Since moving to Riverside and being forced onto your service, your drivers and inspectors have operated like ticket-hungry meter maids, looking for any trivial, fabricated excuse to slap a violation on my account every single week. To prove how baseless these citations are, I have intentionally kept my bins barely half-full, yet your employees still manufacture ridiculous infractions. You hold residents liable for bins staged at the curb while completely ignoring reality. Given your early 5:30 to 6:00 AM pickup windows, staging bins out the night before is necessary. Yet you completely dismiss the fact that third-party scavengers, illegal dumpers, and pass-through foot traffic dig through bins and toss unauthorized items into them overnight. If your company refuses to provide lockable carts or yard-retrieval service, you have zero business penalizing account holders for contamination or tampering caused by outside individuals after carts are placed curbside. I dealt with EDCO for years and never experienced this level of micromanagement and customer hostility. It is blatantly obvious that Athens exploits its municipal monopoly to generate ancillary revenue through garbage citations simply because residents don't have a choice in hauler. Every neighbor I speak with agrees that the previous provider ran circles around your outfit. On top of the constant citations, your notification process is fundamentally broken and unprofessional. Blasting automated robocalls stating there is a violation without providing any accompanying photographic evidence is unacceptable. It should not be the customer's burden to waste time calling your office every single week just to pry loose a photo of an alleged infraction. Operate like a professional organization: before any charge or citation is assessed, send the complete documentation--including timestamped photographic proof of the alleged violation--directly via email.
