For what it is, it's not too bad. It probably deserves three and a half stars, but can't do that on Yelp. This is a grab-and-go or sit-and-eat quick and for Disney, a relatively reasonably priced place. We had: - the bacon cheeseburger - the kids burger - the pulled pork nachos - the Asian noodles I would say it was all pretty standard. The noodles weren't bad, but could have used more vegetables. I think I found about one and a half pieces of broccoli in the entire thing. The nachos were actually pretty good and had a nice mango salsa on top. The burgers were pretty standard fare. For a quick bite at the Polynesian Resort, it's pretty decent.

Captain Cook's is a counter service restaurant inside Disney's Polynesian Resort. It is a fast-paced venue, so be ready to order when you get to the attendant. The restaurant has fun travel posters and a view of the pool, but it is crowded and bustling...as it is one of the more "affordable" places to eat on the property. The staff is friendly and are hopping! Servers will be bring your meal to your table and are constantly on the move refilling napkins and tidying up the drink station. The menu is limited but delicious. We had the pulled pork nachos. The nachos, pineapple, pork and cheese made a lovely combination. The serving was big enough to share.

They put chips on their soda cups, give you ONE refill, and don't allow you to get that one refill after an hour. Beware.

Capt. Cook's is the Polynesian Resort's quick service snack bar. It's located by the main areas, so it's very convenient. As with most things Disney dining, it's overpriced and mediocre. And let's be honest: the only reason I ever go here is to hang out while I'm waiting for my seat at Trader Sam's to be ready! There's a large indoor seating area with picture windows that look out onto the Polynesian property. Lush trees give a tropical vibe, and the outdoor dining patio is also nice when it's not raining or super hot and humid. This is a strictly "grab-and-go" spot with a unique menu that also has family-friendly favorites (chicken noodle soup, macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers and burgers). If you're looking for something a little more "elevated" (and I use that term loosely here), they have pizza style flatbreads, rice and noodle bowls, and unusual items like coconut meatballs and pork sandwiches. The place is very friendly and welcoming, and I recommend you use the Disney app for mobile ordering. Capt. Cook's is a great mobile order spot: it's fast, accurate, and there's no long wait in line when you're tired and hungry. If you haven't been to WDW in a while, I have some disappointing news for you: you can no longer get Dole Whip at Capt. Cook's. I know, I know. I remember the days of the SELF SERVICE Dole Whip machine here. Disney's just messed everything up! Even more annoying is that when you purchase a soda here, they give you ONE refill. How do they monitor that? Well, the soda cups have chips built in the bottom. Yes, on the PAPER SODA CUPS!!! Come on, Disney, you're charging me close to $6 for a tiny little drink cup and I can't refill it more than ONCE? This is the main reason for my low star rating of Capt. Cook's! I will say again that every single time I have been here, the service is fast and friendly. Cast Members here seem to keep things running smoothly even when the place is packed, making Capt. Cook's one of the most painless places to grab a quick snack.

Great spot for a quick cheap eat at the Polynesian Resort at Disney. The sauce on the Korean chicken bowl was sweet with a lil kick. The cheese flatbread was a good size. Both were pretty filling even though it was loaded with carb. They have a big condiments section with big Ken's ranch packets. It went well with the flatbread. Service was friendly as usual at Disney and the spot had lots of seating, even some outside if you can bear the heat. Went in here while waiting to get into the speakeasy right next door at Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. It was about a 30 minutes wait to get in there so this was just right to pass the time

I loved coming here! It gets busy but the food comes pretty quick! Nice selection of grab-and-go and Polynesian themed foods available! I highly recommend getting the pineapple cupcake and the Thai Coconut Meatballs!

