First of all, she's the absolute sweetest. Throughout the process, she never made me feel judged or like I was a lost cause. Her whole demeanor was so uplifting, she seemed excited to help me and that made me feel excited, too. She pulled up several options in my budget & that would work with my credit, options I didn't even know existed! We settled on a beautiful, renovated studio in the downtown area, I applied and got approved within an hour. When I tell you I got in my vehicle and cried the happiest of tears. I never thought I'd see the day! I'll be recommending everyone, literally everyone, I know to Prestige Realty and especially to Nora. Jovanni was our agent and I told him (and wrote down) I only had $1200 in moving expenses. This guy tells us we got approved for an apartment that was $1450 a month (which is fine as long as there are move-in specials) turns out there were NO move in specials and the apartment management company doesn't have an office so we could sit down and actually break down all the fees. I've rented many apartments in my life and never in all my years has my experience been so bad. Random fees would pop up out of nowhere and now all of a sudden we have to pay $2300 just to move in! Mind you- we already packed up our entire life and moved out of our previous apartment because NO ONE COMMUNICATED WITH US UNTIL LAST SECOND THAT WE HAVE TO PAY 2x THE AMOUNT JUST TO MOVE IN! I put in a work order for my bath tub knob because when I turn on the water on my tub the water came out from the knob and not the spout/faucet. The maintenance man came to my apartment and determined they would need a plumber due to the issue. Weidner apartment homes hired a new plumbing vendor to come to my apartment to replace the water valve in my tub. The vendor they hired performed workmans negligence and did not remove or cover any of my belongings in my bathroom before sawing into the wall which then caused moisture exposed drywall dust that contains crystalline, silica, asbestos, and sulfur compounds to lay all over my bathroom and personal items. After communicating with Penny Pederson and Veronica Lugo, I was specifically instructed by Penny that if I placed a claim with my renters insurance through motif that it wouldn't be covered and she emphasized on their being a deductible that I would have to pay. As being a licensed insurance agent I know about deductibles and how renters insurance works. I felt heavily undermined, Disparaged, and treated as if I was less than a person. Communicating with Penny was made to be very difficult as she has raised her voice at me, spoke to me as if I was brainless, and has hung up on me more than once in separate interactions. As someone who was MDD and Anxiety I make sure that my interactions with leasing agents is respectful because I treat others the way I would like to be treated. Penny has not done so, even with the extent of the issue surpassing 2 weeks of miscommunication, being given the runaround, and not treated as a valued resident. I've spoken with Veronica twice once in person and once over the phone. She has done her best to communicate and try to rectify the situation but it has still remained unresolved and not something that they can handle apparently. I've been lied to as the plumbing company has not taken responsibility for the damage of my items, I've worked with them to allow them the chance to solve the issue. I've been treated as they do not care or have the professionalism to communicate, take responsibility, or have my items reimbursed or replaced. My items were everyday items I used such as face wash, body wash, shower loofahs, toothbrushes, towels, combs and brushes, etc. I have been without them for over a week, unable to correctly groom myself or maintain a healthy mental state in the place I'm supposed to call home. The way Motif has handled business since I have signed my lease has completely repulsive and I am surprised after the $1 million lawsuit they just settled in January of this year wasn't enough to deter innocent people from becoming residents, or the BBB Customer reviews they have ALL recently from this July of 2026 showing the true state and treatment of actual residents who pay our hard earned money to be treated like monkeys and lions and elephants in a circus. I am truly disheartened by the interaction I had to today. And I'm making it a mission to speak with the the president of this property management Mr.Dean Weidner. I have reached out and am expecting to have a very detailed and paper trail documents presented to show the treatment I have been given by his employees. I will also be submitting a BBB claim because I have not been reimbursed or even handled professionally in the slightest.

She is very fair to both tenant and landlords. We might not agree on everything, but at least I can bring it up and discuss with her, and she will let me know her point of views. But when I prefer to handle it in certain way, she respects my request and will accommodate where make sense.

Attached is a photo of the failure to fix lights in the covered parking adjacent to the apartments next door. For months and months, I've asked for this to be fixed. Residents from the apts next door will use the hoods of cars to jump back and forth to commit crimes including assault and theft. At the basketball court, a man was jumped by 10 men in hooded masks. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE FROM THIS PLACE! EDIT: Since you responded and said "We also take reports of maintenance concerns, including lighting, seriously and strive to address them as promptly as possible," I wanted to tell you that I have a paper trail of emails back and forth for MONTHS about the lighting and no changes so please don't respond with lies.
