Gross pizza. We ordered a bbq chicken pizza with half bacon and it was made incorrectly (made with bacon on the whole pizza). They offered to remake us a new one which was nice, but it took another 20 mins which was aggravating as we had a screaming infant in the car. We got home and our pizza was like cardboard--incredibly dry and tasted like leftover pizza that had been sitting out for a week. The crust had so much flour, it looked cracked from being cooked. We've honestly had better pizza from dominos. We've had not great pizza here before but decided to try again--this will be our last trip here. read more

Ended up at Capone's after a tiring and long day of helping someone move. I was not expecting much given its proximity to the Motel 6 and that I walked in close to closing time. For one of my first reviews I'd like to keep it short and to the point. You're better off going to MARCOS Pizza across the street. Capones Pizza bar seems like it could be a nice place under better management. The food is slapped together, the waitresses pander to the local crowd (obviously) and the place is DIRTY (YIKES) HONESTLY just GO TO MARCOS lol. My son and I went to Capone's for several years for lunch every Friday. The service and food was always great, and the restaurant was always clean. In the last several months, we went once for our Friday lunch and had a very disappointing experience. I had to wipe food off the cushions, different waitress, and service was very slow. The check was also incorrect. Yesterday, my son and I decided to try Capone's again, and found the restaurant to be dirty, we were not acknowledged for about 10 minutes, and decided to just pay for our drinks and not order any food. Strange place. Hours on the door are wrong. The place was dark, dirty, and cold. They were washing the floor and had all the windows open so it smelled like chemicals but somehow was still dirty. Bathroom smelled to high Heaven. Pizza was good. Service was SLOW. We were the only customers at lunchtime and it took forever to get our pie. Dessert was a total bust: stale limoncello cake, over-microwaved apple "crisp" that was a hot, sloppy, mushy mess. I grew up in Branford,Ct and used to go to a place that's long gone, Danny's Pizza. Capone's reminded me of my childhood favorite, but it was event better. We ordered a small mushroom, olive and pepperoni and it was so good, hot out of the oven with delicious home made sauce and the perfect crust. We ate every bite! Apparently they just moved to a new location with plenty of parking and it sits up on it's own little hill for easy visibility. The bar was really cute and there were lots of regulars there already. They had three different TV's with everything from sports to Pixar type movies. The dining room was decorated nicely and it was great for families or date night. It wasn't cluttered so I'm pretty sure it was full handicapped access. Our waitress Jessica said that she and her fiance opened it at the new location very recently and are getting married in October. I love that this is a real mom and pop local business. I'd rather support that any day, and we can't wait until our next visit in the fall to come back and eat again. read more

I have gone to Capones before and had no issues, the food is good, staff friendly, but I was in yesterday and the restaurant was about 80 degrees the entirety of the time my group was in there. We complained multiple times about the heat and nothing was done, we were practically dripping in sweat. And we were not the only table complaining. Completely uncomfortable and unenjoyable. Turned me off from the place completely. Who wants to eat covered in sweat? If you want customers to return, turn on the damn air. read more

I'll start by saying I don't review places often, I usually try to give people the benefit of the doubt but in particular instance I felt I had to write a review. Me and 2 friends stopped in Capone's on our way to NY from RI. We came across us while searching for a bite to eat online, the reviews looked great so we decided to try it out. When first walking in we were not greeted and simply had to find a seat for ourselves. The restaurant was filthy, there was dust everywhere, not flour, dust! Our table didn't look like it's been cleaned in days. We sat there for almost 15mins without being asked if we wanted anything to drink. Finally, a waitress, and I say that loosely because there was no people skills decided to make an appearance at the table. She came to the table with no smile, or manners and only 2 menus, even though there was 3 of us. We haven't even gotten water or some sort of bread at this point. We asked for two beers and a mixed drink which then took another 10mins despite the place being dead. On top of it all while looking through the menus we saw a cockroach climb up the wall next to us. A live, adult cockroach! That was the last straw, I went to the counter to the waitress who couldn't be bothered and asked for our check, we paid in cash to make our exit as quick as possible. With our stomached turned and our appetites squashed we got back in our car disgusted and upset at the whole experience. I would NEVER return here again and highly suggest anyone else who decides to eat here to bring some bug spray and maybe a mop. Seems like they need the help. read more

I had never visited Capone's at their old location, but since they moved I was able to stop in and try their food for the first time. The new location is so clean and inviting. I was so impressed by the service and the food! Our waitress was so kind and it was easy to grab someone on the waitstaff if we had questions. Everyone who was working seemed happy to be there and was welcoming. The food was great! We ordered the zucchini fries and they were delicious and so fresh! The sauce and cheese on the pizza were delicious as well! Definitely order a cannoli if you get the chance, they are to die for. I will definitely be returning to Capone's! read more

I placed an order for pickup on a Friday night and was beyond shocked to find the massive amounts of people without masks inside the small restaurant, both at the packed tables and drinking at the bar. People were lining the doorways and there was clearly no enforcement of social distancing by the establishment. On top of all this, after waiting 45 minutes to pick up the order, I was told that they didnt have my order, nor did their North Branford location. I chalked it up to maybe I had made a mistake, but when I got back to my car to double check the phone number I had called to place the order, it was, in fact, the Branford Capones phone number I had called. Based on their clear lack of respect for public safety, as well as the lack of responsibility taken for misplacing my order, I will not be ordering from this establishment again. read more

Capone's Pizza Bar is A-OK in my book. A great little place with a regular crowd at the small bar, tended to by very friendly wait staff and bartenders who know the regulars by first name. Capone's is the little restaurant that almost is hidden...you really have to look for it, because if you are driving along US 1 at the speed limit, you have about two seconds to spot it before you miss the small parking lot. Capone's recently added some neon or red LED to its very small road sign, and that really helps, but on some nights the sign is out of service...so, again, this is how easy it is to miss this place.
