Cozy set up

Great place! Exploring the area and I needed somewhere quiet to focus - this cafe was up the street so I decided to pop in. It's a clean and quiet space in a busy neighborhood with plenty of street parking available. It's very modern with conference rooms and plenty of outlets for convenience (and with a separate nook for card holders). As soon as I walked in Joni gave me a very thorough rundown as well as a latte on the house for it being my first time! I thought that was a great gesture. It was fairly empty for late afternoon (2/3p) so I hung out for a few hours and then another ambassador named Mike was gracious enough to bless me with another latte on the house. Everyone was so welcoming and went above and beyond imo when it came to checking on customers. Now the lattes - the first was the iced Honey Lavender Latte. Perfect! I'm not a coffee drinker at all so I ordered this based off of my love of chai lattes. It was a little strong, but not overpowering with some sweetness to it. I got a hot Chai latte later on since the a/c was on full blast - the chai was also a little overpowering - almost too spicy tasting. If they even this out with the milk it'd be perfect. After 2 unexpected comp'd drinks and an inviting atmosphere, I can say this is a great place to hang out and get some work done. I'll return for one of their events and see if the vibe is different but for now, it's added to the list!

Absolutely love this place. As a Capital One cardholder they ALWAYS have some type of discount on their drinks. I've really been taking advantage of their collaboration with MLB and grabbing my FREE drink each Monday, sad that it'll be coming to an end but I will continue to utilize their other discounts on drinks. The staff is also really nice and they can help you with financial services from Capital One as well. Also, they have meeting spaces that you can utilize which I think is great.

Friendly staff, when you walk in is it very welcoming. The ambiance of the cafe feel very relaxing, if you need a place to study or meet a small group? This would be the perfect place. It's only street parking but, the cafe is on the corner and not hard to miss.

Very friendly and attentive staff, very spacious, and cool options to rent out rooms! This was my first time in the cafe and it was enjoyable. Although the seasonal drink wasn't my favorite, I look forward to trying some other things on the menu. As a capital one cardholder, this is a great benefit.

I work right down the street from this location, and absolutely love it. It's super cute, clean, and the drinks are delicious. I am starting to make an iced honey lavender latte my regular drink. The staff is super friendly and kind, and they really make it feel like a community there. There are also free events almost weekly, like coffee samplings, and yoga! My one point of feedback would be for an addition of gluten free foods - however, this is very rare in coffee shops so not necessarily an expectation. But would be nice! :D

I walked past this place looking for a cafe. All I saw was capital one. Asked someone and they sent me here. I walked in and was like WOW..... the place is modern and trendy. Now let's talk about the function. One great coffee, two a meeting room. Yes, a meeting room. You can come drink coffee and have meetings. They also have a small room for a two or 3 person meeting. Then lots of tables . A special shout of to the staff that was working that day. They all explained everything to me on the functions and I explained I was from out of town and they helped looked up ones in the Los Angeles area . Top notch staff.

I'm on a hunt to find the best coffee/bakeries in the DMV area. I've always wanted to stop in the Capital One Cafe but I really thought that the lattes would be bland and wouldn't have any syrups. I ordered a vanilla iced latte with an almond croissant and both were delicious. I added almond milk and some lavender syrup but I won't do that again because it was toooo overpowering for that but still amazing. The almond croissant was great it was my second time having one. The service was spectacular. I made a mistake and forgot to add the almond milk and the young lady remade it without a problem. I was happy because I don't like for the drinks to have to go to waste when it's my fault. The inside is very big and you can work from here while having either breakfast or lunch. This location is located in SE on Good Hope Road. I can't wait to go back

Stopped by after a friend had sent me a link to their summer solstice deal. The staff was extremely nice. I tried the citrus inspired latte. It was very good. I also had the breakfast sandwich, which was great. The space was clean, inviting and open. They also had a table of giveaways to celebrate the start of summer. It was overall just good vibes. Will definitely be returning.

First time here and they gave me a coffee on the house. They gifted my 2 year old daughter sunglasses and a key chain. They were fast, friendly, and informative to tell me the perks that capital one members have when choosing to get coffee/ pastries from here. The ambiance is quiet and very work friendly, great place to do work but welcoming to everyone even moms with kids like me.

With more than 50 cafes across the United States, the Anacostia cafe is the first one in a low to moderate income neighborhood (explained to me by a staff member as I walked into this location). Located in the heart of historic Anacostia at the corner of Good Hope and MLK Ave SE, here's my experience: 1) Space: Located on the first level of new development, the space is new. When you walk in, you pass two Capital One ATMs. Open two more glass doors to enter the cafe. It's set up like a Peet's coffee shop with a large open industrial room with plenty of tables, each with outlets. It's well-kept and inviting. 2) Menu: The cafe functions like a Peet's coffee shop with a full coffee menu from drip coffee to vanilla lattes. They have pastries and other food items for sale and an area with packaged snacks (some are locally made). If you're Capital One card holder, you get 50% off on drinks making this the best coffee deal in the area. Coffee drinks comes in medium and large sizes. 3) Service: The staff are friendly, energetic and passionate. The moment I walked in, a staff member named Jordan walked me through the set up and mission. She was so helpful as were every staff I interacted with. It seems like a great team! 4) Amenities: They have strong, free wifi, outlets everywhere and two rooms that will open in the new year (pending the new strand of covid). One room is first-come first-served for quiet work space. The other is a meeting room that is set up for eight people for free use by students and non-profits. Restrooms are in the back and kept clean. 5) Community: According to the staff, they are invested in the community. In addition to a free meeting room for local students and non-profits, they offer financial literacy classes for neighbors.

