Sadly I have to leave one star, otherwise I wouldn't have left any. We went here around Easter, told we would be there for a 2 hour presentation, it ended up being 6+ hours. I even explained I had to get back to my special needs daughter that my very old mother was watching. They didn't care, was constantly put off saying just a few more mins. Juli H was who sold us the most inexpensive timeshare. Was told she would help us indefinitely as long as "we were good to her". I didn't feel good about the purchase, it never felt right but thought here's a wonderful rep that will help us when we need her. Boy was I wrong. She has continually put me off since Easter! She sent the initial text to me asking what dates we were looking at. I sent those back to her and didn't hear from her for days on end so text her again, was told the same thing, put off for days again. Last text I sent I wasn't very pleased and she told me to relax and she would get back to me. lol. She never has. The last text to her was in early May, it's now near June and absolutely nothing from her. She lured us in, showed us gorgeous resorts we could stay at. We ended up doing the go weeks and what a joke those are. Absolutely nothing local and the bottom of the barrel resorts. What a scam. I will do all I can to get out of this contract if that means hiring an attorney. Please please please do not buy into this company. Juli H has shown us just how their customer service is and speaks very loudly for how paying customers will be treated. Not only that but they make the vacations look amazing. The free resort we stayed at for their presentation, the TV fell off the wall and the hot tub was cloudy and smelled like something rotten. Also the lady at the front desk gave us a hard time about our service dog. I almost forgot, Juli told us as long as we are Capital Vacation timeshare owners we can go to any timeshare and use their pool etc but to call ahead in case they have any events. We didn't call ahead to the Prince Resort at Cherry Grove Pier, just happen to be fishing there. There was no events so my husband asked could our daughter put her feet into the hot tub because she was cold. He explained we were timeshare owners and the lady at the front desk said we couldn't. This company stinks at customer service! We have been trying to communicate with them for months and months without hearing anything from them. I wanted to get in touch with someone about my timeshare that I have a major and pressing issue with, but they never respond to me. Not the sales rep, not the customer service people, no one! I need to email someone about my problems, but I just keep getting the silent treatment. Don't be fooled by the website or the bright colors. The accommodations at Calypso Cay were 3rd rate at best! We stayed in Building 25, room 301. Almost none of the bedroom drawers worked. None of the light switches for table lamps and bedside lamps ran lamps in the rooms Every one of the mattresses sagged to the middle of the bed. The floors in the Queen Bedroom would likely be condemned and found not suitable for inhabitants, if these rooms had been examined by a county Building Inspector (based on my experience as a construction superintendent.) My 10- and 4-year-old grandsons wouldn't sleep in the Queen room, because the floor was "spongy feeling" and creaked badly when walked on. Even little kids got it, but not the Calypso Cay staff - who overlooked these issues. When I checked out early (at the request of my wife) and notified the staff about the unacceptable status of our room, there was no attempt to mitigate the poor status of the accommodations. I was told that I would receive an email that I could notify management (as there were none on-site yesterday afternoon at approximately 2 PM.) No email has been forthcoming. When we took our "tour," and let them know of our experience, their response was, "You should let the Front Desk know... Maybe we can get you a free week." However, when we did not purchase additional points, we were quickly escorted to the front desk for our gift and directed out of the building. In addition, we were informed that the buildings in the area we were assigned is under renovation and that Silver Lake has been renovated and is in much better shape. If the building that we were housed in was under significant renovations, "Why were me and my family subjected to these 3rd rate accommodations, particularly when Capital Vacations is attempting to get us to purchase points toward future vacations?" Based on all of the above, and the fact that not one of the Capital Vacation Club websites offer support to guests; lots of sales, make reservations, but no support for your guests, my wife and I are very hesitant to even consider discussions with Capital Vacations. read more

