My Apple phone was dead to the world. It had been slowing down since the beginning of the summer…read more The Bell store where I bought it in 2015 told me it would cost MORE to take the phone apart and replace the battery than to buy a new phone. AND that the new iPhone14 were coming out in Sept and Apple would shut-down most apps to force a new phone purchase. That's what I thought was happening. I thought for sure they were going to tell me I need a new phone Instead!! WOW!! Cell Xperts told me to give them 1/2 an hour. When I came back my phone WAS ALIVE!! only $70.00 and working faster and better than ever, ever since. Seriously, go there first when you have issues with your phone. Last night, the speaker on my Blackberry Torch died. Coming as it did on day eight of a 12-day…read morework-week, three days after my wallet was stolen, I was *not* in a happy place to try and figure out how and when I was going to find the time to get a new phone. Most people tell me don't bother to repair a phone, just get a new one, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I looked for phone repair places on here and there was nothing near me, so Googled it, and came across these guys. They have a lot of glowing references on their website, but I couldn't find impartial reviews online so had a bit of skepticism. Figured after backing up the phone they couldn't make it *much* worse, so I'd give them a try. SO glad I did. For many reasons. - their hours are amazing - they are open until 10pm many days. - their service was incredibly speedy; in and out in about 20 minutes. - staff are friendly, personable, amusing, they'll chat with you while you wait and treat you like they actually give a damn about their customers. (What a concept, hunh?) - Alex, the technician who worked his wizardry on my phone, is an adorable hoot. We're both Jewish, and Jews like to tell stories. He worked so fast I couldn't even finish my story! And most importantly, their prices are fabulously reasonable. New external speakers for my Torch, including labour, $39+HST. Compared to buying a new phone, heck, there's no comparison! Not that I can't honestly say I hope I never see these guys again, but if I have any other problems with my phone, I'm back there in a flash. They're located in the back of the Gamarama store; I asked why I couldn't find them on Yelp, they explained that because of their location, their reviews on here all fall under Gamarama. So here I am putting them in their own spot because they are completely worthy of finding by their lonesome.

They quoted me $230 to fix, which was a bit high since other places quoted $150 - $175, but I trusted they would do a good job so I allowed them to order the new part. Three days later I was informed that the part was in. On the way there, I dropped my LG and damaged the backing. I had taken the protective case off so they could replace the display. They ended up fixing the backing as well, stating that they could not fix the display unless they fixed the backing as well. However, they gave me a bit of a discount to repair both. Overall, so far everything is looking good and although a bit more costly, I recommend because they do good work.

"Not impressed" is how I would summarize my experience with this place…read more I went to this location because of the great reviews of the expediency and knowledge of the repair technicians. I was quoted a relatively high price (compared to the other places that I checked out), but decided to go along with it, given its rating on yelp. Instead, I had to return 4-5 times until it was confirmed that they couldn't fix my phone. I still ended up having to get a new iphone from apple. Arguably, there is no guarantee that a store can fix liquid damage, but I didn't appreciate the way that they went about addressing the issue. I specifically didn't like the fact that during my last attempt to fix it, I handed in my phone around 11:30 a.m. on a Friday and didn't hear from them until I physically went in on Sunday afternoon - there was no email communication. I think the red flag for the technicians should have been that my phone was never entirely charged, when it was given back to me. Perhaps the issue could have been noticed if it was left overnight for observation. Okay, so they did refund my money when they realized that there was no possibility of saving it, but the effort of going back 4-5 times was ridiculous, to say the least. It also meant that I didn't have a working phone for over 3 weeks. To add further insult to injury, I just checked out the final invoice that they sent out and realized that they took off the protective screen that I paid $10 for and did not refund me. I will not be going back to get that money back - not worth it.
