I made a reservation back in March for a July Myrtle Beach Trip. I was initially booked at The Avista it had All of the amenities that I look for when traveling; lazy river, indoor pool, double beds in 2nd bedroom and in suite washe/dryer. Well into my trip on July 16th I was called and left a Voicemail advising that I was being switched to another resort due to a plumbing issue. I looked up the New resort and was not pleased at all. It looked outdated on the pictures. I called Monster and was told there was nothing they could do about this, I was given an 8 night trip for Free which really wasn't free; get to the resort and find that it is Next door to the Avista, we go inside and just like the pictures on the site it is outdated, old smelling and worn. I have attached some photos to show, there was a pay laundry room on site, only one bed in the 2nd room, no lazy river and to top it off I was able to see people were in fact staying at the Avista. Please BE careful booking with these folks. I'm highly disappointed and will NEVER book with them again. Capital Vacations blamed everything on Monster Reservation Group and Monster Reservation Group blames Capital Vacations, lesson learned. I told both groups that I was going to make Reviews, Posts and tell everyone that will listen. My presentation with Capital was on Friday and we were leaving on Sunday so they had ample time to make this right by moving us for the remainder of our stay but they chose not to. I booked a 4 day 3 night stay at a Myrtle Beach resort through Capital vacations through one of their promotions while staying with an owner at another beach resort hotel. When I called a few weeks later to confirm the reservation, the 1st agent to answer was unable to adequately answer any of my questions about the reservation. I escalated it to , Anderson, her "manager". After every question, I was put on hold for at least 5 min. Eventually he turned out to be totally inept and incapable of answering any of my questions. He was going to call me back but never did! When I called back, there was so much background noise from call center that it made it impossible to hear him. Very poorly run ! Unprofessional! Opposite of Nike, Just DON'T DO IT! Where do I begin? Randomly while at a D.C. function we see sales people, a wheel and allegedly get sold a "deal". I'm a math girl, my partner is logical so we agree to this magical deal, free trips. The sales guy tells us we will have to sit through a sales pitch but not to worry, we don't have to buy anything. Seemed harmless. The ROI (return on investment) is legit so yeah let's try. We both have NEVER experienced this so we had NO idea. We book our trip, stay at the run down resort and definitely don't want to buy anything. I literally tell the man, these resorts are NOT my cup of tea! No shade, I prefer a bell man, room service, baristas in the lobby of my hotels and spa services. We literally couldn't leave after saying NO. The sales people force you to stay. I said NO! I screamed -NO! And even said no in Spanish, and in Portuguese. Heck I said it in Vietnamese, k'hong, All NO! But yeah no, they don't take no for an answer. When one sales person hears enough no's, they bring another sales person over. Our package "deal" went from 30k to 2k in over 3 hours. It's honestly a rat race to get all the "free" items they give and they aren't "free". It does require a fee that is allegedly refunded. Not sure I kept up with any refund. Overall, it is not worth the hassle. Especially if you have money. Save your money, book a nice hotel at a resort from a respectable online booking company and save yourself the headache! They tried to get me to buy a timeshare excuse me "vacation club" when I was standing by the tent at a Nationals game. I had a few mins to kill waiting for my wife so I listened to the guy but growing up in Florida you learn the words "never buy a timeshare" and "watch out for gators in any body of water" by the time you're five years old. They offered me a "special deal" of a $399 package for $299 if I bought a vacation package right then. Needless to say I didn't bite and didn't even consider it and if you're interested in a timeshare I recommend you do a quick search and buy one of them from the legion of owners who are looking to sell at a discount to avoid maintenance fees. read more

Long story short, my non-English speaking mom "won" a 4-day/4-night cruise and a 4-day/4-night hotel stay all for $299 by a representative named "Heavenly" (hehe irony intended) through an expo called the "The Travel & Adventure Show". She explained that we would have the option to pick which one of the two to go on first, how much our food voucher we would've gotten, and we would pick 4 out of the 9 locations for our vacations. In other words, she didn't explain how the schedule generally works. When we called Capital Vacations, it turned out that Heavenly left out a couple of key things. She left out a couple of key requirements: You need to have at least one vacation-goer that's fluent in English and earn an income. Otherwise, you would be ineligible, and would be required to find someone that meets those requirements. She also left out the fact that you have to pick 1 out of the 9 locations for your 4-day/4-night hotel stay and sit down for their timeshare presentation in order to redeem your