    Sugar Daddy's - Storefront

    Sugar Daddy's

Yesterday, I was at CF Markville Mall. My original thought was to fetch dinner at Express Eatery. I…read moreneeded to use the washroom before figuring out what I wanted for dinner. The washroom by Express Eatery was closed due to renovations. The next closest washroom was by Best Buy. It was roughly a brisk three-minute walk away. During this walk over to the washroom on the second floor, I saw lots of candy. I looked up and saw Sugar Daddy's sign. I flagged taking a look once my bladder stopped screaming at me. When I headed back to Express Eatery, I passed by this store again. First thought? Sugar Daddy. The song by Thompson Twins back in the 80's. It wasn't exactly the same material. I looked at the storefront. It had M&M's plushies shaped as the candy itself. It was nice that they represented the brand. However, as a huge fan of M&M's characters, it really needed those character plushies. This store offers exotic snacks and drinks. They are generally in candy and beverage formats. I saw cans of Mountain Dew that you can't get at a typical convenience store. Freedom fusion. Star-spangled splash. Liberty chill. They were obviously flavours from the States. Don't ask me what they taste like. Sadly, the majority of products that I looked at had a ton of sugar. I wish that this store carried some sugar-free candies. On a good note, this store does have some sugar-free drinks. PRIME, the energy drink, it available here. There's a NY Dodgers (baseball) line. These drinks don't contain any sugar. However, a single bottle is just under $10. Stuffed Puffs bites looked amazing. I like anything with marshmallows. This store had cookies and creme, and cinnamon toast crunch varieties. Because these goodies are imported, you do need to shell out for them. I saw some cool KitKat flavours that I wouldn't mind trying, like cookie dough. Sugar Daddy's hails from Montreal. This store is the first and only one in Ontario so far. I'm glad that I discovered this store thanks to a washroom detour. I'll return to purchase some goodies when it's payday. I find this store deadly for multiple reasons and the items that I'd like to try need to be budgeted for! (306)

Visited Snack Town for the first time and was impressed with the variety of snacks that they carry…read more There were snacks and candies that come from all over the world such as Lays chips from Taiwan and Banana Twinkies from the USA! There were even KFC chicken flavoured Lays chips during my visit! My favourite was the Kinder Bueno ice cream cone (yes they also sell ice cream!). I will definitely visit again as they constantly import new snacks. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. The only downside I can think of is that the prices are a little bit on the high end but overall it's a great place to find some exotic snacks!

I was doing my usual perusal of places to order takeout a couple of days ago. I noticed Snack Town…read more It was new to me. I did a search and it's five minutes away from where I live. I looked at what items were available. It offers exotic snacks and beverages, from Pokemon and Snapple drinks, to KitKat and Lay's chips from around the world. This store had items that were up my alley that I decided to schedule an order for pickup after work on Wednesday. On the Uber Eats app, I ordered the following: - Strawberry kiwi Snapple - Pomegranate raspberry Snapple - Oreo white Milka - Strawberry Fanta - Mocha chocolate KitKat duos - Lemon KitKat (buy one and get another for free) - Hazelnut cream chunky KitKat bar Prices are reasonable for many hard-to-find imported goods. I was pleased and scheduled my pickup for 5:15 pm. This store is where Sneb Cafe used to be. The sign is still up and I assume that its removal is being worked on. Snack Town is next to Mr Chimaek and across from Pizza Pizza. There is only one way to get in and out of this plaza. Access is along Lee Avenue, close to Kennedy Road. I had no problem finding a parking spot. I backed into one in front of the store. You need to ring the doorbell to enter the store. A man opened the door and was friendly. I said my name and rattled off my order number. I had two bags of goodies. One contained my cold drinks. The other had my chocolate. I asked whether I could browse because I was in a candy trance at this stage. He was perfectly fine having tourist me take a look. I was in sugar heaven! I love Tic Tac candies. The Coca-Cola ones were available for a limited time. I had them a few years back and loved them. I need more! You get the world tour with Fanta. The lemon variety is from Denmark. Green apple hails from China. Shokata (elderberry and lemon) is from Denmark and is on my list to try next. I got the strawberry because I am a strawberry freak and I've never had the Fanta version of it. They do have Lay's and ramen flavours that you can likely get at a local Asian supermarket. I was temped to try the Nongshim lobster ramen, but I will see whether I can find it at a supermarket and compare that price to what this store is offering. I do like that when you are indeed craving Pocky, you can get your fix here. I love Pocky. And, yes, I enjoy the strawberry (trend?). There is also a decent selection of cereal flavours. It has Elf on the Shelf and Rice Krispies holiday cereal. I was impressed. I have devoured the lemon and mocha chocolate KitKat bars. Delicious! I put them in an insulated bag with my drinks when I picked up my order and they didn't melt in 29°C weather as I ran some errandds. I am having the Oreo white Milka next. It's apparently a rare bar to find. I haven't seen Milka since I was in Denmark and Sweden, so I had to get it. I let the nice man know that I thoroughly enjoyed browsing around his store. He was thankful. I appreciated the handwritten note that I got with my order. It was a nice touch! It's so dangerous having sugar heaven so close to home. My dentist's office is a couple of blocks away, so I have my sweet tooth and tooth fixes under control. I dig Snack Town. I'm a fan. (210)

This is a cute little shop along Yonge Street for little sweets and treats that are handmade!…read moreThere's so much variety in terms of flavors, colors, candy designs, and packaging - which all make for such a nice, unique gift. At certain hours of the day, you can even watch the employees make the candies and they're more than happy to explain the process to you as well. I was told that you can even book mini classes as a birthday party, perfect for little kids to have fun while making something they can take home for later to enjoy. Parking in this area is sub-optimal as within mid-town, you have to opt mainly for Green P at $3 per half hour.

Instead, I purchased several representative types of candies which all impressed me. It was the sharp, assertive flavors that blew me away, including the lychee! (Usually such a passive flavor but not here!) Even the blackberry was scrumptious. Then I made out like a bandit with their "Oops!" bags by the kilo! Lots of flavors! Fun to mix and match! Then one day when I had nothing better to do, I skimmed through their offerings (which keeps on changing) once again and discovered their custom lollipops! Yay!!! I immediately purchased their cherry, their biggest and best! The colors are flavored wonderfully, but the white ribbons are a wonderful, more sour version of a maraschino cherry, it was heaven on a stick! I was so glad I bought fifty! A true all-day sucker! Well, it took me that long just to finish one off, that is. I love working with these people. They answer all my questions quickly and efficiently. All purchases are through PayPal. They pack each of my lollipops very carefully to prevent any cracking, and their ziplock baggies for their old-fashioned candies are easy to seal and store. They have many themed candies, most with complicated yet artistically fashioned centers. Their lollipops are carefully crafted so that they are evenly balanced without the sticks (real wooden ones) are not improperly inserted. I can only imagine what kind of promotional candies they could make for businesses. All my purchases have been through the Canadian Post Office without any delays. Don't allow international shipping to persuade you otherwise from doing business with these folks. Most of mine was done during COVID-19 quarantine, and boy, were they a mental lifesaver! Give them the business!
