We bring our doggie here regularly 2 days a week and it's true a tired dog is a happy dog. He loves going here and they are so good to him. It's a great place because it's leash free play during the day and they take a break for lunch from 12-2 but the rest of the time it's like he's at the dogpark all day and he's super happy when he comes home. It's does become a little expensive but it's better then having a puppy digging in the yard when we are at work.

The puppy sleeps after a tiring day of play!

Felicia gives this place 4 enthusiastic paws up! Day camp tires her out and gives her confidence and social skills. And I am 100 percent at ease that she is well-cared for the times when she has spent the night. Michelle plans fun social gatherings like outdoor movie nights that provides a unique training situation and makes my Felicia have to behave. Well, she tries to behave. We still need to take basic obedience, but that's for another day...

Bark Busters came to us highly recommended. After some research and reviewing Ted Talk and…read morearticles, I signed up our two rescue mix breed ~20lb boys. We are grateful to James of BB who placed us with Jenna. Our boys issues: high reactivity outside, especially other dogs, and inside, door bell, ring cameras, etc. Coupled with greetings by jumping and owning the house. Jenna set us on a path of activities for inside and was incredibly patient letting me share and ask questions, learning constantly. As we fine-tuned and we all got more comfortable we moved our training to outside. The methodology used is absolutely amazing and, I dare say, short of a miracle. We practice regularly and introduce the boys to different circumstances. All that food luring and positive food reinforcement training certainly has its place but only the techniques of BB with Jenna has helped our boys become trusting, comfortable, and happy. Here I thought I had to scan the horizon constantly to be aware of incoming dogs to prepare myself to hide behind a car or go in the corner behind garbage cans to get maximum distance. Not true. I walk no longer with my head on a lazy susan. We all are forever grateful. Our boys can lead richer more social lives. Thank you!!!

As first-time dog owners, the early support really did help us. Having someone we could call during those overwhelming first months was a relief. Over time, though, I realized I was hoping the training would shift toward more positive reinforcement. The constant, harsher corrections worked at first but eventually didn't seem effective anymore and started affecting my relationship with Mimi. I noticed this during a family trip where Mimi, who is usually fearful of strangers, bonded more easily with my husband and his family. She gravitated toward them when scared, and I realized it might be because they weren't following the correction-heavy approach, while I was. I also asked for help with Mimi's fear and reactivity toward other dogs, but was told they didn't have dogs available for training and that I would need to bring a calm, socialized dog myself. As a non-trainer, that was very hard, but we tried by traveling many hours to introduce her to my husband's family dog. The experience ended up being chaotic since the family didn't fully understand what the process required, and new people and dogs kept appearing even though Mimi wasn't ready. Her reactivity came back in that environment, which made me feel like the training had only put a bandaid on deeper fear issues. Maybe I should have clarified expectations better from the start, but with a high-need dog and being new to all of this, I didn't know what to expect. Since then, we've switched to a positive reinforcement trainer who organizes structured group activities. Mimi is still scared of bigger dogs and can still be reactive, but she's improving slowly and has been able to meet a few smaller dogs. She's also still fearful of people, but she nips a lot less now, so progress is happening. Overall, Bark Busters helped us in the beginning, but long-term we found that a different, more positive approach has been a better fit for Mimi.

I couldn't invite people to the house. Summer of 2025 I have a dog that loves meeting new dogs and people and runs around OB dog beach off leash. She's not reactive, she has great recall, she makes friends, I can have people over, she listens to commands, and she's so easy to walk. I took her into the vet this week and they removed the 'bite risk' warning from her file, they said it's like a completely different dog. She's not anxious or fearful. She's confident, playful, and so happy. All of this was because of training with John. He is patient, gentle, and kind. I can't put into words how grateful I am that we found him. We were scared to even bring her outside on a walk because she would go insane at anything that moved. We looked around for weeks trying to find the right place but many places weren't reliable and didn't seem like they would work. We contacted devotion to dogs and right away I knew we had to at least give it a shot. Going in I wasn't sure if it would work or if I was just wasting my money but I had to give it a shot. Even just after the first appointment, I felt confident taking her on walks and even being able to have her look at other people and dogs then look back at me for approval. It was really a night and day difference. I could not recommend this place more and honestly without them and without their help through this process I don't know where I would be with her. I can bring her confidently to a park and drop the leash knowing that she will come back to me the second I say. If you are looking for a sign to get your dog trained here this is it!

When they first moved to their current location, for me, it was farther away, not nearly as convenient & it has a horrible parking lot! However, I have remained a loyal customer. Why? Because of two very special employees & the high quality standard of customer service they provide. From the very beginning, Jacki welcomed me like an old friend. She made me feel like I was already a part of the Kahoots family & not just another invisible stranger coming through their door. Later, when I met Carol, she was also very welcoming & treated me like I was part of the Kahoots family. Over the years, the two of them have shared with me their wealth of product knowledge & personal experiences. There excellence in customer service has been instrumental in developing a long lasting relationship. They have always gone above & beyond to help me, no matter what! Whenever I have had an issue or a question that they had no a mediate answer for, they did not hide from it. They said that they did it because I asked the size of the mother and discussed the potential size of the puppy. I just think that's kind of weird. I thought you were supposed to ask a lot of questions when you adopted a dog we are semi retired and home all the time we have a large property in El Cajon with large fenced in area. I video taped my entire property for them to view. In addition, we also own another property in Arizona. We are in a very good place to have a pet we've adopted many times from shelters sometimes across the country! I've even paid for dogs to be sent to me from rural shelters in Mississippi to save their lives . I have never gone through the mental anguish as I have gone through dealing with this rescue. The emotional drama of going back-and-forth with them over the last couple weeks has absolutely worn me down. My heart is broken and I am crying. It is very emotional... certainly, they must realize that people to get very attached when they are about to adopt a puppy. These folks that I had to deal with had no compassion or humanity as to the pain that I am feeling. The foster mom Lesley was amazing, compassionate and kind. I wish I could've just out directly with her. I was told that they would notify me if anything changed that there were no applications for the dog that I wanted. I asked for the ZELLE to pay them. They told me not to rush that there were no other applications and that they would let me know if anything changed. Well, they did not; they simply adopted the dog out to what was supposed to be a temporary foster. My heart is absolutely broken. I am crushed to the core. Please be careful dealing with this rescue group. I understand that they are all just volunteers, but certainly they must understand that people become attached . when I expressed how upset I was and that I couldn't understand how this happened. They basically told me to put my adoption process on hold which I think means they won't allow me to adopt from them. I don't know. I guess there's other puppies that are available from that same litter. I was not aware. I thought they were all adopted, but I don't think that they will allow them to be adopted to me . Essentially they would rather have the dogs never find a home rather than to be adopted to someone who really wants the dog. Pretty absolutely amazing if you ask me. They also were very against me fostering to adopt, however, allowed someone else to foster her and after five or six days, they apparently decided to adopt her. They had initially told me that the foster did not intend to adopt her and that I could pick her up when I got back from Arizona. Today, I leave to go home to San Diego and I am so sad because I won't be able to pick up my girl... I hope the person that has her gives her a good and can give her an amazing life . I will not have that opportunity.
