We left our dog with them for a 1 week in June. He is reactive so he had a thunder jacket on. We can only assume they left it on him the whole week. In June. In 90 degree weather. When we picked him up and removed the thunder jacket in the car, we saw this rash. Brought him in and Bruce kind of just blew it off as a heat rash and put Neosporin on it. A week later it was worse and our dog was throwing up, brought our dog to Urgent care and they took a sample of the bumps. Sent it to the lab. And came back positive for staff infection and e-coli. Will never ever bring our dog or future dogs here again, and will never recommend Canine College again.

I cannot believe this facility is still operating. DO NOT USE THEM. We left our puppy there for 2 weeks to be trained and he had soars on his balls from being left to lay in his own feces.

My dog prior to boarding at Canine College

Beware!! From 6/17-6/25/2021, I boarded my 1 year old Golden Retriever for her first time for a week at Canine College and Bow Wow Resort in Holbrook. I have known the owners and have been training my dogs there for 30+ years. I trusted them to take care of my dog while I was away. I payed extra for daily playtime and walks for a total of $480.00. Upon picking her up to come home, my happy beautiful Shelby was lethargic and had trouble walking. The kennel worker handed her leash to me and said nothing. When my dog turned around, I saw that ALL OF THE FEATHERING ON HER TAIL AND LEGS WAS GONE, right down to her skin!! Her feathering was 16 inches long on her tail and hind quarters. I couldn't believe my eyes! I was livid, thinking that they cut her hair off! When I asked the kennel worker who cut my dog's hair, she nonchalantly said, "No one cut her hair, she chewed it off. Some dogs just have a nervous tick." No one said a word to inform me of this before they brought Shelby out to me. No one addressed the problem. I got no notification that there was an issue. For her to chew that much of her hair off, it had to have taken several days. Where she was supposed to have had playtime and private leash walks every day, this should have been addressed immediately upon first sight of the problem. They could have easily put a cone on her to prevent the behavior. When she got home, she was lethargic and could barely walk! Looking at her feet, they were red, raw, and oozy. She had fly bites in both ears, and her neck and face were covered with cuts and scabs. When I got her home, I called the vet immediately. After a $400.00 vet bill, she was diagnosed with 4 infected pawpads and neglect, with the treatment of a steroid shot, cleansing pads, and 2 rounds of antibiotics. As soon as I got her home from Canine College, I called there to speak with the owners about the terrible condition Shelby had come home in. I asked for a return call as soon aspossible. Four days later, I got a return call. The owners knew nothing of what happened to my dog during her stay with them. I did not get a single apology from anyone at Canine College for the mistreatment of my beautiful Golden Retriever. This whole thing could have been very easily avoided if my dog was checked on and cared for properly. A cone would have avoided further chewing. If I was notified, I would have had someone remove her from the neglect and abuse she endured while in the care of Canine College and Bow Wow Resort.

A close shave for summer heat! We've tried out a few different looks with our zuchon and canine college always keeps him handsome!

We've been taking our zuchon here for grooming since he was a few months old. He is now about a year and a half. We trust canine college to groom his half shihtzu half bichon frise locks. The staff are super friendly and always do a great job. We drop off our little guy and when we pick him up, he is happy, clean, handsomely trimmed, and smells nice and fresh too! I love when they put a bandana on him but it doesn't always happen every time. The land is a sight to see too. We love seeing the goats and donkeys on our way to the office.

Upon reaching out for services, I encountered a receptionist, Lynne, or onboarding staff member who exhibited inflexibility and lacked clarity regarding the availability of days for my dog's care. Despite claiming to be "almost at capacity on Tuesdays and Thursdays," they were evasive about providing alternative days, showing a prioritization of their convenience over accommodating paying customers like myself. Moreover, they failed to establish a designated time for pickup or drop-off, leaving me to initiate communication for this vital information. Their response indicated a vague pickup window of "probably between 9:45 and 10:15." On the day of service, despite providing my precise address, including apartment number, and contact number well in advance, I received a call from the receptionist at 10:38 a.m., exceeding the initially provided pickup window. By the time I reached the designated spot, the driver, who coincidentally was also the owner Neal, had already departed. Upon contacting the receptionist, I was met with the explanation that the driver "waited for a second and then had to leave because he was on schedule." However, their scheduling should have allowed for minor delays, especially considering the substantial one-hour pickup windows already established. Furthermore, the receptionist attempted to shift blame onto me, stating that the driver was unaware of my apartment complex and lacked my direct contact information. This assertion is unfounded, as I had provided detailed information including my apartment number, and the receptionist had my contact details on record. Their refusal to take responsibility and insistence on blaming the customer instead of acknowledging their organizational shortcomings is disappointing, particularly for a business claiming 20 years of experience. As this incident occurred on our first day of service, I expected a modicum of grace and professionalism. However, the receptionist's conduct and subsequent blame-shifting left much to be desired. Their assumption that all customers reside in single-family homes further underscores their lack of consideration for varying circumstances. Based on this experience, I cannot in good faith recommend this business, and I am relieved that my dog was not subjected to their care. Update to review: I received an email from the owner, Neal, with an apology about the incident and not seeing the apartment number. I appreciate the follow-up and i think its a good learning experience for everyone."

Full disclosure - I question if it's kosher to even write this review because months after starting…read moredog training at Wicked Good Dog, my husband started doing part time dog walking for them. But, since we used their services for a while before that, and he won't be working there much longer since I got a full time job in his field, I think it's probably okay. We have an 8 year old rescue basset hound who is sweet but very stubborn. The training has been great for her. She started at level 1 and made it to level 3, but I think that's as far as she'll go! The levels are nice because each dog is able to progress at their own pace. The formal training is most evident when she's misbehaving and we can get her to sit or lie down in the middle of it, which calms her down and makes her more focused on responding to us. We've witnessed some pretty impressive improvements on the part of other dogs going through the levels at the same time - amazing how they all have their strengths and weaknesses! Even though the classes are group classes (unless you choose private training), Michelle is good about providing advice to each owner or owners in turn based on her observations of the training session, and based on descriptions of behaviors outside class. I think the group classes are better for our dog anyhow, since they're more fun for her, but also more distracting (she loves pretty much all other dogs) and therefore more challenging. We've also used their pet sitting services for our basset and two cats. For the dog, the prices are similar to in-home boarding that we've done, but with the cats added in, it's cost effective to have them come to the house. Plus they'll get the mail and such. Plus we don't have to drop off and pick up the dog before and after traveling, which can be a pain if we're boarding. Since they have a fair number of dog walkers and sitters, once you're in the system, you can get service on pretty short notice. For trickier to deal with dogs, I think Michelle does much of the walking and sitting services herself, if possible, and I know that she aims to put all the dog walkers through the dog training classes, so they're familiar with the basic principles of the clicker training approach. They also have doggie play groups, by size, which is a service we haven't used (yet), but may consider once we're no longer training regularly.
