Not only did we have fun during those lessons, they also amounted to my dog finally listening to me when I call him, being solid on his other basic commands and just a pleasant family member. I left messages on voicemail and FB and did not receive anything back for days. I chose the 2 week board and train. Andy was training my Doberman "Chopper". I was told before hand that I would frequently be updated with photos and videos of training. I had to contact Andy multiple times to receive any information at all on how chopper was doing. After he updated me the first time it had been 3 days and he still had not engaged chopper in any training at all. Upon pickup Andy was very unprofessional while my sister was around making an off color comment about the tightness of the collar. He said "You want the collar to be tight enough where you can only fit 2 fingers in there. Thats my motto with everything in life." Andy also told me and my sister he did not get to work Chopper off leash much at all. I was very confused by this as the name of the company is "Off-Leash K9". Chopper did good with all the commands when I picked him up. But one very important aspect of the pick up was there were no distractions around at all. About a week and 1/2 after pick up, and after 3 different collars changes due to Andy putting Long-Haired prongs that were too powerful on Chopper (I only know this because the collar stopped working so I brought it into the Alcoa location where Fallon was VERY HELPFUL and informative) I gave Randi a call because Chopper was not obeying commands as he should of. He was still bolting after dogs in the neighborhood. Snipping at my smaller dog which I previously complained about. Not listening in the house when people were over. Mouthing on peoples hands (plays bites but they can be scary to younger kids). Me and my mother typed an email to Randi complaining about the lack of obedience Chopper had. She called the next day completely laughing in my face about some of my complaints. She offered to bring him back in for re-training, but I was not for this because I had already purchased their most expensive and extensive training package. Chopper was there for a total of 17 days and they had not got the job done. I asked for a refund for the training, but offered to pay $800 for the collar and for the boarding of the dog as I saw that to be more than fair. She continued to laugh in my face about this proposition. The entire program cost was $2800 and I believe they had more than enough time to get the training right. I would not recommend the Johnson City location to anyone. If I did recommend something it would be for the people in the Alcoa location, aside from Randi, because all the employees their were more than helpful and informative.

When we started in January, consistency looked doable, though still challenging. One of my dogs is a male reactive dog who we adopted when he was one and had been kept in a backyard until then without socialization with other people or animals. He wasn't even leash trained. We got the second one as a puppy to be his companion and help socialize him. I had never had a dog in my entire life until these two, and I thought I would have more help than I actually did for the first few years I had them (before my current marriage). When I was financially able, I contacted Sandra, who was clearly passionate about animals. I ended up paying for 12 visits because we felt like Tucker needed a lot of work. Sandra had the best treats and helped us manage Tucker's behavior with better collars, leashes, and supplements. We had to cancel and reschedule due to my own circumstances, Sandra's, and, of course, the weather. That put us into the busiest time of the school semester, both as a teacher and with our five kids' dance, sports, and band schedules, including practices, lessons, dress rehearsals, concerts, competitions, school trips, and other events. With two adults, both working two jobs, consistency was nearly impossible. In hindsight, six lessons would have been more manageable for my family, but Sandra has worked with me in other ways to support our progress. I know that I can reach out to her anytime with questions. She truly cares about and wants the best for the dogs she works with.

Pepperoni fell into our laps after a friend started fostering her to get her out of a kill shelter in South Carolina. We were in love with our snuggly girl from the start, but she was also timid, skittish, poorly behaved on the leash, and terrified of strangers (especially men). We tried to take her to a doggie daycare for socialization, but she was so terrified, she escaped within a half hour and was not allowed back. Over the course of six months, David helped us build Pepper's confidence and bring her out of her shell. She now sits with us at dog-friendly restaurants, greets every guest at the door, and just spent her first day at doggie daycare (no escaping! No hiding!) We cannot thank David enough for all he has done and his patience in going the extra mile for a more difficult case. We're so grateful to have a happy, healthy dog!