cruise. When we demanded a refund from Capital Vacations for Heavenly's lying by omission, they refused to because it was past the 30-day refund policy via their terms of service. Their TOS was not discussed when my mom swiped her credit card on that day. I wonder how that manager I talked to on the phone would feel if he wasn't given key information whenever he had to sign up for something . Hopefully he won't feel pissed off for being manipulated to paying a lot of money, and just accept that the refund won't happen due to the terms of service! /s As of today, my mom was able to secure a chargeback which fully refunded money back into her credit card. So if any of you guys paid using Credit Card and the company refuses to refund it back, go to your credit card company and issue a chargeback. It'll take at 30-90 days but it's worth it! They put us at Camelot By The Sea for our hotel, the rooms at first look really nice, a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room and balcony but dont look to close, there was a German cockroach in the kitchen cabinet and where theres 1 theres a lot more and theyre almost impossible to get rid of. The icing on the cake was the rudest person at customer service ive ever met in my life. As someone in customer service I understand the frustration of work but to talk down to me and have a bad attitude for a customer asking a question about the facility is unreal. Don't stay here unless you want an expensive stay at a roach infested hotel with a front desk lady who is better suited for another career. We then went to the tour, told them whwmat happened and told them we dont want to do the tour until they put us in a better hotel and they pretty much gave us the runaround and refused to give us our money back. I recently checked into my unit in Cocoa Beach and was directed to a table run by Capital Vacations to pick up my parking permit. Before handing it over, they told me I needed to sign up for an "owners meeting" to learn about changes happening now that they were managing the resort. This meeting turned out to be a high-pressure sales presentation, not an informational session. The sales team was friendly and convincing. They claimed that converting my deeded timeshare into their points program would: Give me points for my existing ownership Protect me from rising maintenance fees Provide huge travel flexibility Unlock discounts for additional points It sounded good -- too good, as it turns out -- and we ended up buying 500,000 points for $30,000 upfront plus $3,500 per year in club dues. After returning home and trying to use the system, we discovered that almost nothing we were promised was true. We Cancelled -- And You Should Check Your Contract Immediately Once we reviewed our contract, we found we had 10 days to cancel. We were on day 9, so we cancelled in time. Our experience with Capitol Vacations at the Silver Lake Resort was disappointing and showed a clear focus on high-pressure sales rather than proper customer service. At check-in, the front desk agent seemed uninterested in helping and gave only brief yes/no answers. When we arrived at our building, there was a dead cockroach in the lobby. We had been promised a "private entry," but it was simply a shared hotel-style entry with two unit doors. The room appeared unclean and possibly vacant for months. There were ants throughout the unit, visible dust, and a non-working phone, forcing us to walk back to the lobby for help. Although we were moved to a nicer room, it was unclear why guests invited to preview a timeshare would initially be given such poor accommodations. if i could give them 0 stars i would. I would strongly caution anyone considering a membership with Capital Vacations. During the sales process, we were repeatedly pressured and hounded to sign up. We were told verbally that the membership could be canceled if it didn't work for us and were offered financial incentives during the presentation to push us into signing. Shortly after, we experienced significant financial hardship, including my car being stolen. Because of this, we never used the membership at all -- we did not book any stays, complete the welcome service, or receive any benefits whatsoever. When we contacted Capital Vacations to cancel due to hardship and non-use, we were told cancellation was not allowed because of the contract, despite the earlier verbal assurances. There was no empathy or willingness to work with us, even given the circumstances. Communication has been extremely frustrating. We were told they do not handle matters by email and insist on phone calls only. We also asked about recording calls for our own records and were told that recording calls was not allowed. We were further told that they "do not deal with lawyers." These policies made it very difficult to protect ourselves or have clear documentation of what was being said. We have repeatedly requested, in writing, not to be contacted by phone. Despite this, they continue to call us daily, sometimes multiple times a day. At this point, it feels like harassment. We were also informed that late fees would continue to accrue even though we cannot pay at this time and do not want or use the service. There appears to be no reasonable hardship process or meaningful customer support. This has been a stressful and disappointing experience. Silver