We were offered a deal for a week in Sedona, Arizona if we sat through an hour long sales pitch. During the Sales presentation, we were told our deeded Time Share at Bear Lake was going to have the fees go up dramatically in the next few years. We were also told that CV would buy out our Deed and give us a more flexible point system within the CV Network. Under the guises of what he had been told we bought into CV. Once we got home and started to do the math on the point system, we realized we had been lied to by the Salesperson, Manager, and Quality Assurance Guy. We also checked to see if our fees were going up at our Timeshare at Bear Lake at the rate explained to us in Sedona. Again, another lie. We rescinded the Contract and got our payment refunded. "White glove service" scam! We recently stayed at the Hollywood Beach Towers, FL. At the time of reservation representative offered us "white glove service" for $125.00 that actually nobody at this place had any idea about, neither the front desk nor Capital Vacation. A voucher $100.00 credit for dining that was supposed to be emailed to us, we never received. I called them during our stay on Saturday without resolution, I called them on Monday asking for my money back, she took notes, somebody will call, she said. Now I am third day back home, they finally called, after going back and forth, she goes like oh, we had wrong email, will send you voucher now, I told her I don't want their voucher for $100.00 because even spent $25 for service that doesn't exist is a waste of money. I asked her just to give me my money back, and she goes like, that service is not refundable. What a BS, selling something you won't get and then refuse to credit this fraudulent charge! read more

These morons call me multiple times a week, don't leave a message, but blow up my phone from several different numbers that all appear local. Annoying, but whatever, right? Well, no. I am currently putting my mother through hospice care locally and get different calls from the same (local) area code from her various doctors, nurses, social workers, etc. And when I answer, 1 out of 3 times it isn't my mother's team... it's another one of these scum bags. They have added reservation management at timeshare resorts from which they attempt to corral prospective timeshare buyers. I am writing this review to warn others to stay away from Capital Vacations. I have been more than patient with this company and just keep getting the runaround, even after reaching out to the exit department manager named Jason. We have been owners of our timeshare at Laurel Point for over 30 years and have the deed in hand. I started asking to cancel it back on 12/26/24. After a month of calling and emailing, on 1/27/25, I finally spoke to Destiny, who offered me an exit and quoted an exit cost. She was going to send the offer to our mailing address so we waited and it never came. I followed up with a call on 2/6/25 and learned that Destiny did not have a note on my file. After, many calls and emails, I am still waiting for a cancellation. They say they are backed up and short handed but this is so unprofessional. For what we have paid this company over the years, we expect better. The only upgrade to the unit was the shower in the second bedroom in the 30-plus years we have owned it. Master bathroom, Jacuzzi and shower were never updated. Kitchen counter tops and sink never updated meanwhile the maintenance fees went up every year to the point they are unaffordable. Makes you wonder what they are using the money for. We will not continue doing business with Capital and recommend others to avoid them as well. It should not take hiring an attorney to cancel a timeshare that we have had paid for years ago!!! This is insane! read more

When my wife and I were checking into our timeshare in Myrtle Beach, where we own 2 weeks, we were invited to an update by the company managing the property - Capital Vacations. We were told 1) that it was simply and update about the property, 2) that it would be no more than 60 minutes in length, 3) that we would receive a gift for attending which they specified, and 4) that it was not a sales pitch or presentation. We attended the meeting and were then told about issues at the timeshare and at timeshares in general and were told they would make a one-time offer to convert our deed into a trust they held. It was, after 1 1/2 hours, turning into a sales presentation. Not selling a property, but selling their trust and services in exchange for our deed. We were very angry. Then they said they had sent us notices for 3 years about the state of our timeshare - which we never received. When they pulled out a record of our information in their system we noted an error in their records regarding our address. No wonder we didn't receive their information. But were were receiving, and paying, our annual maintenance bills. So they have multiple addresses on their books. Very disappointed with our visit. read more

My recent experience with Capital Vacations was nothing short of disturbing. I had a call with one of their representatives and it was clear that she had no interest in hearing or addressing my concerns. Her closing remark? "Expect foreclosure proceedings." Absolutely appalling and unprofessional behavior. Our health is not good and we cannot travel due our inability to drive for long periods anymore. We have tried to address this with Capital but they have no empathy or sympathy. They promised that rents from our ownership would pay for it. This turned out to be false. This company has been nothing but a nightmare. When Capital bought out Stormy Point, a quaint little resort that we enjoyed, the problems began! After Capital purchased Stormy Point, we attended a presentation and were led to believe that we had to convert to Capital's system. Over the years they constantly pressured us to purchase additional points claiming our contract was not sufficient. We upgraded a third time, and they assured us that we could pay for the timeshare through rentals. That was a blatant lie and fraudulent. Capital Vacations has been a constant source of stress since they took over Stormy Point. We wish we had never even sat down with Capital. Their tactics are deceptive and customer service is downright nasty. I would strongly advise anyone considering doing business with them to think twice. We are at Four Sails Virginia Beach 7th floor with no elevator working. No idea when it will be operational. Unable to reach a human to talk to at Capital Vacations. I have ambulation issues and no elevator is unacceptable. I want my trading power used for this week put back into my RCI account. This is truly an instance where I'd give zero stars if it was possible. Capital Vacations is a time share company who lures you in with, among other things, great customer service. However, once you make a reservation it is impossible to get a person on the phone and the company's website does not provide a way to email someone and get a response. After a month of trying to cancel an introductory trip (where we'd listen to their pitch) I finally connected with someone today who informed me I would be charged a fee because I was cancelling too close to the trip date. The credit card used to hold the room has long been cancelled and I have filed a complaint with the BBB with time stamped items proving I've been trying to cancel this reservation for a month. Do not waste your time with this company. Their customer service is subpar (at best) and their business practices are unethical. read more

