I used them a connecting flight though United and one of my bags got bumped because of weight restriction. It's been 24 hours and I can see from air tag that my bag is still sitting there. Customer service is non existant with no real answers. Will never fly with them again read more

Upon arrival to the gate. I reported my weight, and got new boarding pass. There were some other cancelations and it was a busy gate. The flight was delayed for an hour. I asked multiple time about the flight and I was told to sit down where I met other travelers on the same flight. Later, they started boarding my flight. I stood in the boarding line but when I got to the agent she denied to let me board. She claimed she wanted to know who is on the flight and didn't see me and called for me and I wasn't around even though I was standing in line. I was moved to a later flight. The lack of honesty about why I was removed from the flight is astounding. I am watching other flights board and I don't see any agent checking the passengers before they board. I was lied to and denied boarding for a reason not clear to me. I called customer service and even they were shocked as they heard the agent rudeness. Eventually she told me the pilot made the decision to remove me from the flight but didn't explain why! read more

I have flown inter island flights to and from the islands; Caribbean and Nantucket and The Vineyard. Cape Air has always been a positive experience. Our recent flight from Mayaguez to SJU was flawless; on time and safe and smooth. We loved Cape Air. read more

A huge shout-out to Customer Service Rep Ronni at Virgin Gorda. We were forced to fly Cape Air with the sudden bankruptcy of another airline. Our luggage was outside the weight limits of their small plane. Ronni, ensured our bags were rushed through to our final destination (3 connections and even a few ferry rides). She was proactive in communicating with us every step of the way. She deserves a big promotion and huge raise! read more

Worst manages small airline in the world. as a regular daily flyer from New Bedford, I'm constantly stuck in Nantucket on Fridays because the company does not know what the fuck they are doing and does not care about its passengers. They bring you there in the morning, but could care less how you're getting home. Have you ever tried getting a hotel room on Nantucket? It cost more for one night than it does to fly all week. and it comes out of your pocket, not theirs. read more

Cape Air cancelled my flight from MVY to BOS without any prior notification. So I showed up to the airport to check-in and they looked at me puzzled and said that my flight had been cancelled a while ago. They said that they should have called me to let me know. I received no call, voicemail, text message, or email regarding any flight cancellation. After a discussion with the staff at MVY I was told that the best they could do would be to get me on a flight 2 days later. Mind you we are traveling with a 2 month old infant and I tried explaining to them that I have no where to take my family. They essentially shrugged and told me "good luck". This is the worst airline experience I have ever had. To anyone reading this I cannot stress enough how much I do not recommend Cape Air. If traveling to MVY or Nantucket just take a ferry and plan for the additional time. read more

This is based on a flight from BOS to Provincetown: While the flight itself it short, fun, and interesting, the main problem with Cape Air is reliability of schedule - i.e. Will the flight depart on time, if at all? Be prepared that you will be asked your weight when you check-in. That was fine...but then - in my case -- it turned out there were two planes going to P'town. They assigned us to the aircraft based on weight, and I was assigned to the 2nd aircraft...which departed a full hour after the first one. As for my return flight to Boston: Cape Air canceled the flight about three hours before departure. So, to get back to Boston, I took the ferry. While the ferry is a 90-minute ride (and can sometimes be delayed), I would recommend anyone take the ferry over Cape Air. Cape Air is simply too unreliable. read more

I bought a ticket 6 months in advance - for a 26-day long European trip. They canceled the flight an hour before the departure, due to a ground stop (that happens to them often) and provided no alternative transportation, despite they usually do that, and despite sending me a message that they would. I showed up at an empty airport except for two very unhelpful and rude members of their staff, with no other option but to drive very fast to Boston and park at Logan Airport (at $41/day) to catch my flight to Europe (I had already reserved 4 Airbnb's and 2 car rentals in 4 different countries). They refunded my round trip with them, but so far refused to cover the cost of my parking at Logan, which was solely caused by their negligence and indolence. read more

This was my first and last experience with Cape Air. My flight was cancelled an hour before departure and ended up costing me hundreds of dollars more with travel and parking fees. All I got was a disingenuous sorry. I have never felt so insignificant by an airline in all my years of traveling. Companies stay small or go under when they treat people this way. Shame. on. Missed my connection home due to Cape Air. (Vieques PR to San Juan-DFW-LAX). Took off over 45min late as they could not figure out the luggage weigh balance for the flight. Check-in is a very tedious process for this airline and they seem to work on "island time" with no regard for connecting flights. 2 stars granted for smooth flights and very nice/profession pilots and newer planes compared to competing airlines that were parked on the Tarmac. Suggestion: leave a min of 2 1/2 hours cushion if trying to make a connection starting w/ Cape Air. read more