Lake Resort is terrible: 1. Pool is basic without any kid activities (no slide or big bucket) 2. Suites are old 3. Bed is uncomfortable & so is pull out couch 4. The proper sheets were not provided 5. Only basic cable and most of it was only in Spanish 6. Oven door would not shut all of the way 7. Once you say you don't want to buy - they are extremely rude - a man named Hassan who claims to be the big boss told me that I was being rude and insulting me and that was supposed to get me to buy??? 8. Plugs didn't work 9. Slow internet 10. No up to date charging stations in the room 11. You are charged for pool towels if you don't bring 4 back to your room $20 a towel- they tell you this at check-in - but it's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard and I took pictures to make sure I wasn't charged as I have zero trust in this company It's not even worth all of the free that they supposedly give you - I had to be nasty through 4 people's BS for over 2.5 hours until we were finally able to move on! They, once again, tried to upsell us. As soon as we said we weren't willing to pay more, our "owner's update " was finished and we were shown the door. They told me that to qualify for their so-called "graceful exit program," I have to pay off BOTH the maintenance fees AND the remaining loan balance in full. Are you kidding me? Legal fees, administrative fees, and some mysterious fee based on the number of points I was suckered into buying. I recently stayed at Sedona, AZ when a nice lady suggested an activity we could do there for cheap. When I first agreed, I was under the impression that it was a deal between the hotel and the activity's company, and that's why I could have it for cheap. Instead, she conveniently waited until after I signed all the paperwork to mention that my partner and I had to sit through a presentation for 90 minutes. Or so we thought. Once we actually got to the presentation, the sales people kept us there for 3 HOURS, and they only let us leave because the activity we signed up for was coming up (which we were almost late to.) DO NOT listen to them or attend any of these presentations. While talking to them at first seems pleasant, they will use what they say against you to purchase their product that day, while giving you no respect when you have actual questions (about the price, terms and conditions, etc) or want to leave. I left feeling like I was swindled into participating and frustrated that I wasted half of my vacation day. read more

When booking a stay at the Calypso Resort, we were told the total fee would be $40 for 3 days and 2 nights. However, upon arrival we were charged an additional $125 resort fee, which had never been disclosed beforehand. We were also misled about a supposed $50 deposit and a $40 "inconvenience fee" because we could not attend their required presentation. We were told the presentation would last only one hour, but later pressured into two hours. The qualifications for attending were also misrepresented -- we were not told about potential disqualifications until after the fact, despite having sat through similar presentations with them before. When I contacted the manager, the response was hostile and unprofessional. They refused to refund the $90 related to the meeting, even though the terms were misleading and unfair. This company's business model relies on misrepresentation and hidden fees. Their tactics are predatory and dishonest. Capital Vacations was VERY QUICK to take our $349 After driving 8+ hours on the holiday weekend, we arrived at the resort where Capital Vacations had booked us. The two lovely gentlemen working the front desk at the resort did everything they could to try and locate our reservation but we were told that they had NO RESERVATIONS in their system for us. We called the ONLY number we could find for Capital Vacations and left a voicemail FRIDAY night. Not a single person from the company attempted to contact us until TODAY (monday) because we weren't at the scheduled tour. We had to book another hotel last minute that thankfully had availability for Friday night and then drove back home. My family has had a timeshare in Branson for around 20 years. The Grand Crowne resort has always been a solid place for us; comfortable, accommodating, great campus. It's not the most updated, but it's always been clean and reliable. The new ownership under Capital Vacations has already convinced me to never come back. While the rooms are still a good size, the campus well-kept and clean, the check-in process was an absolutely nightmare that left me literally crying. Check-in starts at 4pm, and they require guests for all properties in the area to check-in at the Grand Crowne resort main lobby rather than at their own properties. I came for a short solo trip with my dog so we could enjoy the hiking in the area. One day, two nights. It took over an hour and a half of waiting in line to be able to check-in. It was hot, I was visible sweating and had not brought in my water because this was unprecedented. After finally getting my room, I was sent to another desk to get my parking pass, where I was subjected to another 30+ minutes of trying to be forced/coerced into a "90-minute" meeting which I did not have the time for on my one day trip. Even after letting them know I had a medical condition that meant I needed to get to my room so I didn't end up passing out in the lobby because of how long I'd been standing there and sweating, they continued to try to pressure me into the "owners update". I'm not even the owner of the timeshare. It took over two hours just to check-in. I'd be surprised if the sales pressure/pitch was even legal. read more

