The two guides we had were amazing and so informative and the kept us entertained the entire time. They actually made the experience fun for us. For 80 per person, you get to ride six different lines that range in height, distance, and speed. Before every ride, the guides give safety tips and the best way to enjoy the ride. For a first-time rider, I'm so glad I was in the hands of Canopy Ridge I felt safe and I was never unsure on every line. It also involves some hiking but only a few steps. We enjoyed being in Nature and the weather was perfect. If you are ever in the area of Canopy Ridge Farm is a must.

Our Captain (Michael) was awesome and SO SO SO good with our kids. Some kids were daredevils and others were super nervous and he had the best way with all the kids. He very easily got them comfortable and ensured everyone was having fun. But at the same time, he was really careful and safe - ensuring everyone was following proper rules and safety guidelines. Of our whole week at Lake Lure, kids said that hour of tubing was their favorite activity of the vacation. I'd book your reservations early to ensure you get time with Lake Lure Adventure Company - they're awesome.

There used to be a hydroelectric dam upstream that could control releases, but it was destroyed in Hurricane Helene. The future of the dam is uncertain. I appreciated the warm welcome we received when we arrived. We had booked online and signed all of our waivers before we got there. We reserved(rented) water shoes for several folks, as they did not have appropriate footwear. Check in, shoe selection, and safety briefing went quickly , and we were in our tubes in no time. The river was mainly calm stretches punctuated by intermittent small rapid areas. Nothing felt daunting or too dangerous. It had the right level of excitement for the kids to handle themselves. The take out was well marked. It was easy to get our tubes up to the van for the short ride back. We took the first time slot of the day, and were amazed by the crowded parking lot when we returned around noon. We look forward to returning.

Every single staff member we were in contact with was also courteous and helpful. The tubes are high quality, comfortable and easy to handle. The river was a bit low but water flowing at a nice rate. Never really got stuck due to low water just have to pick butt up a bit. Staff shared that the Army corps of Engineers had came through and cleaned up the river. Indeed they did. There was not debris noted. No trees in river. Very calming, quiet and safe river/ environment. Bus ride is safe and they put tube in bus and they take it out. Bathrooms and changing rooms are very clean and tidy. Absolutely a wonderful experience and river is safe and clean. The cost very reasonable $15 for the long tubing run

The river has changed a lot since Helene came through, but so many people have done a lot of hard work to make the area safe and usable again. That being said, the water levels are low in many places which leads to bottoming out on the sand, gravel, or rocks. Lift your bum in these areas and you'll have better luck coasting over them. Everyone had a blast. The tubes stayed inflated and safe. Lifejackets for everyone. Staff was friendly and welcoming. It rained off and on, but we were wet anyway, so it didn't matter. We had fun. I have had the opportunity to ride Luke several times and have discovered things about my own riding that my horse has been incredibly patient with me on! I've improved my seat substantially, learned what the correct feel and contact is, learned how to use my legs more effectively and the correct way to give a half-halt! I can't believe this but I've been riding for over twenty years and never knew how to do a correct half-halt! I am a firm believer that Luke can help any rider, from the brand-new to the experienced Grand Prix rider - the only problem is staying humble enough to learn! She's also going to be offering a jumping simulator sometime next year, so I'm really looking forward to that. I don't know how to jump but I feel a lot safer learning on a simulator. I can imagine that most parents feel the same way that I do about having their kids learn too. I HIGHLY recommend that all dressage riders take lessons on Luke - just because it's so amazing - Luke never lies, and we have the opportunity to get better and more consistent.

When I…read moresaw that Barbro Ask-Upmark had the latest riding simulator, an Event Simulator, I had to call and make an appointment for a lesson. As a teenager I had a horse and rode jumpers. Recently I started riding lessons again. I do have a fear of cantering on horses because of a bad riding accident that left me with a broken leg and dislocated shoulder. Originally, I was just going to take one lesson on the riding simulator. However, in one 30 minute lesson, I learned more than I have since I started lessons about a month ago! I was able to see what I'm not doing correctly with my reins, legs and arms. I'm also learning to have a balanced and centered seat. The "horse" has various sensors that provide instant feedback on the screen in front of you that shows you how you are riding with your seat, reins, legs. This horse is the latest and as an Event Simulator it is able to perform the various levels of dressage, cross country and show jumping. It is beyond amazing. The gaits are realistic. Since I am jus getting back into riding, I'm learning the basics again. As an instructor, Barbro Ask-Upmark is an advanced, passionate trainer who loves what she does and is amazing at teaching. I have never had a trainer who was this advanced or good. I ended up buying a series of lessons with her. After a few more lessons I'll ride a real horse with her. I always knew riding one of these simulators would be fun but I did not realize just how much I could learn. It is amazing to get instant feedback on a screen and have the trainer right next to you adjusting your hands, legs, seat, etc. I see now why riders, beginners to advanced, use them.
