The photos of the space are rather misleading. It's not a large lounge with all the furniture shown in the images. There's no couches or any sort of comfier furniture, mostly wood chairs and tables. There's a separate private space to work in with others but you need to book the room in advance. If you are a Capital One member, you get drinks for free, so that's wonderful. Overall, it's a calm atmosphere to work in, but has misleading photos of the lounge. read more

This was such a delightful find. I stumbled upon this place whilst Googling "coffee" when I was in the neighborhood. Capital One came up! Like huh? Never knew they had this type of place. It's cute and quaint. The customer service is friendly, engaging, and welcoming. They've created a phenomenal co-working space with private rooms to take meetings for members. Great place! Exploring the area and I needed somewhere quiet to focus - this cafe was up the street so I decided to pop in. It's a clean and quiet space in a busy neighborhood with plenty of street parking available. It's very modern with conference rooms and plenty of outlets for convenience (and with a separate nook for card holders). As soon as I walked in Joni gave me a very thorough rundown as well as a latte on the house for it being my first time! I thought that was a great gesture. It was fairly empty for late afternoon (2/3p) so I hung out for a few hours and then another ambassador named Mike was gracious enough to bless me with another latte on the house. Everyone was so welcoming and went above and beyond imo when it came to checking on customers. Now the lattes - the first was the iced Honey Lavender Latte. Perfect! I'm not a coffee drinker at all so I ordered this based off of my love of chai lattes. It was a little strong, but not overpowering with some sweetness to it. I got a hot Chai latte later on since the a/c was on full blast - the chai was also a little overpowering - almost too spicy tasting. If they even this out with the milk it'd be perfect. After 2 unexpected comp'd drinks and an inviting atmosphere, I can say this is a great place to hang out and get some work done. I'll return for one of their events and see if the vibe is different but for now, it's added to the list! read more

Absolutely love this place. As a Capital One cardholder they ALWAYS have some type of discount on their drinks. I've really been taking advantage of their collaboration with MLB and grabbing my FREE drink each Monday, sad that it'll be coming to an end but I will continue to utilize their other discounts on drinks. The staff is also really nice and they can help you with financial services from Capital One as well. Also, they have meeting spaces that you can utilize which I think is great. read more

I work right down the street from this location, and absolutely love it. It's super cute, clean, and the drinks are delicious. I am starting to make an iced honey lavender latte my regular drink. The staff is super friendly and kind, and they really make it feel like a community there. There are also free events almost weekly, like coffee samplings, and yoga! My one point of feedback would be for an addition of gluten free foods - however, this is very rare in coffee shops so not necessarily an expectation. But would be nice! :D read more

I walked past this place looking for a cafe. All I saw was capital one. Asked someone and they sent me here. I walked in and was like WOW..... the place is modern and trendy. Now let's talk about the function. One great coffee, two a meeting room. Yes, a meeting room. You can come drink coffee and have meetings. They also have a small room for a two or 3 person meeting. Then lots of tables . A special shout of to the staff that was working that day. They all explained everything to me on the functions and I explained I was from out of town and they helped looked up ones in the Los Angeles area . Top notch staff. read more

I'm on a hunt to find the best coffee/bakeries in the DMV area. I've always wanted to stop in the Capital One Cafe but I really thought that the lattes would be bland and wouldn't have any syrups. I ordered a vanilla iced latte with an almond croissant and both were delicious. I added almond milk and some lavender syrup but I won't do that again because it was toooo overpowering for that but still amazing. The almond croissant was great it was my second time having one. The service was spectacular. I made a mistake and forgot to add the almond milk and the young lady remade it without a problem. I was happy because I don't like for the drinks to have to go to waste when it's my fault. The inside is very big and you can work from here while having either breakfast or lunch. Sometimes the best experiences are the ones aren't planned. We are on a road trip with a baby. I mapped out every stop every 2 hours to take the baby out of the car and their seat frequently to take a break, feed and change diapers. The park I had mapped out near Capital One Cafe wasn't a good fit so I found this path along the river instead. We were cold and wanted coffee as well as a bathroom so I looked up places close by and stumbled upon Capital One Cafe and it was one of the highlights of the trip so far. The drinks we got were good but what made the experience was the staff. A lady working there (I feel horrible I forgot her name because she was great) was amazing. She gave us info on the cafe, trying to build a community and welcoming feeling (which we felt). They gave us a Jeremy Brandt Elf on the Shelf doll for our son, swag bags, and the Little Daymond Learns to Earn by Daymond Johnson. So generous. Such an awesome experience! read more