Buyer beware!! Please read your contract with Capital if you do sign, or better yet, just avoid signing all together! In many states, you have a "cooling off" period where if you send, in writing, your desire to cancel with them, you can avoid all of the headaches many people seem to have with Capital. Read your contract right away. If it doesn't seem right, don't delay and send your notification of cancelation. My wife and I did that, and our contract with Capital has been canceled, and a refund was issued. I want to share our story since it seems similar to many others. In 2021, Capital Vacations took over "managing" Calypso Cay, where we had a fixed week, deeded, timeshare. They are an acquisition firm and look to purchase deeds from timeshare properties so they can be the majority shareholder and do whatever they want. Last week was the first time we traveled to Calypso Cay since Capital took over. Anyone planning to go should be aware of some of the tactics Capital Vacations uses to rope people into signing contracts that will be a major financial strain for any family. First, immediately upon checking in, you have to visit another office to receive your parking pass. Instead of just giving you the pass, they coerce you into attending one of their sales presentations, which was promised to be 60 minutes in exchange for a gift. As a current deeded owner, I was told I needed to attend this meeting to activate my new membership with Capital since I haven't been to Calypso Cay since they took over. They also take your credit card and hold a 40 dollar deposit in case you do not show up. The next day was our meeting to discuss the new membership and "upgrades" needed. My wife and I both had to attend, so we needed to bring our 3 kids with us as well. First, the podium speaker took us in to the presentation room and explained how our deeded membership was outdated and that they are going to stop allowing deeded members to use other weeks that they did not originally purchase. In essence, we needed an upgraded membership to a trust ownership. Then, our salesman told us that our maintainence would be going up for our week each year and pulled up an assessment on his computer for our account that said we would have to pay 6k in assessment fees for the year in addition to our maintainence of 1800. He told us the way we could get out of this and avoid future assessments was by turning over our deed to Capital and upgrading into their membership vacation trust. The total cost would be approximately 3,000 in yearly fees, plus over 4,000 a year to pay for an additional 235,000 points plus 160,000 points from our Calypso Cay ownership. We were skeptical so to entice us into signing, he claimed these higher costs would be paid over the year by staying at Capital Resorts and that we would be given priority in booking and more flexibility in where to stay. They claimed we would get .02 cents in cash for every point you used that can be used to pay for annual fees and that this money could be banked for future use. We eventually agreed after 2 hours, and contracts were drafted up. Before signing, we were told what we should say in terms of why we were buying since the closing was being recorded. We were then brought into another room with another person to go over contracts and sign. Upon viewing the contract, I noticed the "upgraded" points were going to wind up costing 40k over 10 years because of a 16% interest rate!!!! 16%, which WAS NOT DISCLOSED by our salesman when he was pitching the offer to us for the upgrade to the trust. How do you not disclose an exorbitant interest rate to your buyers. In the end, stupid us, we signed to get out of there, but 2 days later, we sent our letter of intent to cancel via certified mail to their headquarters in South Carolina. The clerk at the post office in Celebration Florida told me, " I should know this address by heart because this happens more often than you think." That quote says it all. This company is highly fraudulent. They call me weekly and use a number from my contacts to get me to answer the phone. When I called to complain explaining to them that what they are doing is fraudulent. Their manager yelled at me and told me that they can do what they want. Another representative explained that they don't have any control over it and that it's an auto dialer. If you're going to fraudulently call people be prepared to for people to be upset. If you're going on a vacation and have to sit through their "90 minute presentation" (more like 3 hours) do not believe the sales people - they will FLAT OUT LIE to you and show you inflated values of their point system. They will find some "special offer just for you" (they said ohhh you're a business owner well in that case .....) they will try and appeal to you by trying to sound empathetic and like they are relatable almost human beings, which they ARE NOT. If you have to sit through one of their presentations just firmly set your boundaries and do not let them pressure you into making a snap financial decision that will not in anyway possible be in your favor. I could go on and on about how manipulated and violated we were and how harmful it's been to our mental health honestly but I hope at least just one person reads this and learns the truth about these con artists. Lastly you are not an "owner" you're an investor in THEIR company, and mind you - it is 99% of the time CHeAPER to just book your own vacations, same resorts and everything, except they will literally charge you more through there fees and then taxes etc etc etc it's a never ending money grab scheme. They deserve to go down big time, they deserve prison. Our sale lady actuallllly cried alligator tears for my wife when she explained the difficult time we're going through with her mom battling cancer and then had the nerve to use that trust to sell us a WORtHLESS "membership". I am an 81 year old retiree that is constantly being harassed by VRI and their collection agency Meridian Financial Services regarding my two timeshares. I spoke with McCray Conner in November 2024 regarding my maintenance fees. He advised he would send me an exit deed if I paid the invoices. I did as he asked thinking he would honor his part of the deal. He did not. It is now March 2025 and they are demanding additional maintenance fees without and option out deed. Capital Vacations charged $50 to my credit card after I checked out and I have been contacting their team for weeks to figure out why my card was charged. No one responded. Yet they used to call me every single day for months before I said no to buying a timeshare... Overall the whole experience was not worth whatever trip or gifts you may have won or been promised. Would not recommend to anyone. Throughout the whole process there are hidden fees/caveats that they don't tell you about until later and at the end of the day you won't even have saved that much money. read more

