I'm honestly angry, confused, and pretty heartbroken after what happened at Banfield Pet Hospital…read morein Westwood. I brought my 11-week-old puppy in because he was limping on his back left leg. That was the main reason for the visit. I also mentioned his stomach as a secondary concern. I came in trying to be proactive and take care of him, and I left feeling like I made a mistake bringing him there at all. They took my puppy to the back and didn't allow me to be part of the exam. I didn't see him for a long time and had no idea what was happening. Meanwhile, I'm being pitched every test, medication, and a "wellness plan" over and over. It honestly felt like a sales pitch, not a medical visit. At one point she even said, "I hate to sound like a used car salesman." That's exactly what it felt like. I brought all of his records from a vet visit just a week ago. The person talking to me admitted they hadn't even looked at them yet. So how are you recommending treatments and tests if you haven't even reviewed his history? Then they tell me they're "worried about his stomach," which I only mentioned as a secondary issue. I asked again about his leg, the whole reason I came in, and they told me they checked it and didn't see any problems. After being pressured over and over, I declined everything except a fecal test. Then, as I'm literally on my way out, they stop me and suddenly say his leg doesn't look good. I asked what changed, and they told me they tested the wrong leg. The wrong leg. I brought him in for a limp. How do you examine the wrong leg and tell me he's fine? Did anyone even watch him walk? At this point, I still hadn't seen my puppy or spoken to the vet. So I asked to speak to her. When she came in, the first thing she said was, "Where is the little guy?" while looking around the room. That honestly shook me. How do you not know where my puppy is if you've been examining him for the last hour? Then I'm told he's in the back and people are taking turns cuddling him. Why are people cuddling my dog instead of focusing on his care? That didn't make me feel better, it made me more concerned. Then again, I'm being pushed to sign up for the wellness plan, and now I'm being told my puppy might need surgery. I still haven't seen him at this point. I somehow still ended up paying for an exam and medication. When they finally brought him to me and I got home and put him down, both of his back legs looked hurt. Both. He looked worse than when I brought him in. I have no idea what happened to my dog while he was in the back, and that's the worst part. And just to add to the frustration, my original 10:30am appointment was rescheduled that same morning to 2:30pm. I walked in worried about my puppy. I walked out more worried, with no clear answers, no trust in what actually happened, and feeling like his care was not the priority. If you love your animal, please think twice before going here.

From the initial call to the home visit, I couldn't recommend this service enough. They helped us through a hard time and it was perfect, even as we were scrambling to find someone the same day. Afterwards, the support and communication was also so kind. If you have to go through something similar, please consider this service as they did a wonderful job.

After watching my beloved Goldendoodle go from being a happy champ battling cancer for 10 months,…read morehe had a quick decline after the cancer spread. I called Lap of Love early in the morning on a Saturday, and they had an opening on Monday as well as an off-hours visit that evening due to a cancellation. As much as I wanted to put this off, I knew that I couldn't do that to my best fluffy guy and reserved that night's appointment. Dr. Kim (Smith) arrived just before 8pm, and after greeting my sweet boy she sat on the floor with him and explained the process, what he would feel (nothing after the needle itself) and asked if I had any more questions. My sweet boy left a while later with her - bundled up with one of his squeaky toys - and as I watched them drive away, I realized that in 14 years I had never seen him driving away from me. It was an awful feeling, but Dr. Kim's kindness made me feel better about making that phone call earlier in the day. She emailed me the following morning to see how I was doing, and reminded me that she and everyone at Lap of Love were there if I needed to speak with them.

Hi. We took our dog to Sea Legs Integrative Vet in West Roxbury due to a torn ACL, arthritis, etc…read more and it was a very poor experience. Our pet had gone through rehab years before at a different location for a torn ACL on the other side and ultimately had surgery, but at his advanced age we decided not to do the surgery with its long recovery for this side. Session 1. The setting up of the initial appointment was great and the vet Dr. Jaclyn Coble was very responsive, fit us in right away. The staff were also very friendly. We went to the first appointment and the vet was examining our dog's knees and then went to do the Soundwave ultrasound on the wrong knee and when I pointed out that she had the wrong knee she said she thought that it had felt fine on that side (the side he has a titanium TTA in). I wondered why she was willing to do the procedure on a healthy knee. She made some comment about reading through his records, but I had not sent her his records. She proceeded and did the soundwave therapy on the now correct knee, but needed guidance from her vet tech, vet nurse on how to get the machine to work. Her examination on the wrong knee was $295 &$350 for the soundwave ultrasound for total charge for session I of $645 Session 2. We returned a week later to do rehab. First they did warm laser therapy. Then, they had our dog do an obstacle course, stand on an uneven surface. Finally, they had him use the underwater treadmill. While he was on the treadmill, they attached the neck collar at the front of the machine to him (there is nowhere for him to go as the treadmill walls are 4 feet high), but they had the treadmill going so slow that our dog was riding it to the back of the treadmill before he would walk and it was stretching on the collar so I very quickly untied the collar so that he did not get choked. No Session 3. We returned for the second soundwave session and the vet tech/nurse took us into the room and shaved his knee and they were going to start the procedure and I asked why the doctor was not doing it this time, if she was going to see him and they said that they were more than capable. I was not questioning if they were capable, but I did wonder how she would know if he was any better without seeing him. They went to get her and suffice it to say that it went downhill from there and we did not have the second soundwave and we will not be returning. I love my dog and I am willing to do anything to help him have a good quality of life, but this vet did not instill confidence, lied about reading his records, did not know what knee was injured, did not know how to use the machine, let them tie his collar on a moving machine and was either willing to do a procedure on a healthy knee or worse did not realize it was a healthy knee. We had done rehab with the first torn ACL, laser, water treadmill, obstacle/uneven surface so this isn't that the experience is new to us, but I have never felt such a lack of faith in a provider.
