We wound up getting a combo that came with two large three topping pizzas and an order of Garlic Knots. The food arrived relatively quickly and was still hot! I was impressed by that feat alone, as we've ordered pizza from much closer places and received lukewarm 'za. The Garlic Knots were fine but the pizzas were the star for me. The toppings we chose (onions, pineapple, and bacon on one, and pepperoni, mushrooms, and green peppers on the other) were placed with care and were all very tasty. The plentiful cheese and tomato sauce only enhanced the pizza's addictive quality. And of course, it wouldn't be Papa Johns without that delicious garlic sauce. That stuff is crazy good. I think Papa Johns might just be my new go-to for delivery pizza. I'm very impressed.

I'm torn on Pizzaiolo (or, more particular, this Pizzaiolo)…read more It's good pizza. The crust is very good, bordering on greatness. The pie itself is well put together with plenty of toppings scattered with skill and attention to the "perfect bite", if you know what I mean. They market it as gourmet. Is it? No. It's better than most corner pizzerias., but it's far from gourmet. The sauce is mediocre and sparse (I didn't taste it at all, honestly). The cheese isn't a drawback per se, stringy and gooey, sure, but it lacks any real character beyond "huh, well, that's cheese... I guess". I admit that I did genuinely enjoy my slices. Probably 3.5 star considering the generally poor quality of pizza in TO. So what's the problem? Price. The 'za isn't noticeably better than, say, Pizza Pizza (considerably better crust, inferior cheese and sauce). I can't say the toppings are superior -- in fact, the broccoli tasted distinctly like frozen florets, though I'm probably wrong on that count. There are fewer topping choices. So that brings us back to the price, which is significantly more, and that's a deal breaker. Would I order from them again? Hm. Maybe. Not likely, however, given the other options available. Which is a pity, 'cuz that crust is pretty excellent! Hours of Operation: Monday to Thursday, 10am - 10pm Friday to Sunday, 10am - 11pm

The anchovies, garlic and onion masked the lack of sauce on one pizza but it was very noticeable on our cheese pizza. Lifted the cheese and there was only the slightest red tinge. The second time we ordered for pick up, we remembered the last experience and paid extra for extra sauce on our pizzas (2.39 each!). I think you can guess what's next - lifted the cheese and there was only a hint of sauce while there was some towards the crust. The Hawaiian was ok because the toppings added a bit of flavour. The cheese pizza was tasteless - like toasted cheese covered cardboard. You can tell how good a pizza place is by how they do on their cheese pizza. This franchise is a hard pass. These people don't look like they know what a pizza is supposed to taste like. Really, go to Napolitan Pizza south on Islington, go to Romi's a bit east on Bloor, go to Dino's on Queensway. You get what you pay for (except here).

Crust was soft but less chewy than typical ones. Neapolitan style where they put a lot of sauce on so u have to eat with fork knife. I prefer a more firm NY style vs a soggier type. Service (4.5/5) - it wasn't busy and I got pretty quick service overall. Pizza was on my table in less than 10 minutes from order as the guy started making it in front immediately after ordering. Atmosphere (4/5) - some tables in front and more in back for larger groups. Seemed clean and in good shape. Overall (3.75/5) - service was fast and friendly. Just wished the pizza was bit better and more traditional margherita style. Similar level to Dino's wood burning but below ones like Super, North of Brooklyn, etc.

We showed up around noon on a recent Saturday and the joint was empty, so we snagged a sweet table right by the front. A bunch of the appetizers sounded really appealing, but we decided to try the Polpette di Melanzane ("Eggplant balls, red pepper and tomato sauce, whipped ricotta"). The dish arrived shortly after and was absolutely delicious. The eggplant balls were cooked perfectly (I was worried they might be a little mushy), while the accompanying sauce and ricotta only enhanced the experience. This was certainly a stellar way to kick off the meal. The main attraction was the pizza, obviously, and I decided to try the Pizza Oro ("Crushed San Marzano tomatoes, house-made sausage, pepperoni, `nduja sausage, garlic, basil, oregano, fior di latte, coriander vinaigrette"). It's an extensive list of toppings and I was curious to see if they worked well together or if it would be a cacophony of flavors. I needn't have worried, because this is one outstanding 'za. Everything works so well together, and the various components complement each other beautifully. The whole thing's held together by a perfectly-cooked crust, too. I could eat this pizza every day for the rest of my life and be quite happy. I hope that more people discover Pizzeria Via Napoli, because I'd rank them near the top of any list of Toronto's best Neapolitan-style pizza.

We tried the chicken grilled burger the first time along with a margherita pizza. The food was fresh and flavourful. The pizza crust equal parts crusty, with the right amount of sauce and cheese. A quick perusal of their menu led me directly to the Soujuk and Avocado Burger ("5 oz beef patty, 4 oz fermented beef Turkish sausage, beef bacon, cheddar cheese, homemade avocado mayo, sliced tomato, baby arugula"), because I grew up eating soujuk and I was intrigued as to how it would work on a hamburger. It was ready in about 15 minutes and it sure looked impressive (and intimidating). This is one tasty burger. It's exactly the sort of decadent, larger-than-life treat promised by the description, as it's been overloaded with cheese and meat. The aforementioned soujuk gives the whole thing a good amount of spice, too. I will say, however, that the burger eats very, very heavy, which isn't surprising given that it's just fat on fat on fat. The arugula and tomato isn't quite enough to cut through all that richness, and I was definitely looking for some relief from all that richness. Still, as a once-in-a-while thing, I definitely would recommend this concoction. Service was friendly, too.
