If you want your ego stroked, this is the place to go. Owner says he's got the best tech's in the south shore, whoa, unbelievable!! They must be good.
Reluctantly went to these guys as I was having a lift put in my Jeep. Simple instructions...please remove leveling kit, install lift, steel braided brake lines, mount new tires, and swap rear sway bar links. Instructions say install time is between 7-9 hours so why they needed it for two whole days ( they estimate install won't take more than 14 hrs and anytime spent installing over that is on them. Coincidentally, total install time was 14 hours!) is beyond me. I do understand bleeding the brake lines takes a little time but in no way does it account for the additional 5 hrs of labor.
Anyway, after getting it back and driving for a bit, my jeep felt really high. I thought to myself, man, I only installed a 2.5" kit and this thing is up there. After close inspection, it was plain to see that they left the leveling kit in so my jeep was 4.5" in the front and 3.5" in the rear!! Really Mike?? Best techs huh...try again. Oh yea, and the rear sway bar links were installed in the front and fronts were moved to rear. Why the tech thought this was a good idea again, is beyond me. So I called and vented, Mike was willing to fix the problems but would need my rig for another day, plus it would need to be realigned since the height difference, super.
I waited a week since my days off rotate, dropped the jeep off (split my jeans getting out) made sure the "tech" knew what was to be corrected and was subsequently picked up by my girlfriend.
End of business day I stop by to take it home and they were just finishing up. Told me my stock suspension was packed away in my jeep and several runs would need to be made for the tires. Sure, that's understandable. Rear of jeep is loaded up, drive home, remove stock tires and noticed the takeoff shocks were black. I have a Rubicon and stock shocks are red. In an intense frustration with this shop I drove back and asked to speak to Mike that his "tech" was trying to swipe my Rubicon shocks and replace them with a set off god knows what. He assured me that it was a simple mistake as there must have been another jeep getting work done and the piles were mixed up. Really Mike? Really? Grr.
So after that, I was done. Forget this place. They pad their install times, overcharge on parts, and claim to have the best mechanics around. To this day, my jeep makes a few noises that could be the result of a poor install but I dare not go back to this place. I'd rather have the dealership look at my vehicle than bring it back.
But man oh man, my ego was stroked every chance they had, " hey man, sick jeep. It's gonna look badass when we're done with it. Blah blah blah..." Hey, here's something new, focus on the install with accurate times and I'll praise you for not wasting my time and getting the job done right. read more
