Overall, I would recommend getting this service is you value fresh farm local fruits and veggies! The also have lots of other items that are local and organic!

The food was fresh. I never got anything bad or weird aside from a couple bumped apples. I got a discount code a while ago and used it, got an okay box and although it was pricey for the amount, I let it ride. Then I got a free coupon in my email. Come back to us and we'll give you one! And of course, can I say no to a freebie? Never. However, I feel like this box must have had a Post-it note on it while being assembled that said it was free because it had rotting moldy corn in it and beets with black fungus on them. I was raised on a farm so a few bugs or whatever doesn't bother me but when you put moldy or fungusy vegetables in with other vegetables that contaminates everything. It's gross. It's bad. I do not appreciate. Anyway, I canceled again and I'll stay canceled this time. I would recommend picking your fruit n veg yourself at the local farm stands, better price and you can SEE the quality.

Those are all very valid reasons to love this place alone, but for me this place has a few sentimental reasons that I enjoy them and value them so much. One I remember when my children were quite young and they would stay at their grandmothers in the Bay Area for days at a time and when we did the kid exchange it was always done at the Pedricks parking lot and then the kids and I would walk into the market and they would each pick out a treat-I cherish those memories. The other thing I think about Pedrick is way back when, during the time when the Covid-Era lockdown was coming to an end,I remember the 1st day they told us we could begin going outside again, the very 1st place the wifey and I drove to was Pedricks. We jumped in the car in Natomas and beelined straight for some fresh fruit and veggies and whatever other treats we could find that day at Pedricks. It was such a joy to see them open and fully stocked that day,I might as well have been going to Disneyland,we were so happy to see people again. Fast forward to today and I find myself going here about once a month, whenever I'm either driving to or from the Bay Area usually visiting relatives. It's a great spot to pick up the freshest and tastiest fruits and veggies to bring to events. I am also a certified ChiliHead,so their vast collection of hot sauces is unmatched in the area-a true must stop spot for anyone who considers themselves a hot sauce connoisseur. Yep other things that really stand out at Pedricks is their wide variety of fresh nuts available for purchase-they truly have so many varieties and flavors at pretty decent pricing. I also really enjoy their candy selection,I truly need to use extreme discipline when I gaze upon their candy offerings as they have so much and as much of a sweet tooth as I have,I have to learn often to just say no and walk away-I'm glad it's here though. In closing,In case it's not obvious,I really truly do recommend Pedricks as it's a great market offering some of the best fruits and veggies in the area, along with so much more. Love this place.

So I paid for a month in advance (you pay by check either by the month or the quarter) and waited for my first pick up. Fortunately there are a few options for picking up your box in Napa (check their website to see if there's one nearby you) including one only a mile away from our home. Yeah! The pickup location, at least in my area, is in someone's carport which is fairly typical of CSAs, thank goodness for volunteers. Just verify your pick up by signing the clipboard by your name, grab your box or unload it into your own bags (if you take the box return it in your next visit) then prepare to be wowed by the amazing produce. Each week is a little but different and changes along with the season. What's always in the box is the most beautiful organic produce I've ever seen. This weeks box had a bunch of gorgeous rainbow chard which was sautéed along with Fatted Calf sweet sausage served on top of Model bread with poached eggs. Best chard ever! I've posted a few pics of the last few boxes, judge for yourself, Riverdog Farm is amazing. It doesn't get any better than this. PS... They also raise organic fed hogs and chickens. Picked up my first pork share (delivered along with my regular box pick up) and the cuts look so tasty. Can not wait to braise the fresh hocks. Check their website for a complete list of pork share offerings.

I was pretty confident that I'd written about Riverdog in the past and was somewhat shocked to see that I praised only their eggs in my short initial review. Yes, the eggs are great, and everyone knows it. But I can make a long, long list of Riverdog products that consider to be top notch: green garlic, raw chickens, pork chops, carrots, daikons, asparagus tips, onions, black radishes, little gems when they're available, .... At the moment, their early girl and heirloom tomatoes are truly excellent. In recent weeks, I've gotten their squash and green beans -- excellent again, of course. Riverdog prices are not outrageous, in view of the high quality. Their wares merit a detour. The farmers (Trini and Tim) and their employees (shout out here for Becky) are all super-nice. Check them out!