I need to cancel my timeshare immediately and I need to warn everyone else about how awful this experience has been. Capital Vacations has trapped me helplessly in a timeshare I do not want and have been trying to get out for over a year but the only 'solution' they provided was completely unaffordable. They wanted $66000 to buy my way out. I can't afford that and when I've tried talking to them about other options they have left me with nothing so far. I need to get in touch with a supervisor who can do anything for us. They lied to me to get me to buy more points I never wanted with claims that I needed to buy more points to get my ex-wife's name off the timeshare and false promises that upgrades would bring longterm savings. So my husband and I reached out to customer care specialists hoping to have an honest conversation about how we were brought into this situation due to a series of lies and deceptions from the sales reps, but they dismissed everything we tried to talk about and pushed us to go to a class on how to "better use" our points. Surely there has to be a supervisor we can speak to about this unusual circumstance. We don't want more classes or presentations. We want to end this timeshare and we wish we'd never gotten into it in the first place. read more

My parents bought a timeshare at A Place at the Beach, Windy Hill in North Myrtle when I was a child. We have always enjoyed this property and it has been passed down to me. We recently stayed. Upon check-in, we had to wait to meet with a guy to get our parking pass and pool wristbands. Upon waiting and sitting down with the guy to get that stuff, he proceeded to pressure me to attend a "meeting" to "update" our deed. The meeting would be 8:00 the following day. Knowing this company's reputation for high pressure sales pitches, I politely declined. I'm quite happy with my ownership and have no desire to deal with this company. I don't want to purchase anything from them. The guy kept insisting that we attend this meeting, the next day. I was only trying to get my parking pass and wrist band for the pool. Do not fall for this pressure. Stand your ground or you will end up in a high pressure sales pitch, even greater than when you are just trying to get your parking pass. These meetings typically last 2 to 3 hours. They relentlessly come at you with other sales people and refuse to accept no for an answer. They wear you down. They "sweeten" the deal. They make you feel dumb for refusing their sell. It is pretty stressful and a very unpleasant experience to say the least. I am highly annoyed that Capital requires you to "meet with the representative" in order to get your parking pass! You would have thought that I denied him food. They always try and make you feel like you are dumb or missing out on something for saying no. I respectfully repeated my no's several times. He huffily made me sign a piece of paper saying I had declined. Run from these people. Stand your ground. From what I know through family members who have fallen for their scam, I know that everything they tell you is a bunch of lies and their "product or points" they want you to buy are worthless. They are relentless in the pressure to sell you this crap. Run away! read more

When attempting to cancel I had an aggressive individual (joe) that told me that "every contract is different" and that he could not point out where in the contract it is indicated no cancellation. Don not lie to make a sale. I sent a certified letter to their address in Myrtle Beach to cancel as well. Additionally, attempting to contact any person via customer service by phone or email is met with no answers or voicemails. Through an accounting error by my husband, we over paid fees to a timeshare on Fort Meyers beach managed by Capitol Vacations. After months of inquiring, through formal written requests, and discovering Capitol Vacations Management Company had been holding close to $1,000.00 of or funds without putting it on the books for over 3 months! I found this out on 10/15/2025, at which time I made a formal request to refund the balance of overpayment to me I full. I was told by a lady named Sarah W. at Capitol Vacations that I could not get a refund and only a credit towards next year, 2026. Refusing a refund to me overpayment charges is most likely illegal, or at least not related to good customer relations or correct procedures for timeshare property management!. read more

We haven't even attended the presentation yet, and we're already experiencing issues. I paid extra for a 2-bedroom suite specifically to accommodate our children during the presentation stay. Despite calling twice to fix the reservation, it still shows as a 1-bedroom. We've received almost no documentation regarding the initial $499 payment I made, and we've been unexpectedly charged an additional $50 to make the reservation. What we thought we bought was not what we got. The 20,000 points are only good for a few run down resorts. Stay away and don't trust them.