I recently encountered significant challenges at a Bank of America branch while attempting to cash…read morean endorsed check drawn under Bank of America for under $400. This review aims to elucidate the inconsistencies and miscommunications experienced, emphasizing the need for a standardized application of bank policies. *First let me say I agree with all the other reviews; this place moves like molasses and for no reason *. I came into the branch to cash a small check that had been endorsed to me by my fiancée. Neither of us has an account with Bank of America however it was rush hour traffic and I tried to avoid going over the bridge just to cash it After being denied by the teller, Aliyyah Abdussamadi, and subsequently by the branch manager, Cynthia Marshal, I sought clarification from Bank of America's customer service. I asked Ms Marshal when did this policy change as I had just cashed a check endorsed to me by my son 2 months ago that was drawn under Bank of America. She explained she had been working in banking for over 16 years and to HER knowledge, an endorsed check can only be deposited or cashed if the person who the check's name is in has an account or with the endorsed person. Cara (customer solution BOA) in Dallas informed me that the bank does indeed cash endorsed checks for non-account holders, contingent upon the branch manager's discretion. This was a reasonable policy, but my experience at the branch deviated significantly. Ms. Marshal attempted to explain that my previous success in cashing an endorsed check at another branch was an exception rather than the rule, suggesting that the presence of my son--despite his lack of ID--was a decisive factor. This explanation was both illogical and concerning, as it implied an arbitrary application of policy that undermines procedural integrity. When I asked if it was ethical to cash a check based solely on my son's presence (WITHOUT an ID) Ms. Marshal's reasoning fell short of addressing the fundamental inconsistency. Today, with my fiancé's check, the situation deteriorated further. Despite presenting multiple forms of ID--including my personal bank card, state ID, military ID, three credit cards, and my fiancé's bank card--Ms. Marshal maintained that the check could not be cashed unless my fiancé was physically present, thereby negating the purpose of endorsement. Her suggestion that my fiancé should come to the branch was impractical and contradictory to the very essence of an endorsed check. Subsequently, I spoke with Mr. Murphy Aghedo, who acknowledged that he would have cashed the check if he were in charge, but deferred to the manager's decision. (Let the record show that I still had the customer solution rep on the phone the entire time and she too was able to speak to Mr Aghedo and explained to him the policy). This indicated a lack of clear, consistent policy enforcement within the branch. In total, I spent over an hour trying to resolve an issue that should have been straightforward, only to be met with a lack of accountability and coherence from the branch staff. This experience underscores a critical disconnect between Bank of America's stated policies and their execution at the branch level. For a bank that prides itself on customer service and procedural integrity, these inconsistencies are unacceptable. Clear, consistent, and ethical application of policies is paramount to maintaining customer trust and operational efficiency. I hope Bank of America will address these discrepancies to ensure a more reliable and transparent customer experience in the future. * TO BE CLEAR* I did not present all forms of ID to Ms Marshal; I just told her I had them but she denied cashing the check anyway stating my fiancée needed to be there. ***** I DID however produce them to Aghedo".

Particularly their online customer service "manager" Sonja. Capitol One has a history of sending people "Oops there is an error message", dating back to 2020 from my research. It still hasn't been fixed till this day. See Reddit thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/comments/i9e9wu/capital_one_hit_a_snag_error_message_and_other/ Last post was made 1 month ago, and it happened today. It is very apparent they have an incompetent tech team, who still has yet to fix this issues 3 years later. I've logged on last night with no problems, until I started to get the error message. It took me 3 phone calls, 4 transfers, 5 holds, and 48 mins trouble shooting, and speaking to Sonja to tell me: "You're locked out. Because it's a algorithm thing with banks." Me: "I've had Citibank for the last 10 years (still do), Chase, Wells Fargo, WaMu, BoA, and this is the first time that I've encountered a banking institution telling me I'm locked out due to an 'algorithm'." Sonja: Uhhh... I don't know what to tell you. I can send you a letter. A letter wasn't going to do anything. People on the Reddit thread has said that this letter does nothing to help solve their issues. I asked to be transferred to their Tech Department, which by the way, get this... "Refused to talk to me (the client), because I haven't been locked out for 24 hours yet." No, I didn't get the wrong password. I simply logged on too many times, according to Sonja. That's the BIGGEST nonsense I've heard in my life. Even then, that sounds like a THEM problem. If I was truly locked out, wouldn't there be a you're locked out of your account message? Sonja kept repeating how much was in my checking account. However, that's not what I asked her. I asked her to transfer me to either her supervisor, or these tech people who flat out refuse to take peoples calls before the 24 hours is up. Sonja claimed there was no one there, so she just literally threw her Direct Report under the bus. I can smell BS from 2,000 miles away. Either get it together or get your story straight.
