I'm so glad I did! They do day visits which has allowed me to be away from the house for more than 3 hours at a stretch. Sight seeing here I come! I have had them come twice to take my dog out to potty and give him some attention. Both times I have received pictures and a cute report. When I got home he was contentedly sleeping in his bed. At one vet visit I mentioned to the vet tech that we would be boarding our dog later in the year, so needed the appropriate vaccines. She started to advise against boarding an old, blind dog until I told her we were going to Trails End. Her attitude suddenly changed and she said, "Oh, if your using Trails End that's great. They do a wonderful job and it is more like they are in a home." My son is coming to visit in July and I am so happy to be able to take my son to D.C. sightseeing and know that my sweet little dog will be given loving care while we are gone.

I originally called and wanted to walk the facility to see what the kennel looked like to ensure I was comfortable with boarding my pups there. The facility appeared to be clean and up kept. We were not allowed to see the inside of the facilities but the staff were accommodating in sending us pictures so we could see. During my pups stay, we did not receive any phone calls or updates so we assumed they were happy and healthy. I would say that would be the only thing if we would receive updates via text or email that would have made me feel more assured but overall we were really happy with the process. Our dogs returned to us happy and didn't seem stressed whatsoever. We would definitely bring them back again. Thank you!!!

In August, they had a year-long package come available, which made sending my dog every day approximately the equivalent price of a 30 minute walk, but for 4-5 hours of play time. Having a cattle dog, this is great for her to get her energy out, and has led to her being much better behaved at home. I haven't been out to the ranch yet but from their instagram, it looks amazing. I love seeing pictures of her on the instagram. Hands down the best part? They do drop off and pick up in DC! She was very kind and explained a mix up regarding emails with the owner. No big deal; these things happen. I appreciated her apology. She did inform me that they do not train in the kind of scent work I am looking for, and she sadly doesn't know anyone near my location who does. My only suggestion would be for the owner, since they are the ones who receive the emails. It might be best to respond to the customer in an email and state something to the effect of, "Colonial K9 has received your request and we will be forwarding your message to the respective trainer. Please let us know if a trainer has not gotten in contact with you in the next 48/72 hours." This way the customer knows their email has been seen and read. Otherwise, the customer feels their request wasn't taken seriously. Additionally, a reminder message or task could be created within the Microsoft 360 platform and be sent to the trainers. Just some ideas to help the customers and trainer so a customer isn't lost due to mistakes. Thank you again for the apology. It is appreciated. I have been looking for a solid trainer since moving here. It has not been easy finding a reputable trainer. During the phone call, I was told to send an email because emails go straight to the owner. The owner will review the email and either respond personally, or the owner will send the email to the respective trainer. I thanked the person who I spoke with and promptly sent an email detailing my dog training needs. By 15MAY2024, I still hadn't received a response from Colonial K9. As a result, I sent another email and stated; "I am following up from my attached email as I have not received a response. If you are unable to help us, it's understandable. I would appreciate it if you could give us a referral on a trainer who can help." As of today, 24MAY2024, I have yet to receive a response. I am not sure where the disconnect is. All I want to do is find a solid trainer to continue with scent work training. I guess Colonial K9 isn't interested in assisting. Copy that!

They are knowledgeable about pets. They are professional and thorough in communicating with us. We couldn't hope for better service providers. And we will use them in the future. The set up is easy. You call, schedule a meetup (for the dog walker & the pups), talk about needs and expectations. We provided access. And the contract was easy to understand. Our dog walker, Doris, even tried brushing out our heavily shedding chow mix who does not like being brushed. She found with a little food and sweet coaxing that our pup would tolerate a little brushing.

The staff was friendly and the price was right. They also offer exit baths and grooming for an extra charge. If you blink you will miss the turn. They are set back a bit but they have added signs to direct you to the location. We are very pleased and will definitely use them again. The only problem we had was that they only accept cash or check. We didn't know that beforehand so I had to run back out another 20 minutes to find an ATM. I didn't even think to ask that ahead of time because in this day in age you would think that everybody would accept a card. Knowing that next time we will bring cash! FYI if you pay with check it's more expensive so bring your cash.

The rates have not changed except you now have to pay for play time and bathroom breaks. which frankly is a little inhumane. if you purchased five or 10 packs for daycare there now charging you an additional dollar for pet care which really doesn't make any sense. It should be a standard fee included in the cost. I think I'm gonna take my $2000 to $4000 a year out of Countryside and move it to Indian Bridge.
