I came in with a problem that if I went anywhere else would probably cost me over $1000 to fix, but he told me that I didn't need all this new stuff that he could just simply weld it and take care of my car for a lot cheaper It ended up saving me over $800! Nick's has the one thing that I value most in a mechanic. I TRUST HIM. From my conversations with Nick's he is always very upfront and forthcoming. He understands how car repair impacts people. Unlike dealerships, and big chain stores that try to find any little thing that needs to be "fixed", Nick doesn't try to add on what isn't needed. He tries to help you make the best decision for your car. Example: I had to take my car to the dealership for some software update ( only the dealer could do this ). The dealership suggested that I replace my wiperblades, and replace my front headlight because of moisture to pass inspection. The bill would have been over $1000. Nick's, sticks to what you need. He would never a) suggest replacing brand new wiper blades (I replaced my windshield wipers last month. ) , and b) suggest some bogus repair just to drum up business. It is pretty easy to get the moisture out of a headlight assembly without having to replace it. Nick's is the best. Don't get ripped off by dealers and chain stores. read more

Was here this week to get new tires, get them mounted, balanced and aligned. They were GREAT and FAST! Prices are just right, specially since when you buy a tire it also includes the mounting and balancing in the price. I bought 2 Continental True Contact tires ($92.54 ea.). Anywhere else that's a separate charge. The alignment was $69.99, cheaper than their advertised price because I have a small Honda. The lady who took my keys and charged me was SUPER nice! They have a great thing going here. Will definitely be back to get a new set of tires again. I strongly recommend! read more

My sons car broke down and I had it towed to Nicks. When I called him, he said no problem he will take a look at it. It was after 2pm on a Saturday. I discovered this shop accidentally when I got rejected at other places for a headlight bulb replacement. Nicks took me in and helped me right away and they became my number one repair shop. I thought it was pretty cool that they build cars and participate in races. It shows that it isn't just a job for them! These guys live and breathe cars! Then I had to move to Lowell and I thought it would be a good idea to find a new shop near me so it's convenient. But after a few places tried to take advantage of me, sell me stuff I didn't need and charge cosmic prices for the service, I lost hope to find honest car mechanics. Now I don't even consider any other shop to work on my car! I keep coming back to Nicks even for the fluid change. They will take time to explain what is wrong, tell you about the causes and consequences of the problem and offer repairing options. Totally worth an hour of driving! My car is old and has lots of thousands of miles on her, but with the help of Nicks staff I hope to be able to drive her for several more years! My 2004 Tahoe had the check engine light on so I couldn't get an inspection sticker.They diagnosed it and found the problem to be charcoal canister and solenoid. Done that day! Went back a few days later to have new instrument cluster put in, tires swapped and alignment-done the same day! Took my Rav 4 to have front brakes checked. The service was excellent. The owner was friendly, he said they have the brakes checked within the hour. He called told me what I needed. I had a timing belt done to my Lexus 6 months ago. After that I noticed it wasn't exactly running the same. Last week it would not start which required towing and a week in the garage. The problem was all due to the timing belt that was installed. The belt was fine but the installation was a disaster. It had be be done all over again and it almost cost me the engine of the car. It was so bad the garage saved all the parts to show me what happened. It was a complete hack job. They were appalled with what they found. It was an expensive, horrible experience. I have moved so they're getting off easy with just this review. If I could give zero stars I would. read more