First, there are hidden fees that you are not made aware of at the time of purchasing the $249.00 so -called 3 "free" vacation. You are responsible for the airfare, taxes, getting to and from the airport, and to the presentation! They have an income requirement that you are not informed about until you're ready to schedule your first trip. If, the income is not above 50,000 although you purchased this trip for $249 you don't qualify for the trips. They should tell you this before you spend the $249. The hotels that put you accommodated in are 1 and 2 star hotels. The joke is they want you to buy a timeshare! After stay in a subpar hotel, having to provide transportation to get to the presentation and having to have a credit card was too much for this scam! Once I arrived at the presentation, there was no one at the desk to greet . The lobby room was very small. The Presentation didn't start on time because no one was at the front desk. I was disappointed in the lack of information presented to me at the time of purchase. Although, these questions were asked. I supposedly spinna wheel and won a free cruise and 2 trips. The Cruise includes airfare. This was a lie. If, you have a place to stay and once with tender presentation this is my recommendation. Do not give any money for the purchases of these trips without getting all the information regarding income requirement, how do you get to and from the airport and presentation. read more

Capital Vacations could not care less about the harm their contracts inflict on their customers. As a matter of fact, they are more interested in maximizing your misery than anything else. Insanely high fees, stiff and disinterested customer support. They don't care about much your circumstances change, whether it's your health, finances, or even the loss of a loved one, Capital wants to shackle their customers to their contracts til the end of time! This company is ran by the coldest people on the planet. All I want is to end my ownership, but they want to hold me captive for tens of thousands of dollars. Purchased a 2, 000 dollar sample package to stay at Stormy Point in Branson Missouri. When we arrived we were given keys and no explanation of amenities. Upon arriving at our unit the door was wide open which we thought was strange. Pillow cases were not put on. We checked our keys before going out that night and they didn't work. Got a second set which didn't work. Instead of moving us to a working unit they said just let the security guard take care of it when we got home. So, 11 pm at night the security guard can't get the door open either! Thank goodness James the maintenance man reprogrammed our door and got us in! Our decision was made right then that this is not a company to invest our money in. We have owned Shell Vactions and Wyndham and have been very satisfied with their customer service. Sorry Capital, but we are not a good fit. We will be attending ourMANDATORY presentation Friday, since they hold your 100 dollars hostage, and will let them no how dissatisfied we are. Capital is the worst. No doubt about it. The value is awful. The system is so convoluted that even with assistance, it still didn't make much sense. The points are not worth NEARLY as much as they make them out to be. And their communication and customer service stinks. I emailed them because this has become a financial headache. They never emailed me back, but then I got a call. Now that I want out of my contract, they are trying to demand a ransom of around $10,000 bucks from me. It's all scammy junk. They take as much as they can and give you as little as possible in return. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH Capital Vacations. They are very deceptive!! I was led to believe that by moving to Capital Vacations, I could leave my Bluegreen timeshare behind entirely. The salesperson made it seem like I would no longer have to deal with Bluegreen and could instead enjoy Capital Vacations' inventory and benefits. She focused heavily on acquiring ASPIRE points from Bluegreen and how I could use their site inventory, which sounded like a great deal at the time. I made it very clear that I no longer wanted anything to do with Bluegreen and was ready to transition fully to Capital Vacations. The salesperson encouraged this and gave me the impression that I would be free of Bluegreen. However, what she conveniently failed to mention was that I would still be stuck with Bluegreen and its associated costs, while also paying for Capital Vacations. This was a complete shock to me and not at all what I understood from our conversation. The whole process felt incredibly deceptive. The salesperson knew what I believed and did nothing to clarify or correct my understanding. I've never even used the timeshare, and now I'm stuck paying for two timeshares I don't want. When I complained, they, of course, denied everything and refused to take any accountability. I feel completely misled and taken advantage of. I would not recommend Capital Vacations to anyone. Be very cautious and make sure you get everything in writing because their sales tactics are, in my opinion, highly deceptive. read more

Got a package and loved my trip. Got a cruise and other things. The places are very nice.

