Wow!!! Pleasantly surprised, this was actually a great place to eat. I had the 3 street tacos, service was good. I would come again.

My last review was in 2019, we are still regulars and love Cantina Azteca but the happy hour tacos are now $3.00 - still delicious and a bargain! And Jasmine is the best server in Sacramento, even when I arrive tired and out of sorts I leave with a smile on my face. read more

What can I say but, yumm! As a vegetarian, this places is by far our favorite Mexican food restaurant and it just happens to be in our neighborhood! Was in my hometown on an end of summer vacation and was craving Mexican. After scanning yelp and asking some local friends I found the Azteca family in which we decided to have a party of seven grab dinner. Note to self reservations are accepted and on a smarter day I would have planned ahead but we were jonesing for Mexican so we set off. The smaller venue is up the street and has more or a bar feel. The larger restaurant is up on Marconi is themed with a nice size bar as well. We got seated and a live mariachi started and played throughout dinner. We ordered some recommended items and found everything to be fresh, flavorful and delicious. Add a serve your own chips and salsa bar and delicious margaritas and we found a place we will return to every visit to Sacramento. Well done Azteca ! read more

The Cantina is on the corner of Palm and Fair Oaks Blvd in Carmichael. Easy to find and plenty of parking! We came in for Taco Tuesday and left with a big smile and a full belly! The owners are so kind and welcoming. The bartender Mario will make your night with his passion for making great cocktails!! All the food we tried was delicious. Cocktails - get the blackberry mojito! OMG. Fresh muddled blackberries in a tasty drink, presented beautifully. A feast for the senses in every respect. The margaritas are also fresh and home made. YUM. They have a chips/salsa bar so you can grab a basket and get as many chips as you like! And, prepare your own salsa - choose from 8 different types!! The pork tacos were AMAZING!!!! I stopped buy while I was out running some errands for work. I had never tried this place before, so i was just curious as to what everything would taste like. Upon arrival, there was really no line and the place was very warm and inviting. I sat at the bar and the people who ran it we're extremely friendly. I ordered the mixed fajita with corn tortillas. It also came with refried beans. Everything was super fresh here and there were more then generous portions. It also comes with chips and salsa, the chips and salsa were definitely the most fresh chips and salsa that I've had from a Mexican Resturant in a long time. I was glad I finally tried this place and I will be back for a second helping. This is my new favorite little Mexican Resturant! read more

Came here for brunch with some friends around 1:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. It was a bit slow but I loved it. Not too much going on. The server was very kind and put in the order quickly. We were given chips and salsa as we waited. Very delicious. I personally ordered the steak fajitas and they were delicious! The bell peppers and onions were very fresh and cooked to perfection and I got a heaping amount of them! The steak was excellent! My daughter got a children's chicken taco and it was very tasty. Cantina Azteca is a fabulous family owned business in Carmichael and their food and service speak volumes of how amazing the ownership is. Food/drinks are high quality and authentic while still being served to you quickly, and it's affordable! The employees are all very kind and welcoming, they take great care of their customers. This place was a mystery as I've never heard it mention in conversation when we talk about good Mexican food in our area. So I didn't know what to expect. And to my surprise, I've finally found a spot that had a good chimichanga! Most places I've tried, their chimichanga would taste dry. But not this spot! Their green sauce is probably what did it. We had been to their sister business, Rey Azteca and noticed they had a good online catering menu. We needed a Baby shower catered, so we tried this restaurant for lunch first. The food was well prepared, and delicious, our minds were set on their yummy food! Our lunch service was personal, and good. Turns out our dining professional Lourdes is also the catering coordinator. She was so helpful in taking our catering order, it was a breeze considering our event was 2 1/2 weeks away (we feared we hadn't provided enough time). On the day of catering pick-up, everybody was so pleasant, the loading assistance allowed and helped to make sure I had everything before heading to the event. Food is soooo good. Rice and bean are delicious, get the guacamole and chip appetizer, tacos are bomb, we have tried so many dishes and all of them are excellent. My only complaint is a soda is 3.99. That's ridiculous. So if you have kids that adds up! Service is always great too. read more
