The owner then called and interrogated my husband about his experience instead of trying to reconcile it. Was overall a very uncomfortable experience that we were so disappointed by. We traveled 3 hours for this and 100% will not do again. We will still be returning to Morro Bay though just sans Spa By The Bay.

Herbal tea on arrival, one hour gentle massage from Don, a foot soak and a light lunch, manicure (his very first), pedicure (his feet never looked better) and facial from Melissa, Dad practically floated home. He loved every minute, was still floating 2 days later. As he wrote us: "It's luxurious, yes, but also therapeutic, a body healing. Medicare should include it." And I suspect he will be back. Heather was helpful in taking info to verify my claim for them to bill but then she never called me back (it's been a couple weeks now) so I gave up and went to Dr. Becker who I am very happy with. I have been to many chiropractors, I imagine the doctor himself could be very talented but these over-staffed types of offices tend to run a lot of patients through. If you have insurance paying then you probably don't care about the cost. If you are out-of-pocket like me then you might want to find a smaller office that can give more individual attention. Again, the doc might be great but with the lack of callback, I wasn't happy with the customer service. Another employee there got snippy with me when I simply tried to leave my insurance person a voicemail about the billing, I called from inside the office when there were no other patients there and was ordered out of the office. I was not speaking any louder than their staff when they are on the phone.

Shawn came highly recommended and I initially went to him knowing I had much to gain if he could help and only a few dollars to loose if he couldn't. Working with Shawn has been an extremely positive experience both physically and spiritually. I've recovered flexibility I've not seen since college, my core is stronger, I no longer have ANY back pain, I feel healthier and I'm back to running pain free.  Just being pain free has made my visits well worthwhile.   The improvements in my running are icing on the cake. Sessions with Shawn are great.  Initially he focused on relieving my back issues and now he focuses on getting me more efficient in my running while maintaining a healthy and sound body.  Throughout it all Shawn has given me exercises to do at home and has, in a sense, become my coach and also my friend.