Every great hotel has that one "casual" spot where you expect frozen pizza and end up questioning your life choices. Captain Cook's is not that place. This is the Polynesian's quick-service joint, and somehow it's better than 90% of the restaurants people line up for in Orlando. First off, the menu reads like a fever dream cooked up after too many Dole Whips. Pulled pork nachos? Yes. Tonga Toast for breakfast? Legendary. Thai coconut meatballs? Random but delicious. Flatbreads? Of course, because you need something to soak up all the rum from Trader Sam's before you crawl back to your room. The star of the show? The Aloha Pork Sandwich--juicy, messy, unapologetic, and best eaten while sitting on the patio pretending you live here full-time and not just for three days until your credit card bursts into flames. Pair it with house-made chips and suddenly you're not in a hotel cafeteria--you're in some weird alternate universe where quick service actually slaps. And let's not ignore the fact that you can get Dole Whip right outside. This is basically Disney's way of saying: "We know you're not leaving this property, so here's sugar and pineapple in frozen form. Shut up and be happy." The vibe? Chill. It's the place you wander into barefoot at 2 a.m. after Trader Sam's, order pork nachos, and swear it's the best meal of your life--until you do it again the next night and realize you weren't hallucinating. Captain Cook's is what happens when Disney takes "fast food" and quietly makes it gourmet. It's cheap by Disney standards, it's good by any standards, and it might be the best reason to stay at the Polynesian (besides watching fireworks on the beach with a Dole Whip in hand). Captain Cook may have been a colonialist, but his namesake cafeteria? Straight-up legendary.

Pan-Asian Noodles and Vegetables

We frequently visit Capt. Cook's when visiting WDW, and enjoy their noodles! We also tried the flatbread pizza this time and it wasn't bad. The service is pretty decent and the decor matches the theme of the hotel. It's a little pricey, but it's Disney.

Mickey Waffles
Madison K.

Stopped here for breakfast before going to Magic Kingdom. I like how it feels more elevated than a budget resort cafeteria as you have to order your food at a counter and they will bring it to you. On the other hand, I like the variety of options at a budget resort. oh well. I ordered the Mickey waffles with sausage. I would've preferred an à la carte Mickey waffle with eggs or something but I didn't really have a lot of time to process my order. The food came pretty quick, although I had to get up a couple times to visit the coffee dispenser as they were brewing more the first time. The cafe felt Polynesiany but it's no Ohana. I mean, I wasn't going for the ohana experience- I needed a quick breakfast. It worked for that but I wish it felt more Polynesiany.

It's something different ok! I'll grab a bite here over the regular Disney quick service any day. In short; I love the pulled pork nachos. I don't like the noodles (shrimp or vegetables) too wet for me. I think the spicy chicken is pretty good, nice spice. The decor is meh, but it's quick service and not supposed to be anything fancy. The staff is, as always, polite and friendly. As far as price goes, it's about $11-15 per order so pricey, but in-line with regular Disney quick service.

Tonga Toast
Lauren H.

I finally stopped in to try the Tonga toast and it did not disappoint! Well, mostly. I did try to cut into the outside and the crust was a bit tough. Almost a bit stale. Once I made it to the soft center, I couldn't stop eating it! I love a good cinnamon and sugar waffle, French toast, anything! Side note, the bacon is always yummy at Disney!

Pulled Pork Nachos

Food was delicious, wish we could've done things more custom and that there was more variety but the chips were crispy and flavorful with all the toppings

Delicious!!!

Whenever we go to Disney, we make it a point to stop by here for the Thai coconut meatballs. Since discovering them many years ago, they have NEVER failed in how delicious they are. Even during the pandemic, my wife has gotten so close to replicating them at home - that's how good they are. Its mouth watering as I write this. Get a taste and experience the sweetness, tenderness, spiciness, and flavor. Delicious all the way. Leaves you wanting more.

Located inside of the Polynesian resort this quick serve restaurant is easy to grab a snack or full meal. To find this spot you'll walk down the left hallway if you're coming from the check-in area. You'll pass a bathroom area and then see it straight ahead. They have a display menu board overhead that you can glance through as you wait in what is usually a pretty short line. They do have some cold case options like fruits, pastries, drinks, and salads. If you're on the lookout for a fun Disney dessert, they have cute cupcake offerings in this case as well. The staff is very good about moving the line quickly and offer the Disney service one comes to expect from the mouse. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, but as it's regularly hot in FL, you'll most likely want an inside option. The seating area is small, and it can sometimes take a minute to get a seat. Overall: A- Solid quick serve option for guests staying at the resort or just passing through it.

