It's got an amphiteater outside, a theater inside as well as an auditorium, museum, bookstore and a volunteer information desk...Very complete. They show movies throughout the day so you check on the schedule. They also have lots of maps that show bike trails, hiking trails, beaches, etc... Salt Pond Visitor Center plays the seashore's award-winning orientation movie, Standing Bold, throughout the day, and other films show on rotation. Films have open captions and assistive listening. Staff are on duty to assist with trip planning. Brochures and maps are available; ask about the Junior Ranger and B.A.R.K. Ranger programs. Many ranger-guided activities occur or begin at the center. Evening programs are routinely held at the outdoor amphitheater or indoor auditorium during the summer. Nearby are the popular 1.5 mile Nauset Marsh Trail, the Nauset Bicycle Trail, and the Buttonbush Trail, a .25 mile multi-sensory trail that features a guide rope and text panels printed in large lettering and Braille, as well as discovery activities for children. In the visitor center lobby, a large map shows Cape Cod's glacial history, its position in the Gulf of Maine, and natural forces that continue to shape it. There are expansive views of the Salt Pond and Nauset Marsh from the lobby. The visitor center museum emphasizes the cultural themes represented on Cape Cod, including the First People--the Wampanoag; European settlement culture; fishing, life-saving, and lighthouses; communication technology; and tourism. Very complete and educational....Just pleasant and very nicely laid out.

Where can I see great things, learn about history and get a stamp....National Parks. This visitor's center is beautiful. Sure you can go in just to use the restroom but you would be missing the museum, store, video and the view. The museum has many great artifacts including a section on a "recent" find after a storm came through. It is not a place for a large crowd but there is definitely enough space to move around. The museum has a portion dedicated to the Native American tribes in the area. The store.... I didn't dare walk in. From the hallway I could see many great souvenirs but I am trying to downsize at home. Pssst.... the stamp station is right outside the store. Be sure to stay for the 14 minute movie. I watched the credits through to the end and saw that it was made in 2018. Thank you NPS for another great visitor center and knowledgable, friendly staff.

Wow! What an…read moreadorable Audubon location. We visited during the rain so we didn't see as much of the trails as we would have normally - but still had fun with what we did see. We had 3 generations visiting - my husband and me, our 4 year old daughter, and Grandparents. The Discovery Center just opened so their isn't much there yet - but the friendly staffer more than made up for that. The staffer took time to show exhibits to my daughter and show the grandparents their interactive bird call computer. Made the museum part feel so much more welcoming. Thank you!!! We also stopped by the wooden playground and took a lap around the pond. We'll definitely return in dry weather. We saw some goats hanging out under a tent to escape the rain too. They're cute.

Several visitor center reviews praise the bathrooms, and they're not wrong. Walk around town and look at the NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS signs. And even if less urgent needs bring you here, it's worth a stop. I didn't see the movie but there was a nice museum-type section with a couple of boats, displays of people doing 1800s-type activities and an Instagrammable model of the original armory (partly destroyed in an 1982 arson fire).

I learned that Salem was the birth place of the National Guard. They had information on the Boston Tea Party, former Presidents, and the history of the area. It was a one of the cooler visitor centers I have been into and I enjoyed it evne though it was a quick stop.

They have clean restrooms (major plus), although we never had issues finding bathroom while strolling around Boston. They have great maps of Boston and a nice one of the subway system, super helpful. This is where Freedom Trail starts, you can book tours here. They don't have an actual map for it, I printed one I found online because I didn't want to do a guided tours, I wanted to hit all the spots. Nice customer service, a friendly crew working here. They sell a nice souvenir selection, OK prices, I snagged a few, a lobster Christmas ornament for myself because... Great place to shop for souvenirs, you won't find many shops in town. When you start your Boston trip, start here for map, advice, info and a souvenir or two!

A steady stream of international visitors came into the small building that was outfitted with all kinds of printed info. As the gateway to Cape Cod, Plymouth is a popular stop for many. Such a clean attractive historic town, it had instant appeal. I was even able to find free parking just up the hill in St. Peters parking lot. The church is a stately white with the tallest steeple in town. Easy to see.

You can also hike along the beach and tidal pools during low tide with beauty views of Sandy Neck beach across the harbor. Plenty of parking by the visitor center and a small lot by the beach entrance. Definitely worth checking out with the kids!

I brought my proof of purchase and was provided tickets at the ticket booth. No issues at all with the ride and experience. We were able to board about 15 minutes before hand and found window seats with a great view. Service was prompt. We departed at exactly 8:15 am and 3:30pm. Seats were comfortable and an outlet for charging was available at our table.

They had made the trip many times before. They told us where to go and what to do for every step. That says a lot that you have customers who are willing to help others.
