We are delighted with the awning we just bought from Capital City Awning. The mechanicals and fabric appear to be of high quality. The new awning makes our back porch much more inviting and shields us from the late afternoon sun without blocking our view of the back yard. Salesman Brian Graham did a nice job outlining our options, sitting patiently while we chose a fabric. He also showed up the morning of installation. I am vertically challenged, and the manual crank didn't work for me. He returned a few hours later with a longer one (no extra charge). Don't waste your time and find somewhere that cares about customer service. They advertise winter storage and charge over $300 for it, then will only install the awning on their schedule, not yours. When you call to try to get it installed in spring, they are all smart asses and say summer doesn't start to June so you will be good. Not a company I will do business with again. read more

Original purchase and install was good 3 years ago. We recently replaced our roof and needed the to reinstall awning after roof. Price was too high over $700 bucks for about 30 minutes of work. Then invoice process was very poor. I paid half when I scheduled. The installers then showed up un announced, unscheduled and were not prepared with a final bill. I lost track until nasty email with first invoice 3 months later. Great product, poor execution. read more

My husband scheduled an appointment for an estimate. He spent ten minutes on the phone with the customer service rep giving her specific directions to our house, asking questions, etc. The appointment time came and went and no one showed up or called. My husband called the next morning to find out why and was told that we weren't even in their system! The woman asked him who he spoke with when he called and he replied "I spoke with you. I wrote your name down and spent ten minutes explaining how to get to our house." Dead silence. We have decided to look elsewhere for our awning needs. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Capital City Awning. We decided to have multiple awnings along the back of our house recovered as part of an outdoor renovation project. The original timeframe estimation of the project was 6 weeks, it took over 20 weeks for the project to be completed. Now while I understand unanticipated delays, especially in the midst of a pandemic, their communication regarding these delays was terrible. I had to contact them multiple times, after weeks of radio silence, to see when they were coming to do the work. They also contacted me regarding the outstanding balance before the job was completed. I was understandably hesitant to pay them before the project was completed for fear that they wouldn't actually finish the job. The other very disappointing piece of this encounter was that in the process of removing the old frames, recovering them and reinstalling them, they managed to damage the frames significantly in innumerable places. I am frustrated that they would reinstall the frames without correcting their damage. When I inquired if they would be coming back to correct the damage they caused, I was told that was not part of the original estimate. I would not have thought to ask for them to repaint the frames as part of the original estimate because I did not expect them to return the frames in any less condition than they were removed. Eventually they did agree to come out and touch up the paint in the spots that were damaged and unfortunately they did a very poor job. I am very disappointed that they would look at the finished product and deem that acceptable. The installer even commented that they should not have been installed that way and that the touchup paint job was bad. I have given up trying to get them to make it right and unfortunately I am left to repair their damage myself. I expected more pride in their finished product and much better customer service but unfortunately I was sorely disappointed. read more

These guys are great. I have them put up and take down my awning every year. They are efficient and do a great job. It is a big awning over my deck and it withstands some very high winds at times with no problems. read more
