When I was searching for a new home, due to COVID, I wanted to make sure the home had a separate space for a home office. Luckily, I was able to find the perfect home, now it just needed the desk to fill the space. I started out with all of the classic furniture stores and just didn't see anything that stood out. Cantoni was the last on my list as I was always under the assumption it was too expensive. Don't get me wrong, a lot of their stuff was outside of my budget. But I was able to find a very unique desk, BDI, CORRIDOR 6521 EXECUTIVE DESK - CHOCOLATE WALNUT. It wasn't cheap, but everyone that sees the desk gives me compliments. It was big enough for my dual monitors and plenty of space for all of my papers. And it was not wood! Too many of the options I found around town was repurposed wood. The delivery was quick and smooth. I would not buy everything here, but I think it's definitely worth a spot when you are furniture shopping in Houston. read more

Ok so I think there is a misunderstanding about the vibe of this store. I'm so glad I actually didn't read the reviews for once before I visited (bc I usually always read Yelp 1st). Customer service here is perfect and the kind I like. They don't bombard you the minute you walk in or follow you around or hound you to death about what you might want to buy and tell you why you need to "buy today". Since I researched beforehand what I wanted to see, had other stores I wanted to visit and this was my 1st visit, I walked straight to the central staff desk and asked for someone to guide me. They were more than happy to do that, made some suggestions on pieces I was eyeing and answered my initial questions. Then they let me roam. They checked on me once during my "roaming" which speaks to me "we know you're here; we are here if you want/need us but we are not going to bother you". Perfect Then we regrouped and discussed other my newly found likes. I was given print outs and swatches in a folder to take home to share with hubby and to think about/visualize in my space. I appreciated that totally. I was even given a super cute diamond embellished pen. I received a follow up email then courtesy call a few days later to ask if I had any other questions or needed anything. Again - appreciated bc I do tend to procrastinate. ‍ So I don't really think it's a matter of snobbery as it is of respecting your personal shopping space and style. If you want help and/or someone to follow you around, just ask. I think they assume most people don't want to be badgered or pressured or followed - I sure don't. In fact, that will actually drive me out of a store. I also appreciated being tutored in different leathers and construction options. Joan was very knowledgeable, obviously experienced and (even if it isn't true) seemed genuinely interested in helping me find the perfect piece for my needs and wants. She also told me to take my time and make sure I love what I buy. Again - TY! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is bc I specifically browsed the website and asked to see 3 pieces I found there. None of these were on the floor, so they couldn't be viewed. She did say something about brining down any piece I wanted to see but I'm not sure what that meant ‍(I'm a newbie at this store)...but I mean I did want to see the pieces I asked about... I did feel those 3 original interests were just brushed aside. Its a bit of a thorn to me when things are advertised online but then aren't available in store bc that sort of makes me feel I've wasted time online. I just want to consider things that are actually available or viewable. Plus I'm the type that has to see everything I'm interested in before I can make a confident, no regrets purchase. One absolute at this store though is that they have so many BEAUTIFUL well made modern pieces. I loved every single thing I saw in that store! read more

The furniture here is beautiful and my wife and I have outfitted our family room, dining room, bedroom, patio and office with furniture from Cantoni...we are happy with it. However, we did run into an issue with a particular piece and, after three months of us hounding them and three separate visits by their staff, we have come to terms with the fact that we will not get our issue resolved. They tell you that "we always take care of our customers" and I am here to tell you "DONT BELIEVE THE SALES HYPE". There are plenty of options for fine furniture throughout Houston. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that does stand behind their product. read more

