I can't believe it has taken me SO LONG to write this review. I have been seeing Dr. Marks for years, and consider myself so lucky to have found this amazing office. They have been wonderful with both of my dogs, especially my sweet girl that "decided" to become diabetic in the beginning days of the pandemic. As crazy as everything was then, we wanted for nothing in the care of her and will be grateful forever for the care we received.( She is doing GREAT, btw!) I cannot begin to explain how thankful we are for Dr. Marks, Steph, and the rest of the staff. Our dog had a sudden injury, unable to move her left rear leg and was in extreme pain. We were absolutely distraught and stopped by the office for an evaluation. We were greeted with opened arms, Callie was made comfortable and was very well taken care of. Dr. Marks was compassionate, conducted an excellent exam, and walked us through our options multiple times. It will be a long road ahead for Callie but we appreciate everything Dr. Marks and his team have done thus far for our Callie girl. read more

Let me start off by saying I normally don't do reviews...but this is needed as I have been lenient with this veterinary place for 4 years. Not anymore. Ashfield Cheyne Veterinary Services is one of the worst places I have ever seen and experienced animals being treated. Dr. Marks and his staff suffer on communication. It all began back in 2021 when I brought my new English bulldog puppy, Winnie, into their office to get her necessary puppy shots. They ended up forgetting to give her one of the most important shots of all...the rabies shot. Fast forward a couple more vet visits of me asking them for help with my EB as this breed is very skin and allergy sensitive...received no help and ended up having to rely on Google. Regardless of all the mishaps they have done with Winnie, my final straw was with my rescue dog Maisy. Maisy has been going to this vet for 6 years. Never once did they check her teeth at her annual visits. I also had to consecutively remind them to do nails and anal glands each time. I take Maisy in as I notice half of her face is swollen. We were told to get there ASAP, so we did. Ended up waiting for 3 hours to be seen by Dr. Marks. Maisy ended up having a severe tooth infection, so we were told to give her antibiotics and pain meds and not schedule any tooth removal surgery UNTIL the antibiotics run out. One of Dr. Marks employees recommended we get the surgery a couple days later. Once again, poor miscommunication as we were told to wait until she's off the antibiotics. Come the day of the surgery, we were told to drop Maisy off around 9:30 am as they would put her under anesthesia and remove the tooth as well as keeping her for a few hours afterwards for observation. The surgery never happened. Dr. Marks failed to tell us he did not feel the "need" to do the surgery, even though he RECOMMENDED it a month prior. My dog Maisy was kept alone in a dark cage for 8 hours with no water. This was beyond UNACCEPTABLE and borderline ANIMAL ABUSE. We are NEVER going back and will tell others to avoid. Please keep your pets safe and go somewhere else. read more

Fantastic staff. It was great to bring my dog into a vet who really cares about my pup. Can't say enough about the staff. They were so friendly to me and my dog. A very thorough job, pointing out an issue with some fatty tissue that I need to keep an eye on. Great catch!! read more

Amazing place!! Taking any animal to the vet is typically stressful for both owner & animal but there are some really extraordinary people here that made the difference. One of my cat's is difficult: he hates car rides, acts like a maniac some times, & unfortunately is also diabetic. The people here were really wonderful to us, they made his misfortune into a motivating experience. The staff were warm, knowledgeable, and courteous. They were in the downtown area of Norwood. Their facility is extremely clean, pet friendly (lots of doors) & modern. I am new to the area but feel lucky and glad this was our first stop. If your pet has to go to the vet's this is the place you want to be!! *Even though my cat pitched a fit I'm sure he's grateful too for Ashfield's. Thank you guys again so much! read more

I met Dr. Marks and his team while working a table for my wife's business at Norwood day. I also read about Ashfield Cheyne Veterinary Services in the local papers. I believe in supporting local business, so I decided to switch vets and give Ashfield Cheyne Veterinary Services a try with my Bichon Frise Billy. First, the staff at Ashfield Cheyne Veterinary Services are extremely courteous and provide a great customer experience from when you walk in the door until you leave. Dr. Marks is great! To put it frankly, there is no 'B.S.' with him and he is upfront and honest with you. From everything to your dogs condition to his services. His goal is to just provide a great veterinary service that you feel is worth every penny and it shows! His attention to detail and care for my dog was great! He takes the time to answer any questions and is genuinely interested in you, your dog and what you have to say. His services are not simply in and out. Other veterinary services will take your dog to another room and perform the shots, which frankly bothers me. Not only does the dog stay in the room, Dr. Marks gave him the shots and drew his blood! Again, the little things matter. If you live in Norwood or surrounding areas, Ashfield Cheyne Veterinary Services is bare none the best around. I cannot even begin to explain how much I love and appreciate Ashfield Cheyne. Today was our first appointment and I could not be more pleased. We did have a little bit of wait but it was due to an emergency and I completely understand; pets are like our children and we want the best possible care. I have a very anxious black lab mix. He is 9 and a giant baby. He wouldn't get on the scale and it took some coaxing but the vet tech took great care of him. The exam rooms are big and very clean. Once we were in the room, I barely had to wait. My pup was pacing and obviously very anxious (he peed a few times). The team was SO great about it. They gave him kisses, treats, and hugs. The exam was so successful and thorough. Dr. Aubert answered all of my questions thoroughly and gave me some suggestions. Ashfield Cheyne went above and beyond my expectations. The prices are unbeatable and they genuinely care about you and your pets. I would absolutely recommend to friends/families/colleagues and neighbors. I cannot thank them enough. read more

