After lunch and shopping around Main Street, the girls and I ducked into this iconic candy shop to cure our much-needed sweet tooth! ++ Holy selection of candy! I couldn't make up my mind any prepackaged candy, so I settled for a small bag to fill to the brim with anything of my choosing! Being the gummy fiend I am, I opted for sour patch kids, Swedish fish, traditional gummy bears, gummy worms and more! Anything you want, they have! ++ Staff is insane friendly, knowledgeable and knows their inventory well. My aunt was requesting a specific candy from her childhood, and the cashier led her over to a small wall in the back! ++ Sugar free, low calorie options are also available! ++ Prices are decent for what you get. Pay by the pound (or ounces), or individually priced items, and you're bound to spend under $10. ++ Located right on the corner on Main, it's easy to spot and clearly popular for a reason! This place was bustling with people, from young to old. The Candytime Shoppe has an array of sweets and treats, from old fashioned candies to new. * pre-packaged chocolates and candies * barrels of loose packaged candies * scoop and pay by weight chocolates and candies * European and Asian sweets * display case of truffles and a variety of chocolates * cool and unique drinks I think this place will make you smile when you see the old fashioned Moonpies, candy cigarettes, Pop Rocks, and more...and then delighted to see the unique candies like candy sushi, bacon root beer, etc. Half the fun is exploring and checking the place out. It's pricey but no more than other candy stores I've been to. The service is great! Very friendly. read more

This place has looooots of sweet treats to satisfy your inner glutton. Even though the store is crowded, it remains clean and the atmosphere is friendly. I mean, what else would you expect? They've got a freaking rainbow awning at the front of their store. Of course they're going to be friendly (I almost expected to be greeted by a Care Bear when I first walked in.) The biggest downfall of this place, in my opinion, is the price of candy. While there's a large variety, prepare to pay a pretty penny. (That's called alliteration, folks.) Then again, maybe that's a good thing; it'll keep you from buying too much in one go. Oh wow, I'm not sure how to feel about this. I'm both grateful and sad all at once. :| Friendly place. 0 stars, the place is small and over priced. But the main reason is because the Witch of an owner yelled at 2 year old daughter for accidentally dropping a candy box off of a small shelf. How dare you! You own a candy store and you yell at kids? Sham on you. I love candy and have been to many candy stores all over Colorado but this one is the absolute worst. I will never return. And I hope another candy store opens up that's actually friendly to kids of all ages and puts this one out to the curb. Just because your one of the only candy stores in Grand Junction doesn't mean your the best, it means people have to settle for the lesser one or amazon. WOW! What an amazing store! I've been there twice this week while we're visiting from out of town, and I plan on going back again before we leave. They have a HUGE selection of all different types of candy - this isn't your standard selection of candy that you see at a gas station - they have truly unusual types of candy that you just won't find anywhere else. Reading through some other reviews, it seemed like a few of them focused on some of the candy being more expensive - which may be true - but if you've never been to a candy store like this before, you'll know it's definitely not the type of place where you go to get a deal on a Hershey's bar. They have an excellent selection of homemade fudge, as well as a bunch of handmade truffles - best of all - a huge selection of homemade butter toffee! I just tried one and it's even better than Engstrom's, which has been our local favorite every time we come to town. There's also the largest selection of specialty sodas I've ever seen. And if you like the chocolate oranges that break into segments, look no further. The second you walk in the door, they give you a quick COVID primer (please don't touch things you don't plan on purchasing and ask for help with bulk stuff out of the bins). Definitely stop in this place - you won't be disappointed. And if you ever make road trips and get stuck driving, check out the caffeinated caramels by the register - they really do work! read more

Pay no attention to the bad review-this place was fantastic! Customer service to boot! My group of adults were well taken care of, and (who I'm assuming is) the owner was great with the children in the shop as well. She was very knowledgeable about each candy people in my party asked about, the store was very clean and well organized, and the variety is incredible. We have been to this shop several times. The last time we went we spent over $45 all together. I have never left this shop feeling satisfied about an encounter there. It's overpriced but that's to be expected downtown. The staff gave us dirty looks while we shopped around. The people that run this shop seemed like snobs and were rude to the kids who came there excited to spend their allowance money. We will spending our money at Enstroms from now on!!! Friendly staff, excellent selection of candy, but like everything else in GJ, you have to check the expiration date. I recently dropped $50 on candy for Easter and half the Jelly Bellies were hard as a rock and the other half were fresh. A $6 bag of licorice pieces was expired and tasted like Elmer's glue, some gum was expired, some other stuff was expired. The sign on the wall behind the register says All Sales Are Final. Buyer beware, check the freshness dates and sample the Jelly Bellies first. read more

This is a hard review for me to write. I try my best to spend my money locally but this is a place I will never visit again. GJ has a Beautiful main street although not all the merchants realize the importance of customer service. This is another example of that. When the first words out of the owners mouth are rude as you are entering the door you know this will be a bad visit. From there the experience in this shop just got more sour. Eventually forcing us to leave in short order not purchasing a thing. This place should be called the "candy museum", at least this title would make one realize it is not a kid friendly company. The owner would rather drive families out than please what you would think is there main clients, children... From here on out we will make the walk down to 7th and Colorado and never visit again. I would recommend you do the same. Maybe collectively we can help them do what they really want, find another line of business. read more

I've been to this store several times, so thought I would share my experience. This store has an awesome selection of goodies from our past, and some I've never heard of. It's a great place to buy a unique goody for my niece or nephews. The lady that helped us was very friendly and provided a lot of information about the different candies and also offered suggestions. This is normally a pleasant place to stop but not today. I was accosted by an obese millennial employee about wearing a face diaper. I HAD one on, just not covering my nose. I explained to her that I was one of the people who is exempted, having been diagnosed with asthma, eczema, and a systemic inflammatory condition that has damaged my eyes (map dot print dystrophy). She insisted on covering my nose for HER protection, after I told her I haven't been sick since 2019. She was aggressive and hysterical. I explained to her the death rate for covid is 0.04%, but she continued to be insulting and aggressive, screaming at me "have a nice day' after I'd left. This is how places go out of business. I'll get the sugar free candy online from now on. I hope the owner understands this level of abuse and public humiliation of a sick person could be a violation of the ADA, and does some serious thinking about whether a person this unstable and hostile is a good representation of the store. read more
