The care and joy they have from caring for animals is so radiant and it is evident that they are in love with their jobs! They needed spaces of their own and fortunately Donna had the room. My outdoor kitty had his own large window to keep track of nature's coming and going and my eighteen year old had a lower window which suited his arthritic hips. I was happily surprised when picking them up after nearly a week that they were not traumatized or upset at all! This is the boarding place I have been looking for!

I went to HTCC because I recently moved from Asheville to Candler, and our previous daycare in Asheville is too out of the way. So many things to say, so I included a short version and a detailed version Cliff notes version of this review: 5/5 for facility 5/5 for staff 5/5 for policy 5/5 from my dog's response to his encounters there 5/5 from my encounters there And the detailed review: Staff are very friendly, seems happy when working, and communicative with each other. They are always a joy to see so early in the morning drop off. I was a bit nervous about the daycare interview because my dog is leash reactive and often need special attention when being introduced to new dog friends. Kim, their manager was very assuring, and his interview turned out great! I was able to do a thorough walk through of the place before bringing my dog in to see where he would spend his days. We received a report card from his interview day with a sweet picture of him. The report included details of his day and how he behaved. Something that took some getting use to when we transitioned is their attendance cap policy. You have to call ahead to see if there's room for your dog for the day- that wasn't a thing at our old place. A bit annoying/inconvenience at first because sometimes last minute things happen and I need him there and then, but then I starting liking the fact that they don't overfill the play areas! Sometimes when I went to pick up my dog from our old daycare, I wouldn't see my dog outside and it would be because the yards are too full and he ends up spending time inside (in the kitchen, one time?) and he would come home with energy and boredom. So now I do value the daycare size limitation they HTCC has in place. They post pictures and videos of dogs at play on their Instagram, and that is always a pick me up in the middle of my day. Their hours are convenient for someone that works full time. They are also open on weekends for daycare! Which is a nice upgrade from our last daycare. My dog with slight separation anxiety literally will forget about me the moment we step out of my car and he knows he's at his happy place. That's how much he loves this place! The cherry on top that made my day was when they surprised me with this amazing, hilarious, photoshopped picture of my dog (see attached photo)!! The picture itself is amazing, but it also shows wonderful staff engagement with the dogs there. They truly do care for the dogs, enjoy working with dogs, and it shows in so many ways! General laundry list of pros: - quick pick up/drop off (haven't had to wait for available staff to bring my dog back/out) - clean facility- my dog doesn't come home smelling like kennels/pet waste or industrial strength cleaning chemicals - facility location has perfect distance away from busy roads, so I know dogs aren't stressed by traffic noise or at great risk of danger if they escape (hasn't happened with mine) - knowledgeable staff/manager has 10 years of experience in working with dogs, and is certified in dog training - well equipped facility with good spacing in play areas - proper dog size/energy group placement - super star staff!!!

The facility itself is very clean and inviting and the staff are happy to show you around/talk to you. They really care about the dogs and are clearly there for the right reasons--I felt 100% comfortable having Lenny in their care. They also take videos and post pictures of the dogs throughout the day so you can see your dog having the time of their life (bonus: they have webcams you can watch--I haven't yet but it was cool to have that option). I watched my dogs on the camera the entire time and saw they were locked away in a smaller separate kennel from all the other dogs in daycare. They were visibly panting and stressed watching other dogs play as they couldn't. I felt heartbroken watching that. We sent multiple emails and tried to call with no communication. We understand our dogs are rowdy sometimes & can be a little crazy, but would like to have been notified if they weren't suitable for this daycare immediately so we could have picked them up. I feel like we paid these people to stress my dogs out. I was home that day and my dogs could've stayed home with me but I wanted them to get a day of play. We paid for daycare so they could play with other dogs, and we did not receive that service we paid for. I'd avoid this place. We previously boarded here as well, and my dogs were also never to be seen on camera then and was informed they were "rotated" when we reached out to ask where they were and how they did. They came home pretty stressed with higher energy levels which was unlike them after boarding when we board elsewhere. I watched pretty closely at cameras at that time too and I do not believe they were rotated then, because I now know for a fact they were not rotated into daycare the last time we paid for daycare. This was confirmed by a staff member upon pick up. We expressed our disappointment and reached out multiple times and have received no communication. Overall, the lack of communication is what is most disturbing to me. It's fine if my dogs are not suitable for this daycare, but it's not okay to never get a call about it and have them locked away for hours and charge us for a day of daycare. Just beware to those that have higher energy breeds.

Our girl is afraid of the dryer, but they worked slowly and patiently with her to build her trust. She absolutely adores them. The cage-free environment is also perfect for her - puts her more at ease. Shannon and Jesse work very hard to develop a great relationship with the pets and the clients. I highly recommend them. They are truly heroes in our dog family! Love them!

In a family crisis that resulted in a need to fly with our anxious cat from NC to TX, our usual vet was unable/unwilling to assist with updating her vaccinations and providing pharmaceutical assistance for the plane ride. Luckily for my family, Animal Hospital East stepped up to the plate. They fit us into their schedule on the next day and were friendly, professional, knowledgeable and thorough while addressing our cat's needs. Their kindness and obvious care for animals was very much appreciated. I highly recommend Dr. Kuhn and the staff as people who genuinely care about animals and people.

Seems like I'm not alone in encountering the arrogance and lack of empathy with the owner here, Dr. Kuhn. I recommend folks bring their pets here for care, but avoid having Dr.Kuhn being your vet. The staff is great and very caring. Dr Wilson specifically took great care of my dog when I urgently brought him in after getting attacked by a bear near the parkway. My follow up visits when Dr Wilson was off left me with Dr. Kuhn. He was short, abrupt, and seemed annoyed when I had questions to ask him. Annoyed that I would bring my dog in to him when I'm just following doctors orders. Once he was done speaking at me, he abruptly turned around and left the room, forcefully closing the door behind him. I was left in the room stunned and confused as to what just happened - did he really just speak to me and act that way?! The next follow up visit he didn't even bother to come out and speak with me at all. As a regular vet clinic, this place seems great. They are also AAHA certified!
