Getting ready to rock n roll

This was so much fun and very educational. The tour guide (Rafael I think) was excellent with voluminous knowledge tempered with humor. Riding a Segway becomes second nature after a minute or two. During the 92 degree heat and humidity the movement of the Segway really took the edge of the heat. Highly recommended.

My first Segway tour!! Arrive early and you will not be so scared when the tour starts../ and after that: easy peasy!! These guys did a great job at explaining the Segway and watching out for the duckling-line as we segway-ed across town. Staring at 9:30 and ending at noon on the dot: Best fun. TIP: wear comfortable standing shoes cause that's what you do on the segway: stand! I have weak knees ans made it though, it was so much fun!!

This is my second time on a segway tour in Washington DC. It is an excellent way to explore the National Mall! The first time I did the segway tour was with another company, that was a few years back and that was more expensive. I like Capital Segway more, not only because it is more affordable but also it is conveniently located in a place where you can get food, do sightseeing, go to museums after the tour. Location wise it is super! Also, the shop is clean and restroom is clean (I think the one I went last time is more nasty), this is so important to me nowadays. We did the training inside the shop, not a problem for me because I had segway experience, I don't know if it is not as good for novice people though, but I didn't hear any complaint from our group. Moreover, last time we had more time for training outside in a parking lot, but I feel like we can use more time in the actual tour instead, so the amount of training at Capital Segway is just right for me as we have 2 hours outside. I have to shout out that we reserved the tour on a rainy day, and based on the forecast we have a concern whether the tour will continue so we called Capital Segway ahead of time, and they promised will let us know if it is going to cancel when the time gets closer. (in fact, we don't want to do it while it is raining) They are super friendly and flexible, the rain indeed came and we were able to reschedule it to the day after. Originally we are a group of 4 and we became a group of 3 because one of us cannot join the day after, we got 100% refund for the person who cannot join without any problem. In my opinion I think it is not as good to do the tour on a rainy day as you have less visibility and the road/street is not in a safe riding condition (may be slippery, people with umbrella people won't see you etc). Fantastic Segway Tour, convenient location, reasonable price, highly highly recommend! Please don't forget your tip!

What a great way to get an in-depth and entertaining guided tour to our Capitol, without ending up exhausted, and without contributing to traffic! The Segways were perfectly easy to learn to operate -- intuitive and with a careful and thorough orientation before we took to the streets. All safety equipment was included, as well as headsets so we could hear our guide and each other -- it made the trip much more interactive. Guides were friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and super aware of our needs for pacing; they also told us what to expect regarding navigation (no one was confused or left behind). They gave us each a small bottle of water, included with the tour; I'd recommend bringing another one, especially during the hot months. There is a break in the middle of the tour -- pack a quick lunch! The Segways have pouches to store things. (There are places to buy snacks and water at the break, as well.) I'll totally do this again.

My boyfriend and I decided to take a Segway tour our last night in DC. Our tour guides Jill and Ralphy were great! They made sure we were comfortable using the Segways before leaving, always assisted us when needed and took our photos whenever we asked. This was a great way to see all the historic sights. Keep in mind you are on a Segway meaning you cannot go into monuments because that is obviously rude and disrespectful. I would recommend to do what my boyfriend and I did which was walk to all of the monuments, take photos and take our time seeing everything the first couple of days you are in DC and then booking a tour like this one so you can hear more about the history of each monument.

My favorite part of being in DC! My boyfriend and I had so much fun. Evan and Nolan were great at teaching us how to ride the segways. This was our very first time and we loved it so much we wanna do it again! Also I'm super short and they were able to adjust it to my height. They made sure you are very comfortable before heading out. The tour was so much fun. It wasn't just them talking and boring you to death. They were very personable and funny. Most importantly, once outside they made sure you were safe as there are so many other cars and pedestrians. They also give your great recommendations to do around the city. If you're looking for something new and fun to do, stop looking. You've found it here!! Thank you guys for such a great time!!

    Excellent Capital tour!

Capital Segway is a great activity for out-of-towners, but I recently discovered how fun it could be for locals (like me) too. Have you truly seen a city until you've seen it while going in 360 degress on a segway? I've never ridden before, so the mini tutorial was much needed and appreciated. If you're a newbie like I was, let me tell you this: it does not work how you think it does! You don't move forward with the handles (you use your body and lean into it), you don't turn by turning your wrists (you motion like windshield wipers), and there is no on/off button (the segways will go without you, so make sure you park it against something). Once you get past the initial fear, it quickly becomes your favorite. thing. ever. Zooming 12 miles an hour on the street and grass feels more wildly adventurous than it reads. Plus, the tour guides are super funny and engaging. This experience is a must-try at least once.

