Just had the full enclosure on our 2003 33' Grady White express replaced by Dave. This is the 2nd set of canvas work Dave has done on this boat over its 23 years, and both enclosures have been of excellent quality. The 1st set lasted 14 years. Dave was easy to work with, responsive, got the work done on time, as promised, and for a great price. I cannot say enough great things about Yanni and Canvas by Yanni. Yanni is not only a great guy personally, but his work is absolutely phenomenal. He does exactly what he promises, delivers on time, and the quality of his craftsmanship really stands out. I shopped several canvas companies before making my decision, and nobody could match his combination of price, quality, and turnaround time. His pricing was very fair (actually better than most), and the finished product exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for someone reliable who takes pride in their work and delivers a high-quality product when they say they will, Yanni is your guy. I would highly recommend Canvas by Yanni to anyone looking for top-notch canvas work. -- Tom McMenamin read more

I cannot even put into words how much this man deserves to be behind bars. He stole money from me. Refuses to return it. Refuses to complete his job. I saw some negative reviews and some positive reviews and decided to give him a chance. Please DO NOT DO IT. My dad is dying of Alzheimer's and this was his last summer he'd be able to be on my boat so I wanted to get a full set of canvas covers, cushions and gull wings - the gull wings because he's so unstable and unable to deal with spray and wind. This crook robbed me of my last summer on the boat w my dad. Anyone who is interested - I will send you the full text thread where week to week it's all promised - he'll call you "brother" he'll make every excuse in the book - his wife, his truck, his workers, his bills, whatever. It's BULLSHIT. All bullshit. Do not believe a word of it. This man is a criminal and belongs behind bars. I'm filing suit as we speak. It's enough. He even told me he'd have my stuff done in a week (three months ago) if I gave him a good review because he's so badly in need of them. See screenshot below. I don't know what his story is and I am beyond caring. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. There is a Facebook page dedicated to making sure people don't get scammed by him. I wish I'd found it before I gave him my money. Check it out - "Who Is David Yanni." Paid him in January 2025. Was supposed to get my stuff a month later. In May I still didn't have cushions. He finally delivered them and they're actually nice. And then that was it. Nothing further. Just lies. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. If I could rate him ZERO stars I would. He's a thief. Don't believe the positive reviews - the Facebook page suggests they're all with the last initial "H" like they're all made up. I don't doubt it. Burn your money. You'll get more satisfaction. Today he told me to take him to court. See below. He was counting on it. Done. read more

I just pick up by top from his shop and I am very happy with the job that he did its beautiful. I have met a lot of people in my life but he is one of the nicest guys I net in a long time. He quoted me a price and a time period for the work to be completed and he delivered on time. I will tell all my boating friends to bring there work to him. read more

Premium work with attention to detail at a reasonable price! From the start Yanni was very responsive on the phone and when we met on my boat he explained everything in detail. Throughout the process he kept me updated on his progress even around fighting the challenging winds. Despite the weather challenges he went the extra mile to make sure everything fit perfectly. I appreciated all the detail but especially how he made everything user friendly which can be unique to each boat. For example having extra tabs so it's easier to grab in tight areas and added snaps for convenience keeping it's functionality in mind. Overall I highly recommend Yanni and will be reaching out to him for any future canvas work. read more

Yanni back in January 2016 had hounded me for a contract after I had inquired about having a canvas enclosure made for my boat. I had a hard time trusting him and he kept sending me invoices to pay a deposit via Paypal. Even that was sketchy as he sent it wrong and would take too much time for him to receive the money so he cancelled and sent a new invoice. After he was paid $900 deposit he disappeared for a while. Once I had re launched the boat in the spring, he wouldn't return calls and messages for a couple of weeks. Once he did all he kept saying is you're in you're in. You got a great deal etc... Fast forward of all the run around and promises, it is January 2018 and he still has not come through on returning my deposit as he promised over and over again. he says he did me bad and I am a good person and he hit a rough patch, etc... Well this is the year I will go after him for restitution and press criminal charges on him. I have been told he was laid up jail for this same thing, ripping people off. Well, I too will seek to have him held in a cage after I am through with him. If you even consider paying this guy a dime after reading his reviews, then you will just throw your money away and never see it again. He will sound very convincing and con you into trusting him, shame on me for allowing that to happen and not using my gut feeling to stay away. Don't be his next victim, this guy is absolutely a criminal. He robs our money to support his drug habits as well. read more

This guy is the biggest scammer I have ever come across. He took my deposit back in September after promising he would get the job completed within 2 - 3 weeks. We are on 3 months and he has never showed up. Stupid me sent a check to him which he deposited immediately. I have already contacted my local police department which in turn will be contacting his in Egg Harbor. I plan on pressing full charges against David since he is a scam artist. I beg of you to not use this guy. He is a liar and a cheat of the worst type and cannot be trusted. His biggest defense is saying the weather has been bad....well David we are in a drought so your BS excuses are no longer working on me. read more

Better business Bureau rated F . He is not reliable and will take your deposit and never complete what is promised. We have a lawyer on it . It's been almost 1 year and the full enclosure we gave Dave YANI 900.00 to start .had only left us with a 2 foot Bimini with our old poles .he said he have us that for now while he completed the full enclosure for our 22 foot fishing boat. He hasn't responded to us in months and has not finished the Job. It was promise to be completed by April 2016 . It's now October and he's suddenly off the grid. DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY. IF YOU DO USE PAYPAL SO YOU CAN,DISPUTE AND GET,YOUR MONEY BACK. read more

this man takes your money n dies not shoq up or make product..help..how can I get my money

He is a complete scam artist. This is not his first rodeo either, and has been given multiple chances to make things right. I signed a contract, gave him a deposit and he disappeared. I was without a bimini top for the season, and I was finally able to get my credit card deposit back after winning a dispute. If you are looking for a reputable canvas craftsman, David Yanni is not for you. read more
