The first hour was on forest trails with slight inclines & declines. Anyone can do it even if you've never ridden before. Second half of ride was mostly walking upstream then downstream in a slow flowing river. Horses seemed to really enjoy this as it zigzagged up about 1/4 mile. The home is exactly what we needed. Clean, open, and with all of the amenities that you would expect from your own home. On the property there are horses, a rabbit, a barn cat, a pond for fishing (full of carp and sunfish), and clear open skies. I woke up at 4:30am on Saturday morning to take a picture of the comet that was visible prior to sunrise, and it was beautiful. There are several rules posted in the house on the fridge, most of which are common sense, so please respect the property and the animals, which are mostly being boarded here. Wifi is available and there was a hot tub out back which we enjoyed each night under the stars. I would definitely stay here again.

There was a group about to leave that we could join so it worked perfectly. We filled out the wavers and also rented a Go Pro for our helmet. After that, we got our harness from our two guides. The two guides we had were amazing and so informative and the kept us entertained the entire time. They actually made the experience fun for us. For 80 per person, you get to ride six different lines that range in height, distance, and speed. Before every ride, the guides give safety tips and the best way to enjoy the ride. For a first-time rider, I'm so glad I was in the hands of Canopy Ridge I felt safe and I was never unsure on every line. It also involves some hiking but only a few steps. We enjoyed being in Nature and the weather was perfect. If you are ever in the area of Canopy Ridge Farm is a must.

From potbelly pigs and goats to sheep, geese, ducks, and cows, there are over 100 animals and spending time with them is just really good for the soul. The self-guided tours are wonderful and the property is gorgeous. The volunteers and founder Trina (her partner and co-founder passed away-- rest in power, Barb!) are such great stewards of the property and such great caretakers of the residents. Once you cross the foot bridge over the beautiful stream, you can visit with all of the residents & you can scan the qr code posted along the way, you will learn the stories of the individuals who live at AH. There is a wonderful thrift store as well! So much gratitude that this beautiful labor of love sanctuary is in the area!
