So when a friend asked me to drop her car off at Bruce's a few years ago my immediate thought was - i wonder how they're gonna screw her over. The next day I dropped off the car - I was greeted just inside the door by a gentleman and was thrown off by his polite demeanor. Again, I was thinking, nice front man. When I went back to pick up the car, same guy, just as polite - and the bill ..... totally reasonable ! So since then I've been using Bruce's for all of my auto repairs - every single time I've gone in - no matter who's at the desk - they're always polite and I have always felt as if they bill very conservatively. Bottom line - if you're not using Bruce's, you're missing out. I wrote this because sometimes a simple thanks isn't enough - I believe in telling everyone about great service, Bruce has clearly set a high standard for his business, his employees, and his reputation. I informed the person who answered that the car was dead and it was frigidly cold. The person with Andrade Towing was rude, dismissive, said he was cold, (which made no sense given that I was stranded and waiting), and then hung up on me instead of providing an update. At that point, I contacted my insurance co to report the interaction and requested the tow be canceled (now going on nearly 2 hours of waiting) and reassigned to a more deserving company. Being stranded in the cold and treated disrespectfully when asking for basic information is not okay. I would not recommend this company. My daughter and son-in law had enjoyed a show , overindulged and were responsible enough to take an Uber home. They returned to the venue to collect their car at 8:30 on Sunday morning only to find that their car had been towed. They called "Felipe" and were informed that the company was closed until Monday. When they went to Pembroke to pick up the car but were unable to find it, they again called Felipe and were informed that the car was in Halifax. When they arrived in Halifax, Felipe had the car on his flatbed truck demanding $300 CASH ONLY for its return. No idea why it was moved from Pembroke except to increase the distance it was towed to justify the exorbitant charge. The flatbed truck had no license plates on it at all. Shady business. Be warned