With more than 50 cafes across the United States, the Anacostia cafe is the first one in a low to moderate income neighborhood (explained to me by a staff member as I walked into this location). Located in the heart of historic Anacostia at the corner of Good Hope and MLK Ave SE, here's my experience: 1) Space: Located on the first level of new development, the space is new. When you walk in, you pass two Capital One ATMs. Open two more glass doors to enter the cafe. It's set up like a Peet's coffee shop with a large open industrial room with plenty of tables, each with outlets. It's well-kept and inviting. 2) Menu: The cafe functions like a Peet's coffee shop with a full coffee menu from drip coffee to vanilla lattes. They have pastries and other food items for sale and an area with packaged snacks (some are locally made). If you're Capital One card holder, you get 50% off on drinks making this the best coffee deal in the area. Coffee drinks comes in medium and large sizes. 3) Service: The staff are friendly, energetic and passionate. The moment I walked in, a staff member named Jordan walked me through the set up and mission. She was so helpful as were every staff I interacted with. It seems like a great team! 4) Amenities: They have strong, free wifi, outlets everywhere and two rooms that will open in the new year (pending the new strand of covid). One room is first-come first-served for quiet work space. The other is a meeting room that is set up for eight people for free use by students and non-profits. Restrooms are in the back and kept clean. 5) Community: According to the staff, they are invested in the community. In addition to a free meeting room for local students and non-profits, they offer financial literacy classes for neighbors. read more

I walked in to the bank on Washington Street in Alexandria Virginia one morning right after the bank opened. I was second in line. I waited in line for 20 minutes before I left. There was in front of 4 people by then. When the doors open the business should be ready for the customer. I've had had difficulty with the branch before. I have a couple of credit cards with the bank and I will always be doing business with them online only. I had immediately after this paid off the cards. I am very displeased with the level of service I received today at my local Capital One Cafe located at 1203 Marion Barry Ave SE. I am a small business owner shopping around for a small business loan to scale my small business. Conducted some research, reviewed online FAQ and scheduled a date to go to a number of branches to discuss business plan and loan options. Competitive shopping. Upon entering we were met by Jon, leaning on a sign and sipping his drink. We informed him we were there to discuss a small business loan. Jon's first response was No, you can't do that here, you must go online. When we stated we had gone online as well as spoke with someone who all suggested we go in branch to have our questions answered. It seems that they are taking Cafe to a new level of lounging. Jon's lack luster was disappointing. Jon's lack of interest spoke volumes. No welcoming smiles, no questions about my business or anything constructive. Just a bunch of " No we don't do that here. Capital One Cafe located in Ward 8 of Washington, DC doesn't seem interested in being a quality Financial Institution in my neighbor or building business relationships with locals. Front line representative was dry and uninterested in providing quality service and useful information. This is not the bank for me. Cold and disconnected. No Thanks! The second of the three DC bank-turned-café branches of Capital One. Clearly, a sign of "arrivée" that Capital One set up shop here in Anacostia...but only just about: right after the bridge from Navy Yard. Flash News: the hot chocolate is--by DC and American standards--surprisingly delicious! I have made very good note of this, for repeats in the future. The staff are trained to be remarkably friendly. I've visited here twice. The first time was just to participate in my virtual work meeting. The second time, I picked up a hibiscus tea here from the cafe on a hot day. Sandra and Simba both greeted me warmly. I was also given some free merchandise. It was a very clean, cool, and quiet space to be in. Two stars for convenience. But consistently gone in to see one person working behind the counter and several reps trying to chat you up and get you to open an account while you wait. That's annoying. I just want to walk down the street and grab a cup of coffee and not have to hope there isn't a line or they get the order correct or come up with a million reasons why I don't need an account. The first time we ordered we got a large instead of a medium and we were charged for it. The second time we ordered a black coffee and they gave us a coffee with half and half. They're clearly overwhelmed, at least hire some additional staff behind the counter. We want you to stick around, so nice to have a cafe within walking distance! read more