Such a flavorful burger that I didn't find too over the top. I had a few of my party's truffle fries and they were incredible as well. We chose seats at the bar and were greeted promptly by Brian and Rowan. Because there were a lot of people and just the two of them, they were running around taking orders from tables as well as servicing the bar so it did take a little bit to get our drink orders in, but we were enjoying looking through the whiskey library anyways. I started off with a Suncreek blonde ale. It is strawberry blonde ale and it's delicious. My husband started with the Yingling. He keeps hoping they will bring the Kentucky bourbon ale back on tap again. For lunch, I got the whiskey dip which is full of chopped beef with cheese and onions. Served with an herb, dipping sauce, and your choice of side. I opted for the sweet potato waffle fries because they are delicious. My husband got a burger with fries cooked perfectly. Once we are done with our food, we did opt for a taster. My husband had to go through several different bottles before he found one they actually had in stock. That is one of the downside is the whiskey library that is online is not always reflective of what they actually have in stock as he was really looking forward to trying the old Fitzgerald birthday, but alas, they did not have it in stock. He ended up going with the jack Daniels 12 year and really enjoyed it. I opted for the widow Jane 14 year very sweet easy to drink. Great service from Bryan and Rowan always enjoy seeing them behind the bar

Wailulu is a gorgeous restaurant and bar with sweeping views of Bay Lake. Much of the amazing art comes from recycled materials (waste) recovered from the ocean. We planned our dinner reservation so we could watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks. (They pipe in the music, too!). We were fortunate to have a table by the window. In cooler months, there are plenty of spots outside with probably even a greater view. Roberto was our server, and he was fantastic. He gave us excellent recommendations from our drinks through dessert. Ask if you can sit in his section and you won't be disappointed. We started the night with an old fashioned (with banana liqueur) and a mai tai. They were lovely. We then shared the ahi tuna nachos which are not to be missed. I could make that my dinner and be happy! My husband and daughter also loved the chicken wing appetizer. Roberto recommended the kampachi fish in a green curry. (It was the grilled fish of the day.) This dish was fabulous. A true star. And my husband very much enjoyed their Wayfinder burger, hailed to be the best on property. Roberto timed our crème brûlée to arrive at the table right after the fireworks ended. It was quite a magical meal. If you're choosing between Ohana and Wailulu at Disney's Polynesian Resort, definitely choose Wailulu. Always.

While one of their more popular items is the aforementioned Gray Stuff, I was looking to get LeFou's Brew. This is a non-alcoholic drink that had frozen apple juice as a base, toasted marshmallow flavoring, and topped with a passion fruit and mango foam. There's an option to get it in a souvenir mug, but I decided to get it in a regular plastic cup. The drink was...fine? The color of the foam and the frozen drink were very similar, so there was no illusion of the topping being a foam. The flavor was pretty good - I was able to differentiate the foam from the base drink from a flavor perspective, but overall this whole thing left me unimpressed. Service was good - the cast member taking care of me was very friendly. Even though I wasn't impressed with what I got from Gaston's, I wouldn't write it off just yet. The menu is preset so be aware of that going in, but the menu is pretty kid (and adult) friendly as it's Thanksgiving themed. The interior is beautiful and it's a nice, relaxing spot to eat at for a break. Our waiter was very friendly and the food came out pretty quick. As a heads up this is an all you can eat establishment (for around $40-45 bucks a head) so you can eat to your heart's desire. The meal starts off with their house salad featuring greens, apples, cranberries, and cheese all tossed together. It was surprisingly much better than we thought it would be and if not for maximizing what we ate while there we wouldn't have minded getting more. Following up the salad is a feast of: roasted turkey, pot roast, pork loin, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, and Mac and cheese. We absolutely dove in. The turkey was alright, not dry (a huge plus) with the pot roast being a much better option in our opinion. The pork loin was delicious with a nice sweet glaze on it. The mac and cheese likewise was good and creamy along with a savory and filling stuffing. The only misses we would say were the mashed potatoes which felt thin and flavorless and then the green beans which really just took up space. For dessert they have their oooey gooey toffee cake which is very sweet but admittedly difficult to put down after the main course. It's not overly sweet too which is nice to finish your meal on. By the end of our meal we were stuffed and ready to tackle the rest of the night. We would say for the price this might not be the best option for those doing Disney on a budget but if you are a pro at making buffets stretch then this is a decent deal. A solid, filling meal all around and one that is very palette friendly for all.
