Our boat captain seemed pretty disinterested most of the time, occasionally pointing out sights but we had to ask him for information most of the time. He spent a lot of time on his phone, occasionally driving too fast over the waves, we actually got completely soaked at one point. We also never got the advertised and promised homemade limoncello, which was kind of disappointing. Despite missing out on the finer details, it was a beautiful ride around Capri.

He tried to show us as much of the island as he could in the couple of hours that we had. The boat itself was clean, lots of comfy space for you to lie down and tan! They recommended a great place for lunch and we had time to ourselves for shopping and picture taking. From there we got back on the bus and went down to Capri where we were taken on lemoncello tasting, chocolate tasting and some other goodies. From there we went to the Augustus Gardens which were absolutely beautiful. A little more shopping, back on the bus to the ferry and back to mainland with wonderful memories. We called him back and he said he would make sure we were able to sail around Capri and he checked in with us EVERYDAY. It was time for us to leave to Positano but we actually came back on our 2nd to last day in Italy to take our trip! Marco was our tour guide/boat captain and he is great! He's young, I forgot what he said around 23/24 but he's fantastic and super knowledgable. He somehow convinced my normally reserved husband to jump off the cliff into the water. It was such a memorable moment!! We did the private tour which was right around 4 hours. The boat had clean towels, prosecco, water, soda and we had brought some snacks for ourselves. Bring sunscreen & a hat! Capri Whales is located by the marina when you get off your ferry from Naples/Positano/Wherever. They have a cute dog name CJ and he is usually sitting outside. If you are afraid of the language barrier, Wendy and her family are actually from CT so she speaks english perfectly.

The gentlemen that show you how to drive the boat speak English very well. It takes about 15 min or so for them to give you instructions (Btw, we are both inexperienced in this category) after that, you wait for the next boat and you're off on your own! You are also given a map of the island with main points and where you can anchor your boat to swim, eat, or beach. We drove around the big fancy yachts and waved at other people passing by. Make sure you ride through the Faraglioni rocks! There's lots of spots you can hop off for a bite to eat or lay out on a beach all around the island. This was the absolute BEST way to see Capri.

We were a little worried about the rough sea but he was very skilled. He was able to get into some cool areas that we could see other boats were avoiding, and he knew a lot of interesting facts about Capri and Anacapri. We didn't think to do this, but I would suggest bringing or requesting some Prosecco or wine for the trip....that was the only thing that was missing. We exchanged many e-mails about a walking tour and a boat tour around Capri which included a transfer to Positano. The day tour was simply spectacular. Our guide was born in Capri but educated in England and his English (and Italian of course) was impeccable. It was like touring with a history professor only there was no test at the end! We walked all through Anacapri at the top of the island visiting many fascinating churches, villas and small cafe's and specialty shops. We then took one of the many open top taxi's to the center of the island and walked all through the small cobblestone back streets and alleys seeing things you would simply never know were there without a guide. Our tour finished with an incredible lunch overlooking the sea and a list of other things to see didn't require a guide which we did over the next few days. When it came time to leave Capri we met our boat captain at the Grande Marina where he took us to the boat we had selected on-line. It was a 38' power boat with a dressing room and restroom below and a huge deck out back to enjoy the sun. We circumnavigated the island stopping at the Blue Grotto (a must see), sped under the Faraglioni where it is traditional to kiss as you pass through and then stopped at a fantastic ocean side restaurant on the way to Capri that looked like it was only accessible by boat. It was like a scene out of a movie with old Italian guys sitting around playing board games and drinking local wine in their bathing suits. The food was simply unreal and the experience of arriving by private boat renewed my interest in playing the lottery. After lunch we stopped for a swim at the private island Li Galli that was owned by Rudolf Nureyev. You just stop in the ocean and jump off! After the swim our captain took us to the private dock in Positano where a porter was waiting to collect our luggage and escort us to the hotel. All in all a once in a lifetime experience made even more special by the care and attention of Rebecca at Capritime Tours.

To top it off I was traveling with my puppy and they became best friends even staying with her on the boat when she was tired of swimming but I still wanted to swim a bit more lol. Truly the best! Even though the plan was 1 boat day we added a second because Day 1 was great and it was the same price to go on a tour of Positano/Amalfi by boat than by van....and obviously there's no comparison on the experience there. Camillo gives you and your group (one price for up to 12 people) a boat tour of Capri and Anacapri on his very own wooden boat. He grew up on the island of Capri and knows literally everything about the island!! There are several tours available, both different times of the day and different lengths of time. We did the base tour which was 2.5 hours. He brought us to several beautiful caves, gave us the opportunity to swim, and even drove us under the love arches of the rocks of Faraglioni. Camillo was very personable, knowledgeable, and was beyond thrilled to share all of his info on both Capri and Anacapri with us. He was more than willing to take pictures for us the entire time, make recommendations for how to spend the day on the island, and at the end of the tour he even had us try his mom's homemade limoncello. This boat tour was truly amazing and I would recommend it to everyone!! Well worth the money and time!! Note: he does not take you INTO the Blue Grotto, you will pass by it however and you will also see several other caves with the same beautiful color. You can always pay 14 Euros before/after the tour if you're interested in going inside (weather-permitting).

Even for 10am, it was still quite busy on the dock. We should have stayed on the island of Capri. We paid €18 per person and were told which dock to wait at. Easy process to board the boat. There was a decent amount of people onboard, with an entertaining navigator who made many "interesting" jokes throughout the tour. Apparently it was his first time sailing solo, and I thought he did a good job. We went around the whole island of Capri, in awe at its stunning beauty. Pictures don't do it justice, but I attempted taking videos anyways. Finally we came upon the Blue Grotto (last stop) where it was insanely crowded at high tide... too busy to actually go in. The second half of our ticket was to get on ANOTHER boat for the Blue Grotto tour, which wasn't communicated to us until we were actually looking at the landmark. Kinda frustrating since we went through all this trouble. We didn't feel like waiting 3-4 hours to MAYBE get into the Blue Grotto. Instead we did other tourist things and told ourselves we'd stay on Capri next time and spend more time exploring the island. Everything is absolutely beautiful, and we had a positive experience. It was just blindsiding NOT to do the tour we were looking forward to all week!
