But for real, what a joint for lackeys. Crawling with kindercare age karens who go and tell the staff on you if you allegedly "take too many spoons" and lacking conventional frozen yogurt flavors, I was left with underwhelming fly infested toppings to try and salvage my night. I was not impressed. 'Fudging' ridiculous (hahaha)!

I emailed them, expressing my interest in a few items. While I didn't expect a response until they were open, Fran invited me to stop by anyway (we had already departed the OBX). She was kind enough to process our order and ship it safely and securely to us. Again, all before they opened for the season! We were so very pleased with our purchases and the kind service. This continued today when Fran realized that they had charged us twice for our order, something I hadn't realized. She had issued a refund as soon as she learned about this and emailed me the receipt. Again, what an exceptional level of Customer service. We look forward to visiting Duck again and visiting with the good folks at Duck General Store in person!

I was looking for sweet + salty and they helped me find their new popcorn in both caramel corn and butter. The popcorn was really good. Not the best ever (prepackaged), but it fit the bill and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Did I mention how nice and helpful the staff were? Well, they were great! The bad: The name. I know this is an OBX mainstay, but with an autistic 8-yo son who needs to know all about EVERYTHING all the time and who goes on and on about anything new to him, I could never see myself bringing him into this store. I don't have the energy to explain the joke (it's a weak joke to begin with) and then hear about it for the next day and a half. We would also not go to Dirty Dick's, Biscuits and Porn or any other place with a suspect name (regardless of the quality of what they do). It's just not worth the hassle. The frozen food case was pretty limited. I did find some beer in the back, and a quart of milk. There was no butter or margarine, and no prepared food or sandwiches. I bought some broccoli salad at the deli counter and found some granola. They did have a case with some good looking beef, and some fresh vegetables. So if you are going to grill or cook, they may have what you want. If you are looking for something prepared, you will be disappointed.
