Pretty good menu, service was friendly, atmosphere was modern, food was just okay. A decent place to go for a bite to eat.

I love coming to Cancun, and it is usually our staple for a night in too. However ordering $20 worth of queso & salsa one could at least hope for a decent amount of chips. And yes there is an option to order extra, but at $4.25 for a bag of chips (which feels criminal btw) they could use a smaller bag for illusion or fill the bags they have up more. Prehaps just eat inside because it seems significantly more costly to-go read more

Service and staff is amazing fast and friendly even on a fast night. Their empanadas are dry and tasteless. That's my only complaint because everything else from their steak to chicken to shrimp all tender and delicious with generous serving always hot. We have tried this place 4 times now.. first time was great and the food was good with great service.. then it flopped.. 2nd time we waited at our table 20 minutes to have a server come over, 30 minutes for our food and then the food wasn't good.. rice was bland, beans seemed burnt.. 3 time we sat at the back near the bathroom and the cook area.. it was loud and again we waited. I don't know what happened, not authentic, not tasty.. just down right not good! 4th time came in with my daughter in a bit of a hurry.. we were sat and 15 minutes later we got drinks and ordered our food.. granted we didn't give enough time and I understand this isn't fast food but over 20 minutes waiting for food seems extreme.. we ended up asking for it to go which put us in a wait mode again.. we were told 2 minutes and after 5 we got up to head to the door.. we he waiter saw us and ran back to the kitchen to get our food! I've been here many times over the years. Mostly a reliable place with good food and reasonable pricing. Tonight, I had a simple order: two orders of birria tacos with a small queso. 3 issues tonight. 1, no birria broth with the birria tacos. Defeats the purpose of the meal, and a critical item to overlook. 2. The girl at the register had an attitude. For no reason. Not friendly at all, best described as a "what do you want now" kind of temperament. 3. No changing table in the men's bathroom. My wife feeds our daughter, so I change her. Cancun's seems to think changing diapers is a woman's job. After a long drive from out of town, we're hungry, in a hurry to get home, and this made the trip longer but not worth the squeeze. Visiting NC, our friends gave us a gift card for dinner here so the five is us gave it a try! The food was all good... the quesadillas were HUGE and delicious!! Warm tortilla chips came out immediately with salsa with just enough fresh cilantro. Drinks were fantastic and reasonably priced. The shrimp tacos used jumbo shrimp which were perfectly cooked with a just spicy chipotle cream sauce, the menu said this came with black beans which were missed but the rice and pico de gallo served over lettuce and topped with a little sour cream were good so I didn't complain. The chimichanga was smothered in a light queso sauce and the beef taco was stuffed with meat! The steak tacos were delicious and tender. For five people with almost two rounds of drinks the bill was $115 which really wasn't bad. Good service, clean if a little sparse restaurant - all in all a good dinner. The lacking star was for their limited menu ... really not many choices but what we had was really good. read more

Honestly I have given this place at least three different chances and all times I've been dine in or dine out, it comes down to the same results. The staff is extremely rude and off putting every time we've been. They seem constantly annoyed. The food, we ordered tacos, (pretty staple dish for a mexican restaurant) and the chicken AND the steak were SO damn dry we could barely get it down. It's mid.. the salsa is ok. Drinks don't get filled fast, the beans aren't that good, the rice was ok. I had birria tacos and they were stale tortillas not fully dipped in the sauce. Our waitress was the only one not traveling around very much it seemed, so maybe that was an anomaly. I gave them another star bc my kids think it's amazing. Nice laid back place. Lively bar in back. I had Veggie Fajitas, but added chicken. Normal chicken fajitas have only onions and green peppers, but veggie fajitas has lots of vegetables. Large portion, and the chicken was done nicely. I ordered desert, which was a crisp pastry filled with vanilla cheesecake. First of all, since it was 6:30 pm and the place was filled with beer drinkers, it took quite a while for my desert to come. Also, the cheesecake inside the pastry was absolutely frozen. One of the worst "Mexican" restaurants I've been to. If you're looking for authentic do not come. Salsa definitely comes from a jar. I ordered the carne asada combo. The carne asada had zero flavor and tasted just like "meat". The "sautéed" onions were crunchy and looked like the just threw oil and butter, melted it, and then threw it on top of the meat. My husband ordered a shrimp burrito and it looked like the cheap bagged tortillas with a thin layer of cheese sauce thrown over. Definitely not worth the visit. This is my second time here and will probably be my last. First, they will tell you it will only take 20 minutes. I arrived to pick up my to-go order at the 18 minute mark. They told three separate people their orders will take 20 minutes. They told me the same, but it took 55 minutes. Second, check your order. Check your order. I did not and that is where I messed up. I ordered extra guac and extra guac on top of that. I got no guac. I got extra sour cream. I got three extra. I don't care for it. I also got an extra order of shrimp and chicken, which made me feel like I made out, but everything was cold and tasted like dirty water. Third, their octopus is not worth ordering. Our first time here and this place is really good. Coming from places where authentic Mexican food is cooked this is as close as I've seen in a long time (East Coast). The waiter was friendly and helpful to let us know what was on tap and the specials of the evening. The menu consisted of the right amount and what I mean by this is its not overloaded. I had the cheesesteak quesadilla which was topped with queso, which, as a spanish speaker, I assumed would be shredded cheese or something along the lines; this was not the case as it was proper queso sauce on the quesadilla. Regardless, both the quesadilla and the queso covering it was really darn good albeit a bit spicy. The portion was pretty big but I must say that I truly enjoyed my experience. The waiter was friendly and quick to get your order and the food arrives nice and hot but it's Mexican food like every other Mexican restaurant in town nothing different same bland flavor that was sloped together in 2 mins. I asked for "raw" onions and made myself very clear and they instead gave me sautéed onions. The tables and chairs are comfy and not all torn up. If I have a craving for Mexican and I am not cooking it myself this is the go-to place in the ferry. I am unsure if the fact that they are always crowded is a testament to how delicious their food is or the fact that they are the only Mexican joint in town. Either way, I have never been disappointed. I always order the same thing, the San Diego burrito. It is a delicious combination of meat (carne asada, for me), sour cream and guacamole. It comes with a side of refried or black beans. Go for the refried beans! Though they are always slammed I have never had bad service. Our waitress was prompt and a manager brought over the chips and salsa that every patron receives. I absolutely love there's! Great flavor and not watered down like other complimentary salsas I have tried. Each of us enjoyed our burrito. The only recommendation I can make is to turn down the music at ad. We were sitting directly under a speaker and it was a little difficult. All other aspects of our experience were great. read more

I know this is a popular spot because of the scarcity of restaurants in Sneads Ferry, but the food is mediocre & expensive. Having lived in Mexico & grown up in Southern California, I've eaten a lot of Mexican food, & the food here is the equivalent of a drive-through fast food stand you might find near LAX.
