It has the same thoughtful vibe and is absolutely worth browsing plant-centric items. This is my go-to spot for gifts, although I'll admit some items mysteriously end up staying with me. The selection is fantastic: unique Detroit-themed T-shirts, beautiful jewelry, coasters, drinkware, cutting boards, locally made soaps, baby gifts, and so much more. Everything has a Michigan connection, and a lot of the pieces come from local artists and makers, which makes shopping here feel even more meaningful. What really sets this place apart, though, is the people behind it. The staff are genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and clearly invested in their community. You can tell they care about supporting local artists, small businesses, and the neighborhood as a whole -- and that makes supporting them feel good too. The only notebooks in here are the same low-end rebranded Chinese stuff you find at big box stores like Barnes & Noble or overrated Moleskine crap that's everywhere. If you want "the good stuff" like Tomoe River, Rhodia, Midori, Mnemosyne, Clairefontaine, etc. paper and notebooks you'll have to just buy it online because they don't carry it.

I grew up loving stationery stores and want to support the few remaining ones like Paper Source. Unfortunately, the prices at Paper Source are very high, from greeting cards to gift wrap and gift bags. Also, you can't always get the service that you want right away. Earlier this month, I arrived to Paper Source soon after it opened at 10:00 and requested gift wrapping service. I bought a gift for a birthday party and wanted it nicely wrapped. There were two sales associates there and neither was able to offer gift wrapping services. I was told to return at around 3:30 and a sales associate on duty may be able to gift wrap for me. Also, they usually need 24 hours advance notice for gift wrapping. When I returned in the afternoon a little before 3:30, I was told that the person might be in at 4:00. I looked at the prices of the boxes and gift bags and decided that none of the waiting was worth it to have to likely spend $30+ dollars on a box, gift wrapping, and a gift bag. I went to Dollar Tree on Maple Road in Troy where there is a large assortment of gift bags. I bought a clear cellophane bag for $1.25 to put the gift in before placing it in a sparkly Happy Birthday gift bag for another $1.25. Total price was $2.50 and I didn't have to wait hours to have to spend ten times more at Paper Source. It's unfortunate because Paper Source can't afford to lose more customers to places like Dollar Tree or Party City, but it will continue to happen because of the high prices and lack of quick services. The quality difference of boxes and gift bags between a high end store like Paper Source and Dollar Tree is negligible. I also prefer Hallmark to Paper Source because I get a lot of coupons from Hallmark, including a monthly free greeting card signing up for Crown Rewards.

That they have 3 different locations in SE Michigan, and trust that I've been to all 3! The floor plans and the products offered are different amongst all 3, which makes it all the more fun (or challenging, however you look at it) to hunt for the perfect treasures to gift your loved ones. She didn't greet us or any of the other customers who walked in. She barely spoke to my friend who actually made a purchase...nor did she thank her for the purchase! They also have a snarky sign posted on the wall about not stealing from a small business so they can stay in business...I have an idea...how about you help the customers who are actually shopping local!!! That would help you stay in business and deter theft! The store used to be great in their old location, it is way too crowded now. They had some cute things but I refuse to purchase anything in a place that doesn't treat me well. I doubt I'll be back, there are so many great boutiques in Rochester to support.

We were blown away by the incredibly well made jewelry items, kids products, masks, and quirky collectables. I got them a massive play kitchen last Holiday season, so this was a perfect find! The store is also inside an adorable pink house ( Great for photo ops) I LOVE all the unique gifts, especially all the made in Michigan gifts. Being from Michigan and living in California, I LOVE showing my MI pride out of state. However, I've noticed a consistent pattern that's made me increasingly uncomfortable. Each time we're in the store, the staff behaves as if we're being watched closely--asking if we want items held at the counter or having an employee follow us under the pretense of folding shirts while we browse. I've spent over $100 here so far and don't appreciate being treated with suspicion. Having worked in retail myself, I'm familiar with the signs of someone being monitored because they're assumed to be stealing, and that's how it feels every time I shop here. I really like the shop's selection--especially the Jellycats--but there are other local stores that carry similar products. I'm willing to give the shop one more chance, but if I experience this same treatment again, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

She was able to guide me in choosing a invitations suite for my upcoming wedding without breaking the bank. I was also happy to order thank you cards for both the wedding and the bridal shower! She assisted my mom in selecting invitations for a bridal brunch she is hosting. Sue is able to print in house for envelopes and casual invitations. Any correspondence was met with a quick response making the whole process a breeze! I could go on and on! She was nice to look in the back to find a votive holder for me that I will use for tea light candles. I will stop by again when I'm in Downtown Plymouth.