Today I went to Ashfield with for an annual checkup and shots with my two rescue dogs, Jake, a beagle, and Milo, a VERY fearful black lab mix. Dr. Marks was hugely helpful. He had clearly dealt with dogs with serious fear issues in the past, and he knew how to go about performing an exam on and drawing blood from such a dog. He instructed me and the two vet techs in the room on exactly what we needed to do to make the experience as easy as possible for my dog. In the end, my fearful dog's experience wasn't as terrifying for him as I was expecting it to be, ha, and we left with lots of good advice. I found Dr. Marks when my cat had a sudden, acute sickness shortly after moving to the area and I desperately needed a to find a new vet - quickly. I didn't like some of the reviews I read for other local offices, and though his practice had just opened, I saw that he had many loyal fans on Facebook who were excited to welcome him back into their pets' lives. Now I know why. He obviously cares deeply about animals and makes sure they are really getting the care they need. We've been fit in for last-minute appointments both times we've been there so far, so we've had to wait a while to see him. But even if that's routine, it's very obvious that it's because he gives so much personalized attention to each patient. I got both my dog and cat from a shelter when they were babies. The shelter referred us to a vet in Medfield. I did like them except they were always moving vets to other areas and we hardly saw the same doctor twice. I changed to Norfolk County vet. Loved the staff there but again hardly saw the same doctor. My brother had always seen Dr Marks in Norfolk until he left that practice. My brother would talk about Dr Marks and how much care he gave to his patients. When he heard Dr Marks was coming back to the area he kept the insisting I change vets. I decided to give them a try. Before I could even schedule an appointment my dog seriously injured his leg. I called the office not knowing the office was closed and Dr Marks answered the phone. He listened while I told him what happened. He did give me the number for other practices that were open all night. But he also told me how I could take care and do some home care until Monday when he squeezed us in. My dog had damaged his meniscus. Dr Marks carefully gave my dog a physical and spoke about our options for this problem. I opted not to jump into surgery, but do the care as the doctor explained. Pain and anti inflammatory meds, rest a lot but also don't let the dog use any stairs. He needed to be carried if he had to go out. Slowly take him for short walks. We did everything that was told to us and many years later my baby has never needed surgery on that leg. When Dr Marks brought in another vet to the practice I was afraid the quality of care would be different but I was wrong. My cat had some major problems with blockages and was taken care of right away. Recently Dr Dale came to the practice. She treated my baby for pancreatitis twice. Gave him and me a lot of time and great care. From October to December my baby's health deteriorated. We were sent to Tufts for an ultrasound and found he had inflammatory bowel disease and possible lymphoma. I had a lot of problems at Tufts. Dr Dale and the staff went over and beyond to help with the situation at Tufts. From after hour conversations, the staff repeatedly took my calls and did all they could to help. Sadly my baby took a turn for the worse. I felt that he had given all he could. The staff got us right in after calling and letting them know what was occurring. I made one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. We both were treated with kindness and respect. Both Dr Marks and Dr Dale have been very comforting in this dark time. The staff as always is the best there is! We will continue to take my dog there and if sometime in the future a new furbaby comes into my life they will also be going to Ashfield Chenye Vets! read more

Dr. Marks is extremely charming and loves my dog and my dog LOVES him!!! I love the new place he is in and it is very clean and cozy. I used him when he was in Walpole many years ago and missed him greatly when he left. Now that he is back in the area we are SOOOOO Happy!!!!! My most recent visit my dog had ingested something and was vomiting profusely!! Dr Marks took him right in and treated him. The office is so nice and clean and has a small town/ homey kind of feel. Dr.Marks is very approachable and down to earth and was so good to my baby :) I didn't feel pressured to buy anything or that there were any tests done that weren't needed. That's what I was afraid of when I got my pup and had to find a vet I hate when they make you feel like a bad person because you can't afford to spend a couple hundred dollars every time you go in. I didn't get that vibe at all from Ashfield-Cheyne. Sara and the other woman at the front desk are really nice too. The only thing I'd recommend is that they say what each thing is going to cost before they do it. I went in there fully expecting to pay what I did but I know in the past with my old dog and old vet that was an issue that would drive me crazy. They would say oh we're doing this and that and that will be $500 please thinking that people can just afford that. So I'm hoping this won't happen at this place. read more

I recommend Dr. Marks to everyone I know with pets. His office is impeccably clean, the staff is wonderful and the customer service they provide is excellent. I drive my two cats from Marshfield Ma to Norwood because of the service and because Dr. Marks is extremely passionate about his job and does not recommend unnecessary tests. I previously had a cat for 16 years and took her to a vet in Scituate. There were so many useless shots and tests completed over the years which I believe were not necessary. I only wish I had taken my former pet to Dr. Marks, it would have been well worth the trip. As other yelp reviews have stated, you know you are only paying for necessary treatment with Dr. Marks. This I have found is not the norm for most veterinarians. You also know right away, Dr. Marks and his office really care about the health and well being of each animal that walks or is carried through their door and that Dr. Marks is not in the business of taking advantage of their owners. I first spoke with Dr. Marks over the phone as I needed help with an emergency situation with my cat. He was extremely helpful over the phone and agreed to see me that day despite his busy schedule. I have to echo other comments, that he is an outstanding vet and in addition to taking the time to carefully explain what needed to be done I found his prices to be quite reasonable.
