They are wonderful! They do anything they can to make their guests feel like they belong. If you are looking for great repartee or to enjoy a quiet evening alone, either way, they will happily oblige. Then there is the food! Everything is made from scratch...including the yogurt! Finally, there is the house itself. Enjoy mechanical music? Boy have they got it! There are at least four grand reproducing pianos, a pianola, a full player organ, numerous rare music boxes, and victrolas and radios of every sort. Then there is the collection of rare clocks...to many to count. During the summer, you will probably receive a tour of the spectacular antique car collection which includes two Franklin Automobiles and an American LaFrance roadster, to name a few. By the way, each suite is clean and well appointed and boasts a unique theme! Go, enjoy, have fun!!!

She took the time to provide us with a tour of one of the most complete and original victorian homes built during the age of the lumber barron. What alterations where made to make it a B&B with a private bath for each room was done thoughtfully so no awckward showers in what used to be coat closets or anything. the rooms are eleganly decorated and furnished with out to much stuff that often gets cramed into every corner of most B&Bs. Great refreshments in the evening even better breakfast in the morning and plenty of local information and recomendations. As a traveler who tries to support small business I often feel like I am making a contrubution because not all of the places I have stayed really provide a complete and easy stay. This time the bargain was all mine.

The later 2 were relocated here and situated by the Wright Association. The former 2 were designed for the specific site. Currently a Frank Lloyd Wright, Jr (Lloyd Wright) is being added to Polymath Park. Bear in mind that the whole Park is 130 acres and to tour the houses is by van. When you're at one house, you can't see the other houses. A restaurant is on site by the visitor center. If you are going to Fallingwater, it is worth the time to add Polymath Park to your itinerary.

We stayed in the FLW Mantyla house for one night and it was unfortunately a HOT weekend so it was about 85 degrees in the house and we had some issues with the lights not turning off at night in one of the bedrooms. Of course FLW houses don't have built-in A/C and often have "unique" aspects so none of this is entirely unexpected but just be aware in the summer. In the morning though, we saw a beautiful deer and her fawn outside the patio which is not uncommon at most FLW houses we've stayed at but still amazing to see through the huge windows of a Usonian house. I would never stay more than one night at the houses given that you need to be out while they're doing tours during the day but it's worth a one night stay if you're visiting Falling Water and definitely dine at the Tree Tops restaurant. I'd say 3.5 stars overall and I would consider staying again just to eat at the restaurant and not have to drive far afterward. :)

These are close to public transportation and some shops, restaurants, etc. A long walk to the Universities but a shorter walk to the Hillman Cancer Center and Shadyside hospital. I could see this being a pleasant place to stay for a person working nearby. Would be more economical as compared with hotels for short stays.

Rooms come as either singles or 1 bedrooms. I chose a basement suite and it turned out to be much more than I could have expected. A large comfy bed, flat screen HDTV with Premium sports and movie channels, a kitchen with all the amenities from Oven to Spatula, a full bathroom, and a small dining /work table. The suites are housed in a turn of the century victorian house converted into apartments and conveniently located off bus lines to Downtown. The best thing is supermarkets and bars are nearby, all which Robert gives you maps and descriptions of. Got Laundry? no problem, the suites have their own laundry room and each room has an ironing board, laundry basket, and iron. It's home away from home.

I don't want to review this place because other's may book it LOL what a throw back to the good old…read moredays! Spent a solo weekend in this majestic reclaimed and rebuilt1700/1800s log cabin. You can smell the history! From the immense front porch with rockers and a swing to the claw tub to the mini farm with sheep and chickens one was surrounded with silence and thought - if these walls could talk!- Every nook and cranny filled with early 20th century furnishings and books! There is a fireplace for cool nights and one very small hidden tv which was turned on once in 3 days and that was to watch Little House on the Prairie! Breakfast each day? Delectable!
