We came to pick up candy for our baby shower. We decided to come to this location vs the National City location due to the business hours. This location is newer, but with less selection. The National City location is a warehouse vs. this storefront location. We came on a weekend and luckily it wasn't busy. Parking was easy as the lot is big and shared with other businesses. As we walked in we were greeted by the employee and she asked whether we needed assistance. We wanted to look around first and she informed us of the store set up. We were specifically looking for pink wrapped candies and the candy were easily color coated. We did the prices to Amazon and we did notice that some of our selected candies were cheaper at the store vs online and vice versa. So if you have the patience and time, do your research. You can definitely save some money! Make sure you check the expiration dates of the candy. If your purchasing, make sure you're event is within one month of the candy expiration date. This place has other decor as well so check those out if you need it. Great alternative if you need bulk candy and is the main warehouse is closed or an inconvenience. read more

What shouldn't happen is, if a rancid candy is sold and when retuned the worker says there's nothing she can do because the date is still good. I won't shop here any longer. I'm frustrated I ever went here to begin with. But I went on the recommendation of my day care provider (who had never been here either, but said she heard good things about it). My mistake I never go off third party. Long story short the majority of the selection is old candies or Mexican candies. There were no big hunks, no Snickers, no Milky Ways I could keep going but out of the whole list the only candy they were getting in next week was big hunks. The price compared to other bulk stores was not saving me any money. Candy Pros is more of a niche candy store; you'd come here for a themed party or a baby or wedding shower. This is more of a place for bulk candy shopping and the prices are reflective of the niche market that they fill. This isn't the place to come for casual candy shopping before a movie. They do sell some items that you'd see at Costco or Target and the prices are higher. I came here a couple times with my son and he had fun looking through everything in the displays. Most of the candy is arranged by color, which makes it more appealing to children and easier for party shopping. The store itself is a narrow and deep, but it feels closed in because the walls are so dark. I started to feel claustrophobic after the first few minutes and was relieved to get outside. It's an odd color scheme for a candy store, it feels depressing, especially with fluorescent lights. In the end my son was enchanted with the candy bento boxes and has bought a couple sets now. He says they are a genius idea by whoever at Candy Pros that is responsible. Candy Pros is located adjacent to Grossmont Center, behind Target and next to the Dollar Tree and the Olive Garden. One of the jars broke in transit and i returned back to store and was told there was nothing that could be done. I've gone to this location and National City location for any family events but after last week I am not sure I'd go back. Last Friday, I went in for my baby shower candy table. The young lady working there asked if I needed help. I politely say no. I was coordinating my candy jar colors and noticed she would follow me (and my niece) if not in the same aisle it was directly across or in the next aisle. I understand if she was stocking s or cleaning then fine. No she kept looking at me. I worked in retail for 7 years never would I follow someone or make them feel uncomfortable. Basic customer service: possibly ask- hi how's your day? Are you finding everything ok? Oh I see your items maybe this could go with it (up sale)... Something so the customer doesn't feel like you're just following them in the store. I was really uncomfortable but didn't say anything because my niece was with me and it would have been nice. Once we made our purchase and walk out my niece states that lady was weird. Granted she is in 7th grade and can't identify the experience. I will never go into this location again. Checked this place out with my family the very first week that it opened. I Absolutely loved all that they had to offer. They had tons of candies seperated by color, which is great because it keeps everything organized. This candy store is really cute and trendy, I loved the mural on the wall, it gave the shop a very urban feeling. The employees are all siblings, I really enjoy seeing family owned businesses.