Visited this store recently. As stated by another yelper the sales style here is to allow the customer to roam. Saghar greeted us, gave us the layout of the store, asked a few questions and let us roam. She checked on us multiple times threw our visit. Personally. I LOVE this type of shopping atmosphere. The layout is beautiful, the pieces are gorgeous. It can get very pricey, but they also have more budget friendly selections. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is we have not purchased anything at this time so I cannot speak to that part of the experience. If we do, I'll update. Great selection and beautiful showroom. It's super expensive in here. But if you're designing stuff for a high end condo or high-rise or even a house, it isn't so bad. It's beautiful furniture for sure. I was looking for some unique designs from Italy that I had seen when I went to a home show in NYC. They didn't have what I was looking for and the salesman said they could find it and order for me. I left them my business card and contact information. The only thing I wasn't really happy about was the salespeople. I wore some jeans and high heels. And they treated me like I couldn't afford their furniture until one of the salesman saw me hop into an Aston Martin (borrowed car) this afternoon. ZERO stars. We bought a desk, as advertised by designer Amy McFall. Please note, we are ALWAYS particular about not buying products made in China. To this point, we ALWAYS ask where items are made before purchasing. And we did the same here. We specifically asked Amy where it was made -- and she said either Italy or N. America. When I went to pick the item up, I blatantly see Made in China on the box. I thought maybe it's just the box. So I went inside a second time and asked the Designer (who, mind you, has received the "million dollar club" award several times) about it. She looks it up and confirms it's made in China. Really??? I told her I don't want the product and need a refund. With an attitude, she said they only do store credit since the price was a mark down. Of course, during purchase there was no mention of how refunds work or store policy. She even had the cheek of telling me that "you didn't ask where it was made." No need for attitude because you couldn't make your sale. No wonder designers here make it to the million dollar club for sales -- they are pushy & deceptive. First, they make you feel nice. Then they take you for a ride. Well, if you think I'm going to spend a whopping dollar amount here and NOT ask where something is made to put in my home -- you are clearly mistaken. I have visited Cantoni and several other contemporary furniture stores for the past several months looking for the perfect dining table that will suit the needs of our home. I have walked in wearing everything from a nice day dress, to jeans, and this last time I was wearing workout clothes and had just gotten out of the gym. I've read quite a few complaints about being mistreated based on attire, but that hasn't been my experience. I also don't think I've been the easiest customer to deal with because I know a dining table (at least a decent one) is something you intend to keep for at least a few years. I'm really picky and my husband even more so. Needless to say, I don't feel like I was ever shown anything but courtesy. Also to address pricing--while it may seem as if their prices are high, this isn't Roche Bobois (which only sells items made by Roche Bobois). Most of their brands can be found at other stores. Brands like Calligaris and Catellan Italia can be found at several contemporary furniture stores, and at the same price if not higher than what Cantoni sells the piece for. Additionally, Cantoni price matches any item you find cheaper online or in a store. So when you're paying for a piece at Cantoni, you're paying the market/going price for that item. What makes Cantoni stand out is that they also offer some pieces that are harder to find at other stores in Houston. This last time I went in I worked with Angela. She's wonderful, and even before going into the store I spoke with her several times over the phone. She was able to work with me (in my gym clothes), helped me get exactly what I want, and at a fair price. read more

We used to shop here for furniture here when they first opened and our solid stone dinning table is a reminder of their great design, unfortunately due to the salesman that was with us that day, we will never return. We went in recently to look for a cafe sized table to put in our lounge area and when we told the salesman there that we would like to look at cheaper options, he got visibly upset. This older Middle eastern salesman looked at us dead in the eyes and said that "we have chopsticks for the price range we asked" probably because we are asian. How dare he say that to customers let alone anyone! I've never seen someone try to take the racist approach when selling something and hopefully I wont have to experience it in the future either because an employee like that shouldnt be allowed to work there. I do not know where the salespeople get their ideas from but it seems the same throughout the staff, they are materialistic, judgemental, and arrogant. This is the reason Amazon and other online companies are putting these kinds of places out of business. read more

