This is not to question the doctor's actual ability in his chosen trade, just the decisions and behavior of him and his staff. Bottom line, the doctor actually told me it would be fine to keep an appointment for a root canal after I complained of coughing fits. Later I was heavily billed for repeat cancellation because I couldn't get the coughing to stop, but I didn't want to give up on my tooth which he told me was in imminent danger. (Strangely, he was confused enough to believe that my 5-minute suppression of said coughing meant that it didn't exist at all) I will simply make an effort to pay the bill, because I probably signed something saying that I understood their policy, and I already know that the counter-argument would be that "I shouldn't have made the appointments". I understand that.
What I do not find understandable is the attitude of the office staff member when I voiced my concerns over the billing, one of which being the fact that I am nearly broke and disabled so it is difficult for me to find work. She was absolutely devoid of sympathy or understanding, an indicator that she held no regard for me as a customer or a human being. While I cannot currently afford the fee they are charging me, I don't need to be spoken to in such a manner. Potentially, this establishment could have made a considerable amount of money off of me later (yes, I will have income in the future) by cutting me some slack now, but that ship has sailed.
My main sticking point is that a qualified, seemingly intelligent dental professional (sorry, ENDODONTIST) told me it was ok to come in for a root canal procedure when I stated that I was having coughing fits. Given the absurdity of such a suggestion by a so-called professional, one might consider their choices carefully before making an appointment at Capital Endodontics. read more
