I bought what seemed to be a perfectly normal belt for $11. After wearing it once, it completely fell apart. This is not the sign of a "delicate vintage belt" this is the sign of a cheap knock off item being overpriced under the guise of "vintage". When I went back into the shop, she told me that if I'm not prepared for an item being "delicate" then "maybe vintage's not for you babe". She offered me a measly $3 consolation prize and told me if I had gone into any other vintage store they would have thrown me out.

It is being run by the artists themselves, 19 distinct artists who are putting their souls into this venture. We found a lovely selection of mostly local artists, from impressionist painters, to photographers. In addition to having original works of arts, there were many prints and reproductions available to choose from, from the various artists. We really enjoyed the personal descriptions the members of the coop gave for themselves, their approach to artwork and their love for their work. In the end, we purchased a few photographs, but also found a particular particular painting we enjoyed. And while that painting was unavailable, we found the artist and commissioned a work from her as a result. We found the people running this gallery to be honest, friendly, and thoughtful, and patient with their customers. A very nice presentation overall.

Anyway, this rock shop is HUGE and my favorite kind. Not a lot of woowoo stuff, which means the prices are generally better. Add those little paper slips telling you about healing powers and the price goes up. This shop was a nerdy rock girl's heaven. The rocks were well organized and abundant! There was a display of local rocks, my favorite. I love to get local rocks when I travel, but am very careful about not picking them up on my own from protected areas. At this shop I was able to get some local petrified wood, among many other purchases. The service is very friendly and knowledgeable and I hope to return to visit soon.
