Scum Scam company. Claimed they could provide me good internet at a fair price. Got set up and was pulling less then dial up. Previously had rogers who they share lines with and had zero issues, so I know it wasn't a issue with my lines or anything. Phoned and spent hours on the line with tech support. They blamed rogers, the weather, the day of the week, the color of my socks you name it. Then they had the audacity to tell me its because my Ethernet cable going directly from there modem into my computer was longer then 3 feet and that was causing the signal to decay. I have a degree in computer sciences and can tell you why that's untrue. So can google. When i phoned support , they demanded i install any desk and let them into my computer unsupervised. Same process as the Tech support scammers, no thank you. After months of me troubleshooting my own internet cause they were to inept to I cancelled my service. I sent the modem back the day after i requested cancellation and returned all my equipment. The day after I had sent it out they charged me hundreds of dollars for "Equipment fee's". I called them the moment I saw this and was assured I would get a check in the mail the moment they received my equipment as they didn't have the ability to refund my card directly. Odd first legit business I have ever heard of that can process payments through a credit card but cant reverse said transaction or refund directly. So I wait. 3 months goes by and a check shows up in the mail. I'm a bit frustrated but figure all is well that ends well. Turns out the check has been backdated by over a year, and no bank will cash it. I have been mailed a expired check... I call in and I'm told that their accounting department has to fix this and ill get an email as they are to important to take phone calls. I wait and wait, a month goes by no email. I call in a 2nd time same song and dance. This process continues for 1.5 years, I keep calling and getting people that cant comprehend basic English and the run around. To be clear this isn't discrimination, I don't care who they are, what culture they are or what they believe, its an issue of not being able to preform the job. Exact same as me applying for a job where I'm doing customer service for a language I don't speak or understand, I wouldn't have the skill set to preform it due to a skill issue, not anything else. Feel free to read other reviews for confirmation of this, and confirmation of lack of bias or discrimination. I finally get an email from someone in their "accounting department", apologizing that I HAVE caused them an inconvenience (after they have committed fraud and theft), telling me that I have Alzheimer's ( which i can assure you I don't, and my doctor can confirm I'm much to young to have) and have used my time machine to cash the check before I even had started service with them. I emailed in multiple times telling them no this isn't the case, even sent them a photo of there expired check they sent me as I hung onto it. Nope they claim I am a time traveler able cash checks before they are issued. 3 Years later I haven't seen a cent of the money they stole from me. Apparently I traveled back in time cashed my expired check spent the money, time traveled back to the present and wiped my memory of ever doing so and caused myself to catch Alzheimer's 30 years earlier then most. Or they scammed me. Ill let you pick which is more likely. For the record I do not own a Delorean, nor am I friends with Christopher Loyd. They have finally replaced my modem after a year of consistent disconnection. The modem completely failed. Everytime I had to call them, we would repeat the same trouble shooting steps (restart the modem, unplug all the cables, insert a pin in the reset hole, check powersupply voltage/amperage, etc). It is such a pain, probably did this process 5 times since they would end the call. They should have a common ticket where a support specialist can see that this has already been attempted but has not fixed the issue. They shipped the replacement for free and I do not need to return the broken modem within 4 days of the outage. Now, the issue has been fixed and the internet is 100% operational since the issue persist on December 2021. Upgrading it to two stars. read more