So you want to zip up to Boston or over to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard but don't want to waste all day doing it? Cape Air is the way to go! Mind you the planes are small 6-8 seaters, they ask you your weight and seat you accordingly, "Hey fat guy sit up here next to me because we need more weight up front this morning or get your fat ass in the tail behind me", makes it more exciting that way too. Nice views, on a clear day you can see forever! read more

I met really nice Cape Air people at Boston Logan and they told me my flight to Augusta Maine was canceled for weather. They tried to help but gave me directions to a bus down in front of the terminal. Three hours later I was dumped off and was walking 4 miles in a driving rainstorm to my hotel in Maine along I-95. That was a bad night. I remembered this is how Steven King got run down, from behind. Anyway, the squirming and shucking and jiving around my requests for a refund (which was insured) and the playing of the misdirection by sending me back to Delta the originator of the flight was/is an education in how far low customer service in this country has fallen. Nobody knows anything, can't understand English, is offended when asked for the truth and appalled that I am insistent. By the way Covid is the friend now, allowing stupid lazy people to survive. I wrote about this on Delta too, as the big airlines are the kings of crappy customer service. read more

Probably not worth saying since others have said it eloquently. This is not an airline that cares about its passengers. All checked luggage was left on St Thomas yesterday. They said they would deliver it today. At 11 they said it was on St Croix and would deliver by taxi. Please stay near the lobby to accept delivery. 4 hours later and a call to HQ I am told that the taxi won't pick it up before 2. When we landed on St Croix yesterday there were no Cape Air staff to meet the plane and the pilot could not get a response. After 10 minutes the pilot clambered over the passengers to open the door himself. Is this anyway to run an airline? Someone please tell Dan Wolf. read more

Worst airline ever (if you can call it an "airline"). I was flying out of St. Louis and the flight left over 15 minutes early despite repeated calls for the Cape Air shuttle driver to just pick me up from my inbound gate. When I finally got to the Cape Air gate the agent was nice enough to print out a log of my calls (not seen until after my plane left). I note that I have had good luck flying into St. Louis, but DO NOT TAKE Cape Air from St. Louis! read more

Cape Air in Nantucket is very consistent. Consistently bad service, and unreliability. Was booked to make a connection in Boston for a transcontinental trip and the day before they cancelled the flight. The reason was "crew" which I assume was because not enough people booked on flight. Cape Air seems to have an attitude that they don't really care about any inconvenience they cause customers. I am a very seasoned travel and have traveled worldwide and everything goes fine until you hit Boston and Cape Air and then you hit the wall. Mechanical problems, crew, weights and balance, whatever excuse they decide that day. Sure do wish they had some competition. My husband and I have moved a car to Hyannis so we don't have to rely on Cape Air's bad service. read more

I still give them high marks but I am learning (again and again) not to rely on their early flights. It is so frustrating as I time my trips with drives to meetings in and around the Boston area and starting the day on time is key. Just this morning I had a 630 flight and a 930 am meeting in Boston. The 630 didn't leave til 7 am an now I'll be late - a tough way to start the day - especially when it's your board meeting! read more

Worse airline. Totally unreliable. Flights between Boston and Nantucket constantly canceled with very little notification-and not due to weather. Most commonly used reason is "pilot called in sick" or "we have no planes here". Big deal when trying to make connections at Logan. Never use this airline for any flights - or at least do not rely on it! read more

My daughter arrived at Nantucket Airport in plenty of time, but she is sure they had sold her ticket as the check in desk said she was too late to clear TSA which turned out to be untrue. Cost her $450 to reschedule to Boston. The only saving grace was US Air on the phone, Cape Air representatives were absolutely rude, unhelpful and frankly couldn't give a damn about my daughters transportation nightmare. read more

My overall impression - minimalist mentality and effort. Check in so slow - we waited in line for 20 minutes and then it took 20 minutes to check us in. At 5 minutes before departure, the pilot comes in to see what hold up is. Assuming it was because us flyers didn't allow enough time for check in, he pipes up with an announcement - " for future reference, you people need to be checking in sooner if you expect us to stay on time". All 7 of us reported for check in at least 45 minutes prior to departure which should have been plenty of time (website said 30 minutes). And since these planes are small, I guess its common for your luggage to be held back & sent later. It's not the end of the world, but they could at least proactively tell you so you aren't left staring at the baggage claim waiting for luggage that isn't going to arrive - especially when you have another flight to catch. This happened on both legs of our trip. Then the gate attendants failed to make an official boarding announcement instructing us to go downstairs for boarding and 6 of us were unnecessarily close to missing the flight. And there's inconsistent website information and luggage fees as I was erroneously charged $120 in luggage fees. I tried to explain to the check in worker that I shouldn't be charged any fees and why, but no luck. I did write to the company and get my money back, but the whole thing was unnecessary. Very difficult to find the ticket desk in the San Juan airport - no signs to get you there. Plus the departure gate was propped open and had a plant in front of it so you couldn't find it. Lots of time wasted with unnecessary stress. The bad news - this airline lacks protocol, efficiency, customer relations and customer service. The good news - there's room for improvement. read more