You have to do this. It was amazing! I wanted to buy one of these segways. They were that cool and easy to ride. What makes this company so great are its people. These tour guides are so good. I can't get over how well run this tour is. The gentleman were patient and thorough making sure everyone felt secure on the segways and then put on a top notch tour. The wireless audio is amazing. I could not believe how much we saw and how great all this worked. Super worth the price. Things I would have liked to know going in for the first time: 1) The segway had a place up front to put a small cinch sac backpack that I was wearing around town. This was so great. I didn't have to worry about my gear. 2) It was hot and humid when I went - segways move so fast that it was actually cooler being on a segway and you can see so much more than walking 3) Capital Segway has two bathrooms to use before and after the tour 4) The segway has a place to put your phone and your water bottle while you are on the tour and there are times that the tour will stop to give you a chance to take pics with your cell phone. I almost wish I had my go-pro running. I have a handlebar mount that might have worked. Not sure. The tour was that cool though. 5) I was in DC for work and we were in two big groups on the segway tour. The wireless vox audio used on the tour makes it so nice and despite city noise you can hear everything the tour guide is saying. 6) The tour is long and your feet have to be kinda fixed to the pads. Stretch out your feet before you start. They will be sore after the tour for a bit but you will probably recover quickly. It's just because we normally don't fix your feet in one place for that long using very small muscle movements. It's really cool. Thanks so much to the tour guides. Can't wait to do it again. Every place I go if they offer a segway tour I'm going to try it. 7) I had a hat with me and I put it under my helmet. I did not feel unsafe but you will want to wear the helmet. I think it helped with the sun.

What an amazing experience! Justin was super friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us some cool info about each location we visited and made it less of a tour and more of a conversation which made it easy and gave it a flow that was fun and entertaining. I really enjoyed my time with and I will definitely recommend it. Whenever I get more family to come visit DC I know how to show them the city!

Having been on Segway tours before in different cities, I knew that it was a great way to quickly see a lot of a city with minimal effort and the added fun of riding a Segway. Capital Segway didn't disappoint and offered a great, fun service that I would heartily recommend. These tours are a great thing to do when you first arrive in DC as they really quickly familiarise you with the layout of the National Mall and show you all the major things while giving you a nice historical understanding of the place. The $65 tour (weekend price, $60 on weekdays) was around 2 hours long and there was no speed cap on the Segways, allowing you to zoom around to your heart's content. Tour guides offered complete training and were always vigilant of safety throughout the tour. The tour guides were informative and fun and were open to questions. About halfway through the tour we stopped and had around 15 mind to walk around the Lincoln Memorial. The tour group was about 10 people, and everyone was provided with a safety helmet and a headset so you could always hear the tour guide. My tip: if you're a student you can email them to get a 10% discount code off the online booking of your tour!

How else can you see the tourist sights in Washington DC in couple of hours other than Segway tour? We're glad that we chose this tour operator over many competitors. We came here on Saturday morning and we were greeted by the manager on duty at that time. He was very informative and very helpful. We were informed that the tour would run for a couple of hours and that we must come back 30 minutes earlier to our chosen scheduled trip in order for us to practice with Segway and not to consume our allocated tour time. To me, that was really cool. We came back 30 minutes before our tour to practice how to run and control the Segway inside the office. They were all comfortable. They let us go out to the street and to the park to practice. We started the tour at the White House. Then we proceeded to the WWII memorial, the Abraham Lincoln memorial, the Mall, the reflecting pool, the George Washington memorial and some museums along Pennsylvania Avenue. It took us a couple of hours to see all those great things. It would have taken us a whole day by foot. The tour in my opinion is not slow and not fast either. The pace is just perfect for you to enjoy the lovely weather, historical sights, memorials and riding your new toy--the Segway.

While he was nice, he didn't have a lot to add off the track I pretty sure he had memorized. Here is what I learned, you still walk a fair amount into these monuments from where they drop you in the golf cart vs. the people who are on the bikes and scooters. If you're really looking for the least amount of walking and able to operate those that would save you time and money.