The last few months, my connection speed was good then last week the throttling and freezing started again. I emailed cannet and they phoned me a week later. I have numerous times requested they not phone me because of my hearing impairment and to please email or text me but they ignore my pleas and phone me anyway. Like everyone else, I'm trying to stay home and stay occupied but when my lousy CANNET internet isn't working, its hard to do anything online. Their prices are cheaper for a reason. Its because the connection is slow and unreliable and the customer service is nonexistent. There's definitely something wrong when I'm paying for 75 mbps and im only getting less than 10 mbps. I was 100% happy with our service until our internet went down. Since then it has been a nightmare trying to answer one simple question. Why could they not tell us it will take three days to fix remotely and THEN their tech department could help us? We have committed eight hours of driving back and forth to resolve this from our end. The technician? Abrupt, rude and not interested in resolving the issue. He refused to give us his supervisor's name. Finally talk to the supervisor? Another pointless exercise. I went to Cannet to get internet set up in my apartment before school started but they canceled the installation due to "missing information". I was told to call them to get it sorted however after calling twice and waiting on hold, the call was dropped both times. This has been so far the WORST service provider of all time. We moved to our new house, so we asked them to move our service. They charged us for the technician $68.25 then latter they said we don't need one for the new house, still they made some excuse not to refund the money. When we moved to the new house all we had to do was to plug the modem according to them and it should work. Well it didn't... I kept on calling them to send technician to our house, all they said was us to troubleshoot it, go in the basement try multiple plugs which we had no idea about. CanNet Telecom. Saw the deal with this company and figured I would give it a try. I did a chat with the company asking all kinds of questions and decided to give them a try. To make sure I could get their service they asked for my postal code, it took a few minutes and they came back and said service was available to me. So, I signed up. Installation was for the Friday between noon and 4:00 PM. Paid the first fee that was needed to go ahead with the order. Yesterday I get a call from somebody I guess trying to confirm my information and postal code, I could not understand a word this guy was saying, so I said I would call them and see what was going on. Before I could dial the number, another person called again I did not know what he was saying, so again I said I would call them. I called, this time I got somebody I could at least somewhat understand so I clarified my address and postal code. Sating installation was set for Friday. Today I get an email saying my order was rejected and to call them asap. Called and once again got somebody I could hardly understand, I told him I wanted to talk to somebody higher up and they just transferred me to someone else that at least spoke better English. Now they say the ISP turned it down for some reason because of the address and postal code. I have fiber optic cable to the house with cable internet now, so I know that was not the problem. Once again said I wanted to talk to someone higher up. I received a call from a manager saying that it was the fault of the ISP did not have rights to use this area only the main supplier. He kept blaming it on the ISP and the government for not letting the come into my area. I told him it was their fault as they are the ones who said I could get it when they checked my postal code and told him that they should warn people that even though they say it is good let them know it may not be approved by the ISP. So be careful when dealing with this company. Also, he said that their call center is in India and I told him that they need to get a better call center with better English speaking service reps. This is my Cannettel Review. Yeah just like everyone said, it's terrible. In my opinion they are fraudulent! Stay away from them. What they say and advertise are all lies! Their internet speed is the worst at peak hours! They are not open 24 hours. Their support is NOT 24 hours! I ordered 75 mbps for $29.95/month but always having trouble with their connection. YouTube will always give a message "no internet connection". So I tested my speed, I am only getting 1.25 mbps, sometimes I get 24.2 mbps, that's not even 1/2 of 75 mbps. So I called them, since I am not available during the day as I am at work, they said they will call me at night on a certain day, but they never did. So I called them again, they said the same thing will call me at night on a certain date, but never did, they just wasted my time. So I am going to cancel! read more

September 4, 2019 supposed to get internet installed at my place. Cannet cancel technochian and asked me to plug their modem. No problem. Though my previous ISP had DSL, this is coaxial. Not a problem found coaxial. After 2 hours troubleshooting their modem we came to conclusion that main provider Shaw did not activate internet for the location. Cannet said technichian to come in in withing 3 days. 3 days passed no one came. No internet since I switch to Cannet. I paid them non refundable $70 for activation and the first month. I filled out their complaint form yesterday and nothing. They well aware my internet is not working. read more

The ultimately bad choice of internet ISP. Customer service is as bad as it can get. Poor technical service - works now and then but whenever there are any connectivity issues on their side, they don't publish any messages in this regard on their website, at least to give customers the idea, and at the same time it's not feasible to contact neither their tech support, not customer support for the information.
