The description used in a previous review is a 'hole in the wall' which is quite apt. You'll notice it walking by cos there's a guy playing a guitar out front. The food was really good and there's a nice variety on the menu, whatever your tastes.

Wonderful homemade food! You gotta try the passion fruit mousse and Dona Maria Cake after your choice of meal... It's scrumptious!

Sala de Corte - T bone steak with shrimp addition

I liked it so much I went back for lunch. Easily the best steaks in Portugal. Also delicious foie,…read morecarpaccio, wagyu with caviar on top. Try the stinton sauce and get the chateaubriand. In my opinion, its better than the chuleton. Get the mashed potatoes. They're also delicious and so are the roasted tomatoes that come with the steak. Finish with the chocolate dessert. It is amazing.

Great meat ruined by arrogant service…read more We dined at Sala de Corte last night with high expectations, but the shockingly poor service completely ruined the evening. The Good: The meat itself was fantastic quality and cooked perfectly. The Bad: Order mix-ups: The staff delivered the wrong steaks to each of us. Because the waiter didn't speak English, there was no explanation of the cuts, leaving us to figure out whose plate was whose. Arrogant sommelier: When we asked for a wine recommendation, the sommelier suggested a bottle for nearly €200. When we asked for something in the €70-€80 range, he condescended to us, asking if it was "our first time at a restaurant"--despite their menu having options as low as €30 . Disappointing management & service charge: I raised our frustration with the manager, who took over for the rest of the meal and brought the bill. He had automatically added a 10% tip, brushing it off as just a "suggestion." When I voiced my surprise at this level of service and the automatic tip addition, he looked down on us and simply ignored the feedback. Lisbon has far too many world-class dining options with top-tier hospitality to justify paying premium prices just to be looked down on by the staff. Save your money and go elsewhere.

No joke, the best meal we had in Lisbon!…read more A Nossa Casa was recommended to us by a local when we were at her jewelry store, and she did not lead us astray. When we walked in, the restaurant felt so warm and cozy, like we had just entered someone's home (fitting for the restaurant name). It must have been our lucky day, as they have one table they set aside for walk-ins by the front door, and it was free and ours! The table was different than the rest of the tables in the place. Imagine a living room set-up - the table was lower like a coffee table and the chairs were comfy arm chairs, and we sat next to the window filled with hanging plants and greenery. I would definitely recommend making a reservation, though - we watched countless people be turned away at the locked door since they were fully booked up. But we didn't feel rushed at all - the host/owner spent the time with us to go over the entire menu and his wine recommendations - I landed on a bottle of vinho verde that was bright and crisp. He and his Brazilian chef wife created a menu that is a fusion of their two cultures, and the food is outstanding. We had a razor clams dish that was so good, it was my first time having razor clams and I'm a huge fan of them now. I cannot wait to go back if I'm ever in Portugal again!

The dishes were cooked deliciously and the sides complemented well. The meat cuts were the perfect amount of fat and lean meats. It was juicy and cooked to perfection! Would recommend the filet mignon and the pincanha steak. Our sides were mashed potatoes and vegetables, I recommend the mashed potatoes! The complimentary appetizer was a nice start to the meal as well. Skip the bread basket since they charge $$ pp. For a Friday night though the place was empty and there weren't many local individuals only tourists visiting. One thing to add is this place is definitely pricey, but do think it's an average spot to eat at. Docking a star since I wasn't blown away by the taste of my meal but think it was an average steak restaurant to go to. Note: The restaurant is considered a RESY restaurant however they do not accept AMEX cards (which is common in Portugal). Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Taste: 4/5