Oh, Cantoni. You are the epitome of snobbery. I hate salespeople who are too good to help the client. I mean, I really, really, really hate it. And I hold a grudge. As we walk into Cantoni, we see a gaggle of women standing around gossiping and the stop and stare at us as we walk in. Sure, we're in jeans and we're young, but it isn't like we have 3 heads or anything. Why the stop and stare? Oh, because you're trying to size us up to see if we're worth your time. Ahh, and the degradation begins. As we meander over to the couches on the right, we see the women begin to frantically speak to each other and finally one dejected woman comes over to "help us". It is obvious that she lost whatever argument was happening and got stuck trying to help. Fortunately for her, we didn't want her help and just wanted to look around. With somewhat of a "I'm not surprised" smug look on her face, she instructed us to go around the store in the the circle so we could see everything. On the upside, I'm actually surprised that they didn't follow us around the store to ensure that we weren't going to steal anything. Though, they may have been doing that via security cameras. Call me paranoid, but stores like this that make it clear that they neither need your business nor want your business infuriate me. As to the actual furniture, I was pleasantly surprised to see how great it was. The designs were modern, while still being livable. The quality was top notch with the price tags to match. They had plenty of desks that would look great in some CEO's office, but for us regular folks, it is a little much. The true highlights of the store were the armchairs (ranging from $2000-4000 each) and their wall decorations. I absolutely fell in love with a bunch of their arm chairs and they were so comfortable, I probably could've slept in one. Nevertheless, customer service is one of my main selling points, and I refuse to buy from them. Luckily, they have a fantastic website that I plan to use extensively. Awesome experience at Cantoni, Houston. Makes the whole process of setting up your new house very easy and knowledgeable Design Consultants with no selling pressure of any sort typically experienced at other stores. Our design consultant Saghar was very helpful and answered all our additional questions over Email (when not in-store). She was extremely knowledgeable and very patiently walked through all options and sometimes 'all over once again. On one occasion she offered me the option for return or exchange (unheard at other stores) over a carpet that really didn't fit in our living room without a sofa yet. Their delivery team was very polite and considerate of our home. The whole experience and personal shopping attention by Saghar have made us a Cantoni customer for life. It started out great and they have wonderful furniture. But beware of lies that the sales folks here tend to do. I won't be going back as lying is not something I take very lightly. They literally gave us the bedding from the store when we asked did a new piece and they confirmed it will be new. Then we went back to check after we had everything delivered and guess what the bedding was gone! Confronted the sales guy and he said he said it was new just put on the bed and then delivered! I was immediately welcomed and greeted by one of the designers ; She was very helpful and knowable . I learned that Cantoni is more than a furniture store, it is a fully designed studio that can help with any residential or commercial project. They also had the most beautiful Italian kitchens. I greatly appreciated the service from the salesperson Saghar Senemar at Cantoni's Houston, Texas, store. I ultimately purchased 8 soft-leather Catalan Italia Arcadia low-back chairs from Cantoni because of Saghar and Cantoni's reputation for quality. My quest for dining room chairs began almost a year and a half ago. When I saw the Arcadia chairs, I felt I wouldn't be happy with any other chair, having looked at numerous other local Houston stores and on-line as well. My research was exhaustive up to and including bringing other chairs home or having them delivered on an approval basis. Unfortunately, my decorating budget was reduced due to other expenses, which ultimately delayed my purchase. During the year and a half time period, Saghar reached out to me on multiple occasions to see if I had purchased any other chairs or if I was still interested in the Arcadia chairs. If Saghar was away from the office when I called, the staff would convey my message to her without fail. Although I visited the store dressed in everything from gym clothes to country club casual, it didn't matter. I was always treated with respect by every staff member. I somewhat agree with other individual's reviews regarding the cost and quality of the furniture at Cantoni. My additional comments may help the first-time shopper. Cantoni does sell high-end, high-quality and expensive furniture however, they also sell high-quality furniture for the more budget-driven customer. Saghar e-mailed me again during Cantoni's most recent anniversary sale, which was timely. I had found the same chairs elsewhere at a reduced price. She offered to see if she could match the price and did. Throughout this entire process Saghar was professional, knowledgable, kind and most certainly patient. She never gave up on the sale which is, in my opinion, the mark of an exceptional salesperson. My expierence was ummmm....ok. Don't get me wrong the furniture is beautiful. But the prices will make your jaw drop. When I shop for signature furniture pieces I don't mind paying a little more if I know that the quality is there but I really didn't feel like the furniture I saw warranted the pricing. The biggest reason I took away a star was because I didn't feel properly welcomed when I walked into the showroom. Two sales people walked right by me without acknowleding me. Customer service is huge to me. And the service here wasn't that great. I came in for a living room set and bedroom set but ended up only going with a better priced option that was the exact same quality. The store may look high class but the sales manager there is far from it. We came there for a Gamma sofa and asked for a price match. Instead said that he could not match and that was it, he took our match price email without our consent, called the competitor and ruined our whole transaction. We report to the store manager and basically nothing happened. If you want to buy there, check else where first, You will get better price and not get ruthless, unethical business sales people that will hound on you. read more

This was my first visit to this store. It is not an inexpensive place and as such I was expecting a decent service from the salespeople. When I arrived, I had to wait for the salesperson to stop talking on the phone to answer my question before going immediately back to talk on the phone. I was given a price for an item that was told was discontinued but was available in the store. When I went back the next day to buy it, I was told that they did not have it new and that the only available was the floor unit that has been on display. I believe that if I am paying the price that Cantoni charge for their merchandise, at least I should expect to get a new piece and not something that people have touched, and sat on. One of the worse experiences that I have had in high end stores I had purchased several thousand $ worth of furniture and they wrapped one of the items that was 300 and they put it in my car after I got home the pieces was broken, contacted the store the sales person was very rude the manager returned my call after 2 days and refused to take responsibility and claimed that both of them (the sales person and the manager oversaw the wrapping of the item while only saw a young man back there that put the item in my car !!!!) stay away from this place, there are so many other high end furniture stores in Houston that actually have class.... read more
