capt. Dick's. Theirs were true to size, freshly steamed with a perfect cook, and all heavy and full with plump and juicy leg and claw meat. Capt. Dick's does their seasoning more peppery / spicy than salty which is what I like but if you're not a fan of a little heat, I would recommend asking for light seasoning or seasoning on the side. Their prices are fair and they are family owned and operated by nice people. They are only open seasonally which I appreciate, as opposed to having crabs shipped from out of state, year round. I love my Maryland TRUE BLUES! I would recommend them for your no frills, crab carry out needs.

Fresh picked! Capt Dicks also has large rolls of thick brown paper that you can get if needed to lay down on your tables for easy clean up!

Don't judge by the pictures. If you are looking for a go to place to get your steamed Maryland crabs, look no further! I am a Marylander born and raised, and I've always struggled to find a reliable place to get steamed crabs to pick...calling place to place to see who has them in (especially during peak demand times). After discovering Capt Dicks just a couple of years ago, they are always my first call. You can call in your order days or hours in advance, for pick up whenever you'd like. I recommend calling the day before, but even hours ahead will work too, as long as the demand isn't too high. Price is extremely fair compared to what you will find in the area.

This place gets all of my money and it's worth every dime. I've never had a bad batch of crabs from from Captain Dick's and I've been going here for years. The crabs are always heavy and seasoned just right. I get full off just a few.

Very good! Always tasty, never a bad crab in the bunch. I love that the claws are never missing. I took a picture after I ate half of the crabs(forgot).

Large crabs for $89 a dozen and some corn. So delicious!!!

Great place to go for crabs - very iconic. It's a little on the pricier side but it hasn't disappointed!

I personally don't recommend the jumbo, as the XL ones seem to be just as meaty.

Both tasted amazing and I regret not picking up the Biscoff cheesecake. The woman taking the food orders was so pleasant, had a delightful personality and the cutest purple dress with cats on it. I plan on going to the Elkridge fire department on Friday to try and purchase the crème brûlée from this food truck.

I pretty much always get their Rockfish tacos because they're so good! Well-fried rockfish pieces topped with a yummy remoulade sauce and finely chopped cabbage. I think my only complaint would be that it's clearly enough for two standard tacos, but they shove it all into one large one, which usually makes for pretty messy eating. I usually opt for the mixed seasonal vegetables, which is a pretty large side and a good variety of veggies. Not bad for $14! Every time I go, there is someone getting their cream of crab soup, and a few times the truck has sold out; must be good, so I'll have to try that next time. Other popular items include their crab fries. They also usually have some jarred dessert, like crème brûlée or key lime pie. I finally broke down and tried their crème brûlée and it was pretty solid! For $5, it's worth it. The folks there are friendly and work fast to get you your food. Prices are definitely reasonable. Check these guys out sometime.

In addition to their seafood selection, their produce section is one of my favorites. Well spread out, nothing is wilting or molded, and they push for customers to bring their own bags! Surprisingly, at times they have completely random and "exotic" veggies and fruits that you may not find elsewhere. Try them out! There is an amazing sushi restaurant next door, a liquor store and an ice cream stop which makes running errands sweeter =)

The line was 10 people long for 1 register. I watched Debra come out and it looked like she might open a register. I sent my son over to ask if she was opening a lane. She ignored him the first two times and then said no the third time he asked. (He's a shy, quiet 8yo). She then pulled the two people directly in front of us over to her new line and then announced anyone with less than 15 items could line up in order behind the people she had pulled over. I listened to her call the people ahead of us sweetie & darling. But when we finally got in line it was all very glum business. Once I got my receipt I pointed out to her I had watched her lie to my son. She acted like she didn't know and I quietly reminded her he had asked if she was opening a lane and she told him no and then literally opened the lane 30 seconds later. She yelled at us a few times as we exited the store telling us she would go get her manager. A kind lady behind us was appalled at how we'd been treated. Does Debra hate children? What did we do to deserve that?

Was looking for some affordable local flavors. This was a cool spot…read more AMBIANCE: Parking: Street parking for the most part, typical for this part of town. Seating: Indoor seating with room for about 20 people inside the market. Vibes: You're right in the heart of Old Town / Fells Point -- the touristy but charming part of Baltimore. I dig the vintage brick roads, the historic feel, and the mix of locals and visitors passing through. The space sits inside a lively market (1640 Aliceanna St) with that true Baltimore seafood vibe -- casual, approachable, and full of movement. It's not fine dining; it's flavor-first, no-nonsense, and welcoming. Great for a quick grab-and-go or to sit down for a casual meal. FOOD/DRINKS: Crab Soup (A-Ok) Simple but hearty. It reminded me of a tomato-based soup with crab mixed in -- nothing too fancy, but warm and satisfying. I appreciated the richness and good amount of crab meat. I'm more of a clam chowder fan, so next time I might go that route, but this was still solid. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Quick, friendly, and efficient. The staff clearly know what they're doing and keep things moving without losing that personal touch. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. Good prices, solid flavors, and a classic Baltimore seafood feel. Sal and Son's Seafood isn't flashy, but it's genuine -- a go-to for a comforting bowl and a true local experience. I'll be back to try their other dishes next time I'm in the area. TIPS: * Check what's on special -- they rotate and have plenty of combo options.

It's probably because one meal was simple (crab cake sandwich, fries), and the other may have taken longer to cook to order (shrimp and chicken jambalaya). Otherwise, we were absolutely satisfied with the food. The crab cake sandwich was on point. The creamy crab soup was flavorful, creamy, and worth every bite. The shrimp and chicken jambalaya was also executed well. Also, I highly recommend trying the fresh fruit drinks. We got watermelon and pineapple, and "refreshing" doesn't begin to describe how good they were. The service was straightforward and to the point, which works for me. The establishment is located inside of a market. We went on a Sunday, so this was one of the few eateries open. I'm imagining that it is probably more jumping on other days. If I'm in Baltimore again, I'll definitely consider visiting again and exploring more of the menu.
