Jim is awesome! I've been working with him to train my pup Bailey and I'm excited to get him canine good citizen certified to move forward with pet assisted therapy! Jim is always on time and has tons of ideas and resources to help me with my dog's behaviors. Bailey came to me as a street dog from Mexico, and the foster said he wasn't too smart. But Jim and I have proven that wrong. He is intensely intelligent and has taken to training well. Best of all, the howling had stopped while I'm at work! He is a dream on a leash. Bailey had a lot of the basics when I adopted him, but we've honed them well through working with Jim and me learning the best ways to work with my dog.

Jim has been our lifesaver! We are about 4 months into our training with him.. We are first time dog parents with a newly rescued pit bull. Jim has always been very gracious to answer all our questions and concerns ranging from food, allergies, and skin health to correcting his leash reactivity. He always arrives promptly and with such a positive attitude. Our fur baby loves him & we have learned so much from him. Training with Jim has been one of our best investments!

Jim Kleyweg was knowledgeable and patient with our German Shepard puppy. He provided us with reading material and taught us a few things like basic commands, how to walk our dog on a leash instead of him walking us, and how to control his obsessive barking. My husband had been through obedience training with his Golden Retriever 30+ years ago and when Jim started saying a few things it triggered his memory and he knew that Jim knew his field very well. Jim also gave us a few pointers about checking his paws and ears for foxtails, and about using canned pumpkin as a daily supplement with his regular food. Jim was helpful but his price seems to high for 4 1-2 hour sessions.

He has shown us what cues to look for and how to get the best out of our dogs while using firm and loving methods. Essentially, he teaches us how to motivate our dogs to want to do the exercises. He has wonderful follow up, as well, and doesn't push anything but rather encourages. It has been a wonderful experience and we will work with Fernando again after we've had time to practice what we learned. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in effective, long lasting training practices and strengthening your understanding of your fur babies. Thank you, Fernando!!

We've been working with Fernando to train our rescue dog, Cowboy, and I can't recommend him enough!…read more From the very first session, Fernando has been incredibly communicative, patient, and professional. He took the time to really understand Cowboy's personality and our specific goals. We're currently focusing on preventing "door dashing," improving basic obedience, and walking nicely on a leash -- and we're already seeing major progress! One of the things I appreciate most is Fernando's flexibility with in-home scheduling. It's made the training process so much more manageable for our family. He explains everything clearly and always gives us practical tools and homework that are easy to follow between sessions. Cowboy is responding so well to Fernando's calm, consistent approach, and we feel much more confident as dog owners thanks to his guidance. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, helpful, and reliable dog trainer, Fernando is your person!

I'll be totally honest: as a first-time dog owner to an Australian Shepherd, I was feeling a little underwater. I knew I needed help, but I was so nervous that professional training would be an investment I couldn't justify. That all changed the second I got on a consultation call with James from WhosWalkingWho.com James is one of those rare people who is just... real. He's straightforward and incredibly genuine. Right away, I could tell he wasn't just trying to "sell" me a package or take my money--he actually cared about my situation. He has this amazing way of explaining things that just clicks. He doesn't gatekeep his knowledge; he truly wants to hand you all the tools and resources you need so that both you and your pup can be the best versions of yourselves. If you're looking for a trainer who is professional, honest, and truly "in your corner," you have to call James. I promise you, it's a decision you won't regret!

Performance K9 Training - Posing for a photo at doggy daycare

Performance K9 Training

I honestly don't know how to fully express my gratitude to David and his team at Performance K9…read more My dog, Pooka, is a German Shepherd who is almost nine years old. He has always been high-strung and reactive, and he was aggressive toward both strangers and other dogs. Every daily walk was spent in fear and constant tension, and I had almost given up hope that he could ever change. By chance, I was talking with ChatGPT about my dog, and it recommended Performance K9 Training and Boarding School as something worth trying. To my surprise, Pooka passed David's interview and was accepted into the program. After just three weeks of training, Pooka is a completely different dog -- a calm, obedient good boy. I no longer have to be on edge every time I take him out. To make sure the change was real, I stood with him outside a busy grocery store. With people coming and going all around him, Pooka showed no fear or agitation, and he did nothing to embarrass me. He was as calm as if he were at home. I could hardly believe it. David truly lives up to his reputation as a world-championship-winning trainer -- he understands dogs and genuinely loves them. I'm also very grateful to Sabrina, Julia, and Christina, who are warm, responsive, and attentive, and who make clients feel welcome and at ease. Once again, thank you to David and the entire Performance K9 team. I highly recommend them to anyone reading this review. If your dog has problems like Pooka's, go to Performance K9 -- it is worth every penny. Hui and Lucy

Are they under new ownership? What has changed?…read more We've used Camp Run-A-Mutt several times over the years for overnight boarding and have always had a great experience, which is why this recent stay was so surprising. When making the reservation, I noticed that a few of my dog's vaccinations would expire during his stay. We took care of getting them updated weeks in advance and made sure the vaccination certificates were sent to Camp Run-A-Mutt. I even confirmed with a staff member at the front desk that they had received everything and that my dog was all set for his stay. A few days before our trip, I received a call saying my dog was missing vaccinations. I asked which ones, and of course they were the very vaccinations we had already updated and submitted. I explained that they had the records, the employee put me on hold, then came back and confirmed everything was in order and said they'd see him on Thursday. Then things got even more frustrating. On Thursday, as I was landing in another state for my vacation, my daughter--who was dropping my dog off before catching her own flight--called me in a panic. She was being told they couldn't accept him because his rabies vaccine wasn't up to date. I immediately called the facility and explained that we had already confirmed his records twice. The employee put me on hold, checked the records, and sure enough, they had his current rabies certificate the entire time. They admitted everything was up to date and accepted him. A few days later, while we were still out of state, I received another call saying my dog was being quarantined and separated from the other dogs because his vaccinations supposedly weren't current. At this point, this was the third time in less than a week that the exact same issue had come up. I again explained that his vaccinations were current and that their staff had already confirmed this multiple times. The employee put me on hold and never came back to the phone. Thankfully, my daughter was only a few hours away and was able to rush over and pick him up. When I called to pay for his stay over the phone and let them know he was being picked up, I was initially told they couldn't accept payment over the phone. That was confusing because I've paid over the phone for previous stays without any issue. When I asked if it was a new policy, the employee admitted it wasn't--they just didn't know how to process a phone payment. They had to get someone else to help before I was finally able to pay. I'm honestly not sure what's changed, but the organization and communication were completely different from the excellent service we've received in the past. The repeated confusion over vaccination records--which they already had on file and repeatedly confirmed--caused unnecessary stress while my family was traveling out of state and ultimately resulted in our dog being removed from daycare and picked up early. We've always been happy with Camp Run-A-Mutt, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope this was just an isolated breakdown in communication, but based on our recent experience, I no longer feel confident leaving my dog there.