Avoid this airline at all costs. Overpriced. Late departures. Rude employees. I booked a flight with them and they overbooked and decided to bump me to the next flight. My original flight departed late which caused the flight they put me on to arrive and leave late. The planes are tiny toy planes with about 7-9 seats. The employees are rude and nobody has answers when you need them. Most of the air vents in the planes don't work. Again, avoid at all costs. read more

Unfortunately zero or negative stars are not options on Yelp because they are deserved for Cape Air . Cape Air makes it virtually impossible to utilize credits from cancelled bookings. I was issued a credit from a cancelled booking which was supposed to be good for until September 2015. The online reservation system doesn't allow you to use credits. The phone reservation desk is fielded by miserable surly people. Two phone attempts, waiting over 20 minutes to get through each time, only to be told that the credit couldn't be found due to recent system change the first time, and your credit has expired in my system the second. In both instances, the agents hung up on me without resolving the problem or offering assistance. There is no way to speak to a human being to escalate. The only phone numbers they have lead you back to the reservation desk or into an endless voice mail system where no one calls back. Hopefully they take better care of their planes than they do their customers. read more

Complain to your boss, not to your potentially commissionable customer. Susan, I'd just like to let you know: our tickets have been purchased, we've found a plane and a tour that will accommodate someone with a wheelchair graciously. And for the end of this month, for the dates we wanted. And guess what? They also didn't need to know about anyone's personal disabilities or where they live because "I do need to know that." Um, no you didn't. And we also booked a pricier hotel in one of the cities to "live a little" and we added a Cabaret show to the trip as well. Thanks so much for never following through. It pays to be nice to people even if you don't want to work with them. At the end of the day, your nasty attitude made money walk out your agencies door. One that you said is still around where the rest have failed over the years because of the airlines. I hope you loose business, I hope this review helps the cause. And I hope you find a new position as a porter for Bouse House because you're truly a trash human. Thanks for helping me make the decision to take my business somewhere else. I did a terrible job planning my flights and ended up in Boston several hours earlier than my Cape Air flight - not a problem! They put me on the next flight out... and what's more it seemed as if all the employees I dealt with actually enjoyed their job! I found the pilots particularly funny... Now, I must admit I was a bit nervous when I was asked how much I weighed (I assume they do this to calculate the amount of fuel needed) and even more so when I saw how tiny the aircraft was (see picture). It was quite windy out and the aircraft did bounce around quite a bit. However, the views of Boston and then Nantucket were absolutely stunning. The actual plane is tiny and flies fairly low (compared to larger planes) so you will get spectacular views. Definitely a very cool experience. I would recommend Cape Air to anyone, especially to those visiting Nantucket.

Cape operates the main 'customer service' call center for this (888) 551-0145 phone number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This (toll-free) number is open 24 hours for flight reservations, ticket changes, cancellations, baggage inquiries, refund requests, modifications, and other travel-related requirements. As an Emerald member with the oneworld alliance, I have always received complimentary seat selection on partner airlines. That changed with Royal Jordanian. I paid $140 for two seats that were clearly shown as a two seat row. When my wife and I boarded, we discovered the row actually had three seats. No one pays extra for a middle seat -- ever. My seat number was k6 and the seat has no cushion whatsoever, I had to stack pillows and blanket to prevent back pain Most incompetent company I've had to deal with. Called someone in Detroit to get information about the plane and flight, he gives me another number to call I believe it was in Chicago. I call that number, another person tells me we don't handle this, you have to call another number. Called that number, that person gave me the original Detroit number. I called Detroit back, another person answers and gives me the information I was asking to begin with. Not done yet. I finally check in and get on the plane, plane was gorgeous and flight attendants for most part were very hard working. Half the people on this flight were idiots, loud, arrogant, dirty and bathrooms even after a couple hours in flight were dirty, urine on the floor, clogged up sinks. Absolutely disgusting!!!! Like a fourth world country on a top of the line plane. I will never ever fly Royal Jordanian again!!!! Would rather pay twice as much and get to Amman in 3 days then fly this airline.