Despite that we still gave them the benefit of the doubt and brought one seemed like a good deal. Until we got home and looked up the properties they owned. Outdated and rundown not worth the money. Lacks empathy, doesn't listen to the customer, very transactional, and it caused me to cancel my entire vacation. We became involved with Capital when they bought out Summerwinds where we owned a timeshare with Stormy Point. We informed the Capital Reps that my husband was disabled and we told them at the meeting he was facing 3 back surgeries soon and some other issues. That's when they came back with the "best deal ever offered"! We are in our seventies and even if we had all those points to go stay somewhere we don't have the funds for much travel or the health for it now.. But they kept pushing and told us we could get out with a medical hardship if we needed to. Well, we need to and found that to be just another lie. Due to illness, we can't travel and have asked them to release us from the ownership but they refuse to. We have owned timeshares since 1986 and loved it back then but things are much different now and it's all about greed. Please don't get caught up with Capital Vacations. THE POINTS ARE WORTHLESS. Steer clear of Capital Vacations! We were tricked into thinking these points were a great value with tons of flexibility that we could use to "stay anywhere" at exciting resorts or cash them in to pay off maintenance fees. What they don't tell you is that the cash value of all these points you buy is next to nothing. We couldn't pay off our maintenance fees with them. We couldn't even pay off a quarter of our maintenance fees with them. Not long after our initial purchase with Capital Vacations, we went back for an owners meeting, which was actually just another sales presentation. By our sales rep's own admission, these basic level memberships are very limited. SO WHY SELL THEM? We were worn down and caved in to upgrading. Then again when we went to Orlando, we had another required meeting to go to. During this meeting too, our sales rep confessed that our current level got me "very little" for our money. He got belligerent when we didn't want to upgrade again, and now we want to get out of this altogether. The only honest part of these presentations was when they told us how little Capital Vacations' memberships are worth. We want to end this nightmare for good and warn anyone else who is considering it to turn and run. read more

Came to vacation at the Links resort via Capital Vacations required to attend 120 minute sales pitch. The representative Savannah started off nice but things changed when she realized I was not interested in purchasing. Literally this woman turned rude and bitter. Her face was in a frown and she became very untruthful and personal. I was completely turned off. When questioned about maintenance fees she avoided the questions and just insisted on telling me how I can use my points to pay maintenance fees. Why would I give up my vacations points to pay fees. I want to take vacations, This not the first time these sales reps get irate and rude when you decide not to buy. Not good business. Plus the resort selections are old and outdated. read more
