At certain hours of the day, you can even watch the employees make the candies and they're more than happy to explain the process to you as well. I was told that you can even book mini classes as a birthday party, perfect for little kids to have fun while making something they can take home for later to enjoy. Parking in this area is sub-optimal as within mid-town, you have to opt mainly for Green P at $3 per half hour.

Instead, I purchased several representative types of candies which all impressed me. It was the sharp, assertive flavors that blew me away, including the lychee! (Usually such a passive flavor but not here!) Even the blackberry was scrumptious. Then I made out like a bandit with their "Oops!" bags by the kilo! Lots of flavors! Fun to mix and match! Then one day when I had nothing better to do, I skimmed through their offerings (which keeps on changing) once again and discovered their custom lollipops! Yay!!! I immediately purchased their cherry, their biggest and best! The colors are flavored wonderfully, but the white ribbons are a wonderful, more sour version of a maraschino cherry, it was heaven on a stick! I was so glad I bought fifty! A true all-day sucker! Well, it took me that long just to finish one off, that is. I love working with these people. They answer all my questions quickly and efficiently. All purchases are through PayPal. They pack each of my lollipops very carefully to prevent any cracking, and their ziplock baggies for their old-fashioned candies are easy to seal and store. They have many themed candies, most with complicated yet artistically fashioned centers. Their lollipops are carefully crafted so that they are evenly balanced without the sticks (real wooden ones) are not improperly inserted. I can only imagine what kind of promotional candies they could make for businesses. All my purchases have been through the Canadian Post Office without any delays. Don't allow international shipping to persuade you otherwise from doing business with these folks. Most of mine was done during COVID-19 quarantine, and boy, were they a mental lifesaver! Give them the business!

I had a much better experience at Sugarfina, but it's closing up shop. The smallest size is the $6 bag. That's quite an investment, which is not a word that should ever be used for chewy sugar. After picking up a variety of flavors to try from Sugarfina, I settled on the Shark and Magic Dragon gummies here as presents for my sons. They're vegan, which is awesome. No sharks or dragons were killed in the making of these gummies. Despite the name, these gummies were not as squishy as your typical gummy bear or even shark. The consistency is a bit thicker so they are a little chewier and more inclined to get stuck in your teeth. The sharks were good and otherwise similar to other gummy sharks apart from the consistency. I'm not actually sure what goes in regular gummies to keep them from being vegan. I always assumed they were all sugar and artificial ingredients. The magic dragons though were disappointing to one of my sons. Apparently the orange ones were peach according to my son, not orange like you'd expect, the yellow was pineapple and the pink was grapefruit. Not popular flavors with the kids. I wish I'd spent the $12 on a gift set with a variety of flavors instead. $6 is a lot to spend on candy just for a kid not to like it. If nothing else, they should be more specific about flavors since "fruity" is a bit broad.

The Prosecco sample was very good. Squish Candy is basically gourmet gummies, a couple of steps above gummy bears. They come in a wide variety of flavours under the following categories of: calm, cocktail, decadent, fruity, intense . Whats really good is that they sell vegan gummies so for those vegans looking for a snack this is a place to add to your list . The gummies are nice. I purchased a small bag just to try it out . So far so good. I will be back to try the flavours that I cannot get elsewhere and avoid the generic flavours that the public usually drift toward .

Second, the guys who run this place - polite to everyone - smart storekeepers. A smile and a polite word keep people coming back. Now to the important stuff: A huge range of chocolates from the United Kingdom ... OMG ... toffees, choccies, the works. Some really good biscuits and good, old British "crisps" (Walkers). This place is my not-so-secret indulgence ... mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Ahhh ... yes! Their products are very, very fresh. They pay attention to expiry dates. This is important - you are paying premium dollar for imported choccies and biscuits and you want them to be fresh (which they are, here). Enjoy! P.S. And if you're into it ... they also carry TINNED HAGGIS from Scotland.

I can't believe the experience I just had here. I've been coming here for 10 years. Despite the…read moresparse selection, the stale bulk candy and the expired goods, I came here because I loved the idea of an independent candy store. I will never again enter this business. I spent over $50 on a few items. The owner gave me an itemized receipt. As I was leaving the store, I saw that I was charged for the jumbo version of two items I purchased. I went back to the owner and respectfully showed him the receipt and the items. He was incredibly defensive, scanned the item and showed me the item was marked at the price it should be, but still showed as 'jumbo.' I asked him to scan the jumbo item so I could see I was not being charged for a jumbo and it truly was a system error. He scanned it and nothing was showing up. I'm not entirely sure on this point - but I feel like he was trying to enter a higher price for the jumbo as I stood there so he could justify the incorrect price. I asked for either a refund or to be given the jumbo item since that's what I was being charged for. I don't care if there's an error in your system. Fix it - it's not my problem. The real problem was how this was dealt. The owner wouldn't let me get two words in. He spoke over me for a solid 5 minutes. I kept asking if I could be given the courtesy of explaining what was wrong since he clearly wasn't understanding. I said 'I've been shopping here for ten years. Can you please just let me explain what the problem is without talking over me?" And he said "I don't care. This store's been open for 25 years. It doesn't need you." I was floored. Just a verbal barrage of condescension and abuse. It's a shame. Ten years of patronage out the drain. It's funny that he wrote a review on here asking patrons to give the store another chance. After that display, I'm making it my mission to spread the word on how you shouldn't. The service was the worst I've ever experience in my life. Half the items I purchased are literally expired. Everything is insanely marked up ($10 for a 180g chocolate bar, $3.29 for a regular sized push pop that's not imported). You can also find most everything elsewhere. Bulk barn has a great selection of Jelly Belly's. Also - check your receipts before leaving.