Just say no! If you want your free trip and the $150 gift card, I do not blame you, but don't let them sell you. Just say no. These people are the kings and queens of the hard sell high pressure tactics. They will say and do anything to get the deal to close. The concept is a great one and the presentation makes it sound so easy, and you can go anywhere in the world, stay in any hotel, and just use the points you have in your bank to do it. For $25k for a lifetime of travel it sounds like a great deal. My wife and I got a free trip, and we ended up going to Myrtle Beach- but for the free trip we had to sit through the 90-minute presentation. This was almost 4 hours. The presentation itself took about 20 minutes but then the hard sales and pressure started. After saying no to them at least a dozen times, they threw in an extra 200k bonus points plus unlimited "go-weeks" forever. This sounds like an amazing deal, and we simply could not pass it up. We left super excited thinking that we could travel wherever for $350 a week. We could even give weeks to friends who were traveling. I mean how great is that? And they sit at the table and show you all the cool places in their system you can go to. Amazing. We finally said yes. I walked into the "finance office" with a guy who had to read from a script- there were no pictures on the walls and my years of watching American Greed were screaming at me it is a scam it is a scam. So, I quickly googled "is Capital Vacations a scam" post after post about how it is a scam, and you cannot get out of it once you are in it. Fees go up all the time and every "owner dinner" is just another chance to squeeze more money out of you. I start to freak out in the finance office, and I am ready to pull the plug. I asked if there was a cancellation policy and thankfully in the great state of South Carolina you have 5 days to cancel. We suggest cancelling and the finance guy goes into full take-away mode about how we do not need to do this and someone else can get the deal we got instead. I believed this nonsense too. After we got home from our trip, we knew we only had 5 days in which to cancel so we sat down to look at the system and see where we could go on points and how great it was. I was told any hotel that you can book on Expedia will be in their system and you can use points. I looked for the Grand Vien Hotel in Vienna it is an IHG hotel. No such luck. But I searched through the hotels, and I found that while yes, I can use my points, using a massive amount of points (200k) only discounts the cost of the hotel. There was one hotel in Vienna I could stay at for points only, but I would not stay there if you paid me. We scoured the site hoping to God that the $25k we just spent was worth it. Go weeks were exceedingly rare most places we could go only had occupancy for two and there were so few places available anywhere in the world. Sure, you can use your points at the ten resorts in the US that look fine, but this was not what we signed up for. I immediately wrote a letter of cancellation and then had it sent overnight to make sure we were within the 5-day cancellation period. Thankfully, it all worked out in the end. My contract was cancelled, and my credit card was refunded. Keep in mind they charge ridiculous interest on the 120-month loan- and in the end I would have ended up paying $35,760 for smoke and mirrors on top of the $1,400/yr maintenance fee. Save yourself the headache that I went through and do not sign up with this company. While I would say they are not a complete scam you 100% will not get what you think you are getting. Capital Vacations is driving us crazy! We just want out, but we get called nonstop, and the spam calls are exhausting. All they do is make us even more sick of them, but they're so insistent on calling over and over, it is the worst. This has to be the worst customer service experience we've ever endured in my life! We have to get out of our contract and get as far away from these maniacs as possible. No one should have to put up with their awful behavior. read more